Is it possible to see legendaries that need nintendo events (eg. Arceus) for completing the Sinnoh Dex without actually battling them or getting the event?

No. In order to see legits like Arceus, Shaymin etc. You must either have the events or "Action Replay" for them. Unless you know someone who HAS these Pokemon, the only fair way to get them is via Events -Event hater- >_<

It's silly like that. I get the point about event pokemon and all. Getting people to come to an event and spend money and such.

But they really should let people "See" these pokemon as well to help with the dex. Or it's going to have holes in it.

if you're talking about the sinnoh dex which you need to complete to get the nat dex, then you don't need to see arceus or shaymin or darkrai, infact about 30 of the new pokemon you need to see to get the nat dex
