Are you offended by sex?

  • I'm not offended by sex or the human body itself, I'm more offended when it pops up in a place where its not supposed to be (say a forum like this for example). Even then, I won't really care either way if I'm by myself, but I'd feel more than a little embarrassed if I was browsing a site I normally do, and sexual images were to pop up when I was around friends or family.

  • Sex in and of itself is naturally unoffensive. It's a natural thing.

I personally fail to understand the societal taboos on it myself, I find sex to be a beautiful thing. Sure, I'm not going to condone allowing people to have sex in public, but I don't quite understand why we as a sentient species refuse to accede to the positive sides of it.

I would go on further, however the topic is of mature connotations and would probably only flourish in D&D anyways if it were allowed.

  • I definitely wouldn't say I am offended by it, and if someone want's to be open about their body then that is their choice and I can respect that just as I would respect a more modest person (unless one is attacking they other's views). I personally don't find women who are exceedingly showy about their bodies attractive, but that doesn't mean I think any less of them as people.

I wouldn't find them more attractive, and it's possible that I would think less of them as people. To me, "peopleness" or respect comes from how you present yourself and how you communicate yourself to others. If somebody dresses really showingly, and I find out that that's really all they have going for them, my respect for them plummets. I just find it to be exceedingly superficial focusing on your appearance one-dimensionally instead of improving your other traits. That to me shows a lack of judgement and priority, so what should I care about what they have to say?

  • I wouldn't say I'm offended by it, but I can be a bit disturbing when I find it on my computer such as if I'm browsing the Internet and it accidentally pop-up in a search I was doing. And if I accidentally do walk in front of someone while they're naked or changing , I'd definitely be embarrassed by it, but it wouldn't per say, offend me. Just bother me until I get over it. It's the human body which is something that needs to be cherished. Nudity is considered an art style to an extent, unless it's intended to be porn. And sexuality is a natural thing so as long as it isn't too extreme or doesn't pop up at random, I don't see anything very wrong with it. If that makes sense.

  • I'm not offended by sex, but I have a limit on seeing any explicit work regarding sex or nudity to prevent myself from becoming addicted to this behavior. If I see anything that represents someone's privates, then I have to wait for a least a day without seeing a similar image until the next day, but if I acciently see that type of image during that day, then I have to wait for another day without seeing a similar image until the next day.

  • Depends on the level of "risque" we're talking about. I've stumbled across some extreme images before that made me scramble to close my browser, now that stuff I might possibly be offended by...

But the less extreme stuff, nope. I've gone to school for art before, a figure drawing class or two will definitely get one used to not being offended by the human body. :P But yeah. I don't mind it, I usually have no interest in it and won't go looking for it, but I don't get offended over it.

  • Definitely not. While I am quite young to be viewing those images anyway, I'm definitely not offended by the human body. Everyone has one!

I don't think anybody is offended by the human body per se. But some of us are offended in the context in which it is abused or exploited. It's the evil that takes advantage of the human body that we dislike.

  • Risque images are fantastic. I personally think there aren't enough of them on the Internet.
Says the one with one on their sig, lol.

Personally, I'm not disgusted/offended or anything like that, though the only thing I dislike about it is when it's used to promote/convince... you know, "sex sells". But otherwise, if it's in an adequate moment, in an adequate time when it's ok, then it can be such a beautiful thing. If anyone's offended by that, then eh...

I am heterosexual, so whenever I see a picture of a naked male I get grossed out, while a picture of a woman is okay with me.

I know this is a big double standard, but I don't feel comfortable looking at risque pictures unless there women because women are wonderful looking and I don't find males attractive.

I wouldn't go as far to say that I would offended if you shoved a picture of two men having intercourse in my face - well, you would be showing a minor pornography (which is a colossal no-no) - I would just be a bit grossed. Two women on the other hand and I would be indifferent at worst.

This. Sex isn't offensive. It's natural and enjoyable; however, I find porn to be offensive, as well as the way sex is used in advertisements (esp. female bodies) to sell products that have really nothing to do with bodies whatsoever. Cars, houses, services... Why does it all have to be sexualized in this way?

    Look at some of these.

    Spoiler:

Probably the worst of the bunch:

    Spoiler:

How can you not say that it objectifies women in a sexual way? It's disgusting. Happens to men, too, but less often.

    i.e.

    Spoiler:

Obvious degree difference. Women are more frequently exploited in this manner + more "thoroughly." Men are less direct and less often, with no visible sexual context generally; just through text or indirect phrasing. Meaning you rarely ever see a man with half-down pants and posing nakee or near-nakee to sell a product that isn't cologne or shampoo. With women, it could be a gun advertisement and they'd still get her half-naked for it, or this PETA ad:

    Spoiler:

    Seriously?

  • When I am looking for something on the internet that is COMPLETELY unrelated to sex and get hardcore adult content showing up, I am offended. Google Image search is notorious for pulling up unwanted adult images, so much that I've stopped using it. If anything, the more reputable web sites like Google need to up the ante more on their filters.

Nah it is all natural and shouldn't offend anyone. Graphic images, yes I prefer not to look at, but I am not offended by them.

  • @Belldandy- All of the pictures you posted are the kind of things I get offended by.

I am not offended by sex itself because it is natural but exploiting it like that is just wrong and offensive in my opinion.

I Googled "Fennekin evolution" to see some fanmade evolutions... I scrolled down and saw a picture of, well, let's just say an obviously female Fennekin. That was pretty offensive because it was unexpected and unreleated to what I was Googling. I wish there were more filters available in Google images.
