  • I guess shouldn't complain, because everything that bugged me was mostly my fault. The third pokemon I caught was a level 6 magikarp and decided to get it to a gyarados before training anything else, making everything else severely underleveled , and leaving it severely underleveled. That made it hard to finish my real goal of beating the pokemon league with the first 6 pokemon I got in-game (I also boycot legendaries and only get them to collect, I never use them.) Lucian was the hardest battle of the whole thing because i refused to use Giratina and had no type advantages whatsoever. I startd with 50 revives and 45 max potions...I finished the pokemon league with 2 revives left XD. But I can't really complain, those were all my fault.
P.S. Did anyone else notice that Wake was extremely hard?

Yes. I talked about this earlier in the thread... it was really annoying. Now a lot of the Pokemon that I started off with are about 15 levels under because I couldn't raise them all enough for the Elite 4, so I changed my 6 man team into a 3 man team of Torterra, Flareon and Giratina and it still took me multiple tries to beat Cynthia.

    BTW...

If you ask me, I think some of music in DP and Platinum was bleh. No offense to anyone who likes that rustic music. (I didn't like Eterna, Celestic, or Solaceon's music. :cer_no:)

I agree, but I liked the Eterna/Celestic music. The Oreburg (can't spell the damn thing) music and the ever present Pokecenter music annoyed the crap out of me. But the Cyrus Battle and Lake Trio Battle musics both kick ass. :P

The most annoying part for me was definately ... without a doubt ... Candice's gym and her pokemon set ... if there is one thing my party is weak to ... it's Ice.

  • >_> I knew nothing of this.

Thanks for the warning, I'll watch out for that when I start playing Platinum.

  • Yeah, I'm the same way. I feel kind of cheap using legendaries in battles, especially against an actual person, and I've never filled completely filled up the pokedex in any of the games, and I've been playing since R/B/Y.

Yeah, I really hate legendaries, except for me uber Suicune from Colloseum, which I STILL don't use because I find them unfair. I never tried to fill a pokedex either, until Leaf Green, where I am only 16 pokemon away from finishing the Kanto Dex

I was suprised but kind of expected it. I just had a feeling that when i saw those two trainers blocking the path to Veilstone/Pastoria I was like oh i probabaly have to beat Fantina. I personally think she was a breeze with even low leveled Pokemon (Manaphy-lv24, Luxray-lv30, Monferno-lv27)
and it didnt annoy me quite too much. i actually thought it was a nice little twist :P

  • The elite four, fantina and the master rank contests are all really annoying to beat. Especiall once you complete the national pokedex, the elite four goes harder.

  • The only battle that I found a problem was Cyrus in the Torn World. I was a little underlevelled, due to training 4 pokemon at an even rate through the game. I just wasn't ready to take Gyarados, and Houndoom was a pain, too. I would have done some grinding if it wasn't damn-near impossible to get out.

If you want a real challenge, try monotype runs. :cer_nod:

That would be like playing FireRed and Leafgreen and finding out that you could have battled Blaine earlier (4th gym instead of seventh) by taking a boat in Vermilion.

As strange as it sounds, I think it's actually possible to fight Blaine in fourth.

But on topic, I didn't find the fact that Fantina was in third annoying at all. Sure, it made things a lot harder, and I had to use a lot of items to beat her, but I still managed it with a party of an average level of 22.

Personally, I think the most annoying gym leader, for me, was Crasher Wake, since I strayed off my usual route and dumped my Luxio at Eterna City.
