Hi Ochigi :)

Iv breding is breeding mostly to get certin indivdual values (ivs) ivs impact on how good a stat can be :) ivs range from 0-31 (o being very bad, 31 being perfect)

I breed mainly for competitive/decent pokes.

so for a example a laparas with only 14 ivs in hp will end uop (with out evs) with about 383, but a lapars with 31 hp ivs will be a stat of abotu 402 see the diffrence?

Well Ochigi it can be difficult. Ivs are inherited by both parents.
3 ivs from the father
3 ivs from the mothers.

Say the farther has ivs of 20/13/25/30/1/31
and mother has 31/31/31/31/30/31

if the two are breed the ivs will be random, even though the mother has awesoem ivs, the hatchling may have less then near flawless ivs. It takes a lot of time and effort to iv breed. it is sometimes mostly luck.
