Cyrus is absolutely my fave boss. The fact that he can be so cold and collected while still being batty underneath it all... But is he really crazy? It's kinda hard to tell. He sorta looks that way especially in Platinum, but the fact that he was RIGHT about everything...
Plus, his goal is so twisted. He wants to destroy the current world and make a new, perfect world--a charitable ideal, right?--which he would rule. On the surface, it actually sounds like a good idea, even if it means Cyrus would basically be, y'know, God in the new universe. If nothing else, he's a master at propaganda.
And I love the fact that at the end, he keeps working towards his goal. None of that "Oh I have been defeated, I have seen the error of my ways and will abolish my team and become a hermit" crap that the other bosses like to go through. I'd kinda like a sequel to D/P/Pt, just to see if Cyrus comes back with a new scheme.
Now, to address another point...
Okay, so Giovanni wants to apparently to make money. What does he do? Well, to make money, he sells fossils, obtains TM28, hides inside of a base at the bottom of a Game Corner, kills a Marowak, then negotiates with the Silph Co. President to get a Master Ball. Um...okay, I understand how selling fossils can get you money, but the rest doesn't make sense (You're not even allowed to sell the Master Ball).
To make money, he steals fossils that can either be sold for a lot of money and/or revived into Pokémon that could be worth a whole lot of money; he sends out goons to rob homes in the hopes of obtaining valuable items that can be used to make Team Rocket's Pokémon stronger or that can be sold for a profit, things like TMs; sets up Team Rocket's base underneath a casino, which he apparently manages personally because there are very few things more profitable than a building designed to fleece customers of money with the promise of jackpots they'll never actually win; has his goons take over Pokémon Tower so that they can poach a bunch of Cubone and sell them for a profit, during which they have to kill a Marowak to get it out of the way since it's protecting the Cubone; takes over the Silph Co. because it sells Potions, Antidotes, Poké Balls, etc., in other words, EVERYTHING sold at Poké Marts and the things that EVERY Trainer buys, which would make Team Rocket a mint--not to mention the fact that obtaining the prototype Master Ball could have allowed Team Rocket to reverse-engineer it and create as many as they wanted, which they could then use to catch any Pokémon they wanted, Pokémon like Mewtwo, the Legendary Birds, etc...
Congratulations. In your posts about your opinions on all the Teams, you managed to misrepresent every one of their goals and the means by which they were trying to achieve them. Saying "Giovanni wants to make money, so he kills a Marowak; that doesn't make any sense," is about as reasonable as saying "McDonald's wants to make money, so it feeds cows; that doesn't make any sense." Can you actually not connect the dots enough to figure out how Method A is supposed to yield Result B, or did you just feel like bashing all the bosses in order to try to make Archie look better?
