After hackin in the zubat at lvl 5, I spent about an hour leveling it up to 16 so it could learn Bite, after that Brock was pretty easy

update 2!

After brock, I caught my HM Slave Nidoran, then I traveled through Mt. Moon, leveling Zubat up to 22 and evolving it to Golbat, after I got out of there I immediately crossed the nugget bridge and caught an Abra, then taught it thief and leveled it up to 16 so it could evolve into Kadabra. Kadabra made it through Misty's gym with confusion until she sent out Starmie, Golbat took care of it though!

Update # 3
Firstly I traded Kadabra out and in for my Alakazam. Got the S.S Ticket from Bill, went down to the S.S. and battled through it, Alakazam and Golbat took turns sweeping trainers until I got to my rival, he was easy as pie! After I got cut from the captain I immediately swept Lt. Surge's gym with Alakazam (he never even got hurt, only paralyzed)

Update #4

Went back to cerulean and headed over to the rock tunnel (without Flash), made my way through it, battled my rival in Pokemon Tower (still super easy), then headed underground to Celadon and quickly beat Erika's gym (Alakazam was mvp again)

Update #5

After Erika I kicked Team Rocket out of the game corner, went to saffron to battle the fighting gym, then went back to Pokemon Tower to get the poke flute. With the poke flute I made my way over to Fuchsia City, got Surf and strength from the safari zone, beat Koga with Alakazam sweeping without taking damage again (I do train my Golbat but Alakazam has such a high sp. Attack.)

I plan on finishing this challenge today!

Update #6
After beating Koga I went to Seafoam Islands and caught my seel at lvl 30, then leveled it up till it evolved. After that I went back to Saffron to take on Sabrina's gym, mostly to level up my Dewgong, Alakazam once again was mvp but Golbat finished her off.

flew back to pallet, surfed to Cinnabar, got the Secret Key from the mansion, beat blaine, forgot to screenshot immediately after but oh well, then Bill took me to some weird numbered islands...

After I escaped from Bill the maniac, I went to Viridian to discover that Giovani was the gym leader :O, Dewgong swept him this time (Ice > Ground) after that I traveled through Victory Road

I arrived at the Indigo League a bit underleveled but after some losses I finally made it to my Rival where once again, Alakazam was my best Poke, but it was a close battle

Finally updated the thread :D Good work guys and keep it up!

By the way guys, if you're using an emulator and you have a pokemon that can't evolve unless by trade then I completely allow you to force evolve it via hacking, that's no problem at all. Also, if you want to evolve a pokemon to use as an HM slave, that's also completely fine, just don't use it in trainer battles.

I may start on this challenge very soon, but I'm gonna do it differently.

I've been wanting to Lets Play a Pokemon game on my channel for some time now, except that they are all the same. Vanilla and basic. While there is nothing wrong with this, I want to do things differently. I've been looking for Hard Hacks of games, specifically Yellow, Crystal, Emerald. I.e. The same generation enhanced remakes.

Since the only one I may have any chance of finding is Emerald, I am gonna do challenges and I love the idea for yours.

So I defeated all 8 gyms, but my dragonair and Jynx are still very under levelled. My Charizard is at level 60, which should be fine but I will struggle if I don't train dragonair and jynx up. But the good thing about Leaf Green is that I can use VS Seeker so it's easy to grind. I could also do some EV training along the way.
