Cyrus is an amazing character, and he needs development. I've taken this upon myself; he is the main antagonist in my fic, which just shows how awesome he is. And yeah, is there a Cyrus fanclub?

He's awesome. Atleast he has some class & Manners. He was a pain in the distortion world though...but still...better than Giovanni

After the epicfail that was Magma/Aqua, I'm glad someone with a head on their shoulders pop'd up.

In my opinion, I think that both Giovanni and Cyrus are the best criminals. They both have clear motives unlike the Aqua and Magma duo.

Cyrus is my favourite team head. The idea of someone becoming emotionless and coming so close to making his own new world... Awesome. :3

Hm... IMO, all of the villains made no sense (except Archie).

FR/LG [Giovanni]: Okay, so Giovanni wants to apparently take over the world. What does he do? Well, to take over the world, he sells fossils, obtains TM28, hides inside of a base at the bottom of a Game Corner, kills a Marowak, then negotiates with the Silph Co. President to get a Master Ball. Um...okay, I really don't see how doing any of that can help you take over the world.

R/S/E [Maxie & Archie]: Wow. Wow, just wow. Maxie is stupid, Archie is smart. The Hoenn region is filled with water, lots and lots of water. So who has a higher chance of achieving their goal? Team Aqua, obviously.

HG/SS [Rocket Executives]: Okay, so the Rocket Executives want to follow in Giovanni's footsteps, including his weird way of thinking. To take over the world, the Rocket Executives cut off Slowpoke Tails, evolve a Magikarp, turn a Gyarados red, and then take over an entire Radio Tower to try and contact their leader. SERIOUSLY!?!? Did they really have to do that? I mean, did none of the Rocket Executives have Giovanni's phone number, or what? So apparently if you want to contact someone and you don't have their phone number, or maybe their e-mail address, or anything else, you have to take over your local radio broadcast company. Wow. And that still doesn't help take over the world.

D/P/Pt [Cyrus]: So Cyrus wants to build a new universe just for himself. What does he do? Well, first he sends two grunts to "cause massive damage to Prof. Rowan's assistant", then he collects energy from Valley Windworks (um...how do you "collect energy"?), then he has his admins steal a Clefairy and a Buneary and put it in their Eterna building (Okay...? O_o), then they steal Dawn/Lucas's Pokedex, then they blow up the Great Marsh (Which turns out to be just fine later O_o), then they blow up Lake Valor (Which also mysteriously recovers like the Great Marsh), and then they create a rusty old red colored chain, and then go to Mt. Coronet and make 3 fat Pokemon appear, and then one of the fat Pokemon turns into a portal. Go into the portal, and then you're in a world were there's a bunch of floating rocks and sunflowers. Yes, sunflowers. Can someone explain to me why there's sunflowers in the Distortion World?

Anyways that is why I think the only smart villain is Archie.

Giovanni's goal isn't to take over the world, it's to become rich by exploiting Pokemon for profit.

    Team Rocket's Oath said:
Steal Pokémon for profit. Exploit Pokémon for profit. All Pokémon exist for the glory of Team Rocket.

Oh, I remember that. But I don't think that would make Giovanni's actions make more sense:

Okay, so Giovanni wants to apparently to make money. What does he do? Well, to make money, he sells fossils, obtains TM28, hides inside of a base at the bottom of a Game Corner, kills a Marowak, then negotiates with the Silph Co. President to get a Master Ball. Um...okay, I understand how selling fossils can get you money, but the rest doesn't make sense (You're not even allowed to sell the Master Ball).

Cyrus is absolutely my fave boss. The fact that he can be so cold and collected while still being batty underneath it all... But is he really crazy? It's kinda hard to tell. He sorta looks that way especially in Platinum, but the fact that he was RIGHT about everything...

Plus, his goal is so twisted. He wants to destroy the current world and make a new, perfect world--a charitable ideal, right?--which he would rule. On the surface, it actually sounds like a good idea, even if it means Cyrus would basically be, y'know, God in the new universe. If nothing else, he's a master at propaganda.

