EDIT: Challenge is done. I would've been done sooner, but grinding for levels took far too long. I hate grinding up a team of six, and I know for sure when I do Gen 2, I'm only going for 4 party members.

Welp, it looks like I finished Pokemon Green (and all the gloriously ugly sprites!!!)

Spoiler:

-Had to use starter to defeat first Gym, so I'll skip that part.

-Caught Clefairy after ~50 frustrating encounters. Moon Stone, haha time for Clefable! Nicknamed Moon.
-Bought Magikarp for a well-spent $500! No nickname for this poor guy.

-Grinded like a true champ until I got Magikarp to evolve, all before Misty and after Clefable had a field day on my Rival.

MISTY (Badge #2)
-Clefable tanked some Starmie attacks, while Gyarados trounced them with Bite. At this stage of the game, Gyarados is unstoppable.

-Went to Vermilion and found my third team member, Diglett. Nicknamed "Monty" to mirror Monty Mole from the Mario games. (Awful nickname, right?)

-SS Anne went smoothly with newly-evolved Dugtrio!

SURGE (Badge #3)
Dugtrio's Dig finished Surge in a hurry. Next.

-Rival gets owned lel

ERIKA (Badge #4)
-Wasting no time at all, I taught Dugtrio Rock Slide, then Clefable Ice Beam and Thundebolt.
-Ice Beam finishes her up. Clefable's versatility paid off.

-Did the Silph Co event to teach Dugtrio Earthquake before Koga, a strategy which is used universally by speedrunners of this game.

KOGA (Badge #5)
-Earthquake. And we out.

Went and fought Blaine before Sabrina for extra ease.

BLAINE (Badge #7)
-Now that Gyarados learned Surf, I used it along with Dugtrio to destroy Blaine. I hope he had Burn Heal.

Back to Sabs! But not before I catch Muk, who I nicknamed Wale. (If you understood this joke, great for you. I think Wale is a trash rapper, and Muk is, well, garbage.)

SABRINA (Badge #6)
-I utilized Clefable's good Special to tank Sabrina's Psychic attackers. Double Edge OHKOed every Pokemon besides Alakazam, who I used Dugtrio to stop.

GIOVANNI (Badge #8)
Here we go. Moon the Clefable knows Ice Beam and Dugtrio has Earthquake, Gyarados with Surf. I beat Gio with ease.

-Somewhat tough but not really Rival battle. Wale the Muk was helpful with its Toxic/Minimize strategy. It also defeated Venusaur.

LORELEI
Here we are. Clefable's Thunderbolt made it easy to move on.

BRUNO
Dugtrio cleared them all with Earthquake, which critical hit a few times.

AGATHA
Same thing here. Dugtrio is a beast! Rock Slide for the Golbat, if you were wondering.

LANCE
Clefable's Ice Beam beat everything.

CHAMPION RIVAL
-Pidgeot, Gyarados, Exeggutor and Venusaur: Clefable's TBolt and Ice Beam killed them.
Arcanine and Alakazam: Dugtrio for the win.

I beat this challenge in record speed. (Speak of which, Werster beat Pokemon Red last night in 1:51!) Dugtrio is so OP in Gen 1, with its Slash that crits everytime, Fissure that only needs X Accuracy to work, a ~31% chance to critical hit with every move besides Slash, and STAB Earthquake. Gyarados is great too, and Clefable is a poor man's Chansey with its HP and good Special. Muk is an okay Pokemon and did some good work for me when needed.
