  • Ah, well, Pizza, my step-dad brings it home at least every other day, haha. Personally though, I think his choices can be a little better; he brings home pizza with green peppers, ground beef, cheese, and some onions, but, preferably, I prefer something hawaiian, or just plain ol' Cheese or Pepperoni. Maybe sometimes even Meat Lovers. C:

As for Pizza places, I don't mind which one, as long as they prepare it good and don't overcook the dough, or something! Because noooothing is worse than overcooked dough, waaah. Usually I'd love to go for Pizza Hut's, or Pizza Pizza's pizza (gods how many times have I said pizza again??) since their brand is honestly my fav, as predictable as that may be, a man has to have his favourite pizza. <33

P.S., Gods, topic about food always makes me hungry D:

  • Fresh, authentic, bread made with semolina. Proper buffalo mozzarella. Ricotta pieces scattered throughout. Homemade sauce. Truffle oil. Thin crust. Wood-oven baked. Mushrooms and caramellized onion optional. Topped with prosciutto and fresh arugula/rocket.

Also.. for something different.. My preferred "pizza" of the eastern world; okonomiyaki.

I still have some pizzas yet to try like thunfisch pizza, lahmacun, fugazza, and manakish. :3

    Spoiler:

Those look mighty delicious! It seems to me that my pizza experience is rather bland because I don't think I've ever even seen a pizza that looks like either of those! I must find out where I get some now.

  • Hot damn your food porn pics, Kura

For a while I was all into thin-crust gourmet style. Which I still like really.

But recently, I've been big on VPN certified pizzas. Vera Pizza Napoletana is a movement to protect the traditional Naples-style pizza. You must have a wood burning oven, at a certain temperature. You must use a certain type of flour. You must import a certain variety of tomato. Crust must meet a certain size. The pizza must cook in the oven for no more than 90 seconds. There must not be any processed ingredients. Just... guidelines for a good, authentic pizza.

That's just a base though really. As long as the toppings aren't processed, you can do whatever you want. And I tend to mix it up every time. Just not boring delivery-style stuff or toppings. That's gross

For the first one, if you get or make a good-quality thin-crust regular mozzarella pizza.. just top it with a couple red onions and (if you can find them.. if not it's not a biggie) a scatter of sliced bocconccini (small mozarella balls) before you throw it in the oven. Once you take it out, scatter some parmesean, prosciutto, and rocket/arugula (if you can't find rocket, try pea-shoots or watercress as it gives a similar peppery-taste.)
It wont be exact because the dough may not be semolina (hard durhum wheat) based.. but it's still really nice and a good way you can try it without making it a huge trek to find.

For okonomiyaki.. that's much difficult. The base is a mix of many things but predominantly cabbage. It's topped with usually a sort of takoyaki-style sauce (bulldog brand makes some), kwepi mayo (or other japanese style mayo) and bonito-flakes. You cannot usually replicate this without the authentic ingredients. Especially the bonito-flakes.

It's like trying to make a pizza using salsa or tomato-ketchup. Just.. not the same as actual tomato-sauce.

I honestly can't stand delivery anymore. I remember trying some a few times recently since it was the holidays and just thinking "ugh this is horrible.. why waste calories?" Was bland and greasy. Honestly I preferred to have a nice slice of toast to takeout pizza.

Yeah, same here. Did the same thing over the holidays. It was late and none of us wanted to go buy groceries. Settled on delivery pizza and... just, no. It's so.... doughy?

Yeah just tasted like.. stodgy to me? The bottom tasted cardboardy but the dough on the inside tasted like soggy bread. The cheese had no flavour aside from oil and salt.. which felt gross on my lips.. and the sauce was too sugary.

Same case for the 2 other freezer/takeout pizzas I had. Store-ready-made ones are the way to go if you gotta have a lazy meal. I buy small one or two and freeze them for emergencies. Cheaper, taste nicer, and better for you than the takeout alternative.

Dominoes in the UK is hella expensive. It's like 17 pounds for a large. That's like nearly $30 if you do the conversion. Rather save that money and do a whole grocery shop for the week or go to a restaurant.

I'm always ecstatic to post in a thread about because because I love pizza. Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa John's, or Little Caesar's pizza all gone in minutes. Frozen pizza is alright when I want pizza without leaving the house. If I could just siphon fresh slices of pizza from the pizza chains down the street, I would be happy.