And I love the fact that at the end, he keeps working towards his goal. None of that "Oh I have been defeated, I have seen the error of my ways and will abolish my team and become a hermit" crap that the other bosses like to go through. I'd kinda like a sequel to D/P/Pt, just to see if Cyrus comes back with a new scheme.

    Now, to address another point...

To make money, he steals fossils that can either be sold for a lot of money and/or revived into Pokémon that could be worth a whole lot of money; he sends out goons to rob homes in the hopes of obtaining valuable items that can be used to make Team Rocket's Pokémon stronger or that can be sold for a profit, things like TMs; sets up Team Rocket's base underneath a casino, which he apparently manages personally because there are very few things more profitable than a building designed to fleece customers of money with the promise of jackpots they'll never actually win; has his goons take over Pokémon Tower so that they can poach a bunch of Cubone and sell them for a profit, during which they have to kill a Marowak to get it out of the way since it's protecting the Cubone; takes over the Silph Co. because it sells Potions, Antidotes, Poké Balls, etc., in other words, EVERYTHING sold at Poké Marts and the things that EVERY Trainer buys, which would make Team Rocket a mint--not to mention the fact that obtaining the prototype Master Ball could have allowed Team Rocket to reverse-engineer it and create as many as they wanted, which they could then use to catch any Pokémon they wanted, Pokémon like Mewtwo, the Legendary Birds, etc...

Congratulations. In your posts about your opinions on all the Teams, you managed to misrepresent every one of their goals and the means by which they were trying to achieve them. Saying "Giovanni wants to make money, so he kills a Marowak; that doesn't make any sense," is about as reasonable as saying "McDonald's wants to make money, so it feeds cows; that doesn't make any sense." Can you actually not connect the dots enough to figure out how Method A is supposed to yield Result B, or did you just feel like bashing all the bosses in order to try to make Archie look better?

    Cyrus was....something else.

    His mother must have dropped him as a baby;

But, he was quite a good villian. Too much of his "I want a world without spirit." and "Our world is incomplete" nonsense.
I have to admit, he let me sneak a few chuckles throughout the game.
I saw, out of all the evil organization leaders, Cyrus was far more motivated at his own will, and no one could stop him.

Lol, I totally agree with this entire post- it was just kinda long, so...

Cyrus is my favourite boss, without a doubt. In order of competence, I'd say the Team Leaders go as follows-
    1. Cyrus.
    2. Giovanni.
    3. Archie and Maxie as a pair, because they both suck equally.
Team Galactic, of course, have the typical noobish Grunt here and there, but they are definately the darkest Organisation to date.

I do think Cyrus is the best boss, simply because he makes me really want to beat him. But I do like Team Rocket. and Galactic Grunts look kinda weird in battle.

They should make a Team Galactic version, where you get to join TG and steal other people's pokemon and stuff, then you have to successfully make a new universe using Dialga and/or Palkia.

I totally disagree with you. Archie didn't make any sense; his goal was, to put it simply, retarded. He wanted to pointlessly expand the sea. Why? To make more habitats for Water Pokemon, and because "water is the source of life" or something like that.

    ...

    Right.

Stacked up against the other goals, Archie's seems even more inferior.

R/B/Y: Team Rocket. Goal: Get rich by exploiting Pokemon. (Okay, makes sense.)

S/G/C: Team Rocket. Goal: Get rich by exploiting Pokemon while trying to find their leader. (Okay, makes sense.)

R/S/E: Team Magma/Aqua. Goal: Expand the landmass/sea to create more habitats for people/Water Pokemon. (...umm...)

D/P/P: Team Galactic. Goal: Create a new world in which Cyrus is basically God. (Extreme, but makes sense.)

    So...how is Archie best again?

Well, I'll always like Giovanni the best because he was the first. Plus, he has a cool mafia aura. I mean, c'mon, the Persian? So Godfather.

But I like Cyrus as well. Mostly, I like the part in Platinum when he screams at Cynthia "SILENCE!!!!"

I was like o_O "Daaaaang" XD
