Ash meets Butterfree again

Hey I was wondering, is there a banned episode where Ash meets his Butterfree again? Cause in the japanese opening of the Battle Frontier saga it shows Ash's Butterfree and the pink Butterfree on the beach with Ash, Brock, May and Max. So, why would they be in the opening if there isn't an episode about Ash's Butterfree?

That opening just shows all his Pokemon. That's why his Pidgeot is in there.

But his Pidgeot isn't in a sence on the opening like his Butterfree is.

it shows his lapras as well as larvitar and it;s mother... the spurt opening just shows his past pokemon thats it.

Nah, Ash never saw his Butterfree again after it went away overseas to lay eggs with the pink Butterfree. I'd love for an episode like that to come out, Butterfree is awesome. But it seems unlikely and the creators probably wouldn't think of doing that at this point in the anime.

Ash released Butterfree, just like Jessie released her Dustox. It's unlikely that they'll meet again.

It was heavily implied that Butterfree was going to die pretty soon whether Ash released it or not. Which means that Butterfree is long gone unfortunately.

Yeah, I wish they would. There has been a flashback to where Ash releases it, so Ash hasn't forgotten about it.