  • I worked at a pizza place for 4 years. Now I don't eat it. Mostly because our oven is busted and I've been too lazy to call it in. I should probably do that.

Pizza's good though. Sadly I don't eat fancy artisan pizzas, just delivery these days. And that's rare. I'm cheap and don't like calling/ordering delivery. I'd rather make my own. Again, though, I really can't...

I prefer fresh over frozen, and thinner crusts over pan style. My favorite toppings are mostly veggies: tomato, onion, mushroom, spinach, peppers, jalapenos. I'm cool with sausage and pepperoni and bacon, but idk. I'd rather have veggies.

When I do eat pizza, I need marinara sauce and red peppers on it! I'm the worst.

The worst is those odd times when I crave my old job's pizza... they closed down all the stores in our state. I ate that stuff for 4 years, why do I suddenly want to eat some?? >:(

It seems I'm one of the few that actually likes frozen pizzas. Though it probably doesn't help that lately the quality of pizzas at my local pizza places isn't as good as it used to be. Pizza's great as leftovers too (unlike pasta).

I prefer just plain ol' cheese pizza, but I can eat some pepperoni too.

note to self: if i ever need to bribe Lilith, send pizza

  • Ever since I came back from America 3 years ago Pizza just doesn't taste the same.
I love pizza a whole lot, but Dominos and Pizza Hutt aren't the greatest here.
However, there are certain places in my city which can cook up a really mean pizza!

I'm really plain in loving the basic pineapples and ham, cheese or margarita pizza, however I really love the ones that are woodfire because the crust tastes reaaally nice!

  • Sadly, I don't eat pizza very often :( I used to like it, but I have a lactose intolerance, so if I eat it, i have to eat it without the cheese. So I usually put on peppers and onions or something to help enhance the taste.

Pizza is fucking great. I think the sauce is what truly determines whether I will ever bother eating the same pizza again. Either the sauce has too many tomato flakes in it and I feel disturbed when eating it or it's sickeningly sweet something I never want my pizza to taste like. I like deep dish, regular, or thin crust. Just depends on the flavors really. Some of my fav toppings are mushroom, sausage, meatball, or eggplant. My all time favorite pizza is a thin crust with alfredo or a garlic white sauce in replacement of the tomato sauce. Then for the toppings either broccoli and mushroom with chicken or just vegetables. Oh my god it is out of this world good.

  • I love pizza. I used to eat it all throughout high school. Haha. I don't like eating pizza crusts though, so I normally get a thin crust so none go to waste. Typically I get sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, and olives

  • I liked pizza, especially when it contains any kind of meat, or tuna in it. I prefer any kind of crusts if I wished to, but usually I just go with normal topping because pizza is much more expensive than any other foods in my country.

  • Personally, I love Papa Johns simply because of the beautiful garlic sauce that they have and hwo good it tastes with their pizza. Now I don't eat beef nowadays because earlier when I was religious it was forbidden to me but even now when I'm more agnostic I still can't get the 'no-beef' thing off my mind. So personally, my favorite toppings on pizza are jalapenos, chicken and shrimp.

My favorite pizzas though are the thin ones from those small Italian cafes that are delicious. But I do love really spicy pizzas because I can tolerate spices better than 90% of the people i know.

I love a Dominos thin crust margarita, just cheese and tomato does it for me. I do really like a BBQ base pizza though with chicken, although not from pizza hut as they put minimal sauce on theirs.

The funny thing is, as much as I like pizza I don't actually like cheese. I can eat it on pizza but not when its not melted.

  • I don't buy frozen pizza, they look really unappetising. I typically order pizza from whatever local pizza place is nearby. I avoid Dominoes and Pizza Hut because they're usually not as good as random ones scattered about.

I usually stick to three pizza types:
    - Supreme (pepperoni, ham, onion, capsicum, olives, mushroom, pineapple, mozzarella)
    - Hawaiian (pepperoni, ham, pineapple, mozzarella)
    - Aussie (pepperoni, ham, onion, egg, mozzarella).

I don't usually bother with gourmet pizza varieties unless I'm in a restaurant.

  • Mmmmm pizza.

I almost always ordered pizza with pepperoni and feta cheese but lately have been craving pizza with pineapple slices. We had that when on vacation in the Dominican Republic and it was so delicious I just cannot aaaa. Nowadays my choice will more than likely be something with pineapple, but I also really love white cheese pizza. Going to sit here and starve. </3
