Bleach: The Prequel

As the name clearly states, this RP will act as a sort of prequel to the popular series. It will take place approximately one year prior to the events of the anime and manga.

Overview

As a Shinigami of the Gotei 13, it is your duty to uphold order in both Soul Society and Earth. That much is set in stone. However, what if a single encounter ended up involving you in something more? It is your job to discover that much on your own.

While dealing with Hollows in the real world, or even just lying around here in Soul Society, you undertook a fateful encounter with a Shinigami whom of which was covered with a black cloak. The mysterious being muttered but one phrase to you: "Our time is here. We shall rise up and take back what is ours. United with Hollows, we are unstoppable." The being disappeared soon after, and word of the threat was repeated throughout Seireitei. Word of your encounter also traveled, and you were soon summoned to Sokyoku Hill (otherwise known as the execution grounds; where a clash between Byakuya Kuchiki and Ichigo Kurosaki takes place approximately a year and a half later). When you arrived, you found yourself with a group of others, as well as Captains Aizen Sosuke and Hitsugaya Toushiro along with their Vice-Captains. Apparently, things were about to become interesting.

Mission Briefing: Welcome to Aizen Sosuke and Hitsugaya Toushiro's investigation team. You have now been charged with the task of figuring out the connection between the recent increase in Hollow activity with the cloaked Shinigami you've encountered recently. You have all been chosen due to the fact that you have had an encounter with the Shinigami. Even though you are of but an inferior rank, you have been selected for this important mission. You should feel honored to have this privledge. Be warned, however, that your mission is not to be taken lightly. This could prove to be extremely dangerous, and may even cause your death.

Definitions

For those of you who aren't 100% sure about the elements of the world of Bleach, we give you these helpful definitions courtesy of Wikipedia.

Soul Society: Soul Society consists of two portions, the cities where most people live, called Rukongai; and the walled castle where the spirit world nobility and the shinigami live, known as Seireitei Soul Society is ruled by a royal family, which is protected by a royal guard. Farther down, Central 46 Chambers serves as a supreme judiciary and legislative that is second only to the royal family. The shinigami enforce order in Soul Society as a sort of executive and military branch. All of the above, except the royal family and guard, reside in the Seireitei. The king and the royal family reside in a separate dimension in the very core of Soul Society, which can only be opened with a key, fittingly named the Royal Key. The king's practical role is unknown. The king seems to have no interest in politics and leaves the Central 46 Chambers to such affairs. According to Rangiku Matsumoto, no shinigami in the Gotei 13 has ever seen the king.

Seireitei: Seireitei is in the center of Soul Society, a circular shirō with four main entrances, each guarded by a Gate Guardian. The walls are made of deathstone, a material known to sap all spiritual and psychic energy when one portion is faced in a particular direction, similar to magnetic lodestones. The majority of the residents of Seireitei, nobility and shinigami alike, do not interact with the citizens of Rukongai. However, residents of Rukongai are allowed to apply for the shinigami academy, which is often the only escape from the poorest conditions of Rukongai, such as Renji and Rukia. Some Seireitei residents, such as ex-shinigami Yoruichi Shihouin and the Shiba clan, do maintain residences outside the castle.

Rukongai: Rukongai is divided into 320 districts (80 in North Rukongai, 80 in West Rukongai, etc.), each numbered in descending order on how far they are from the center; this results in the higher-numerated (and farther) districts decaying into slums. Thus, while District 1 is peaceful and lawful (and in many cases resembles the antiseptic lifestyle of early-Edo era Kyoto), District 80 is a hardscrabble, violent, crime-infested area that more depicts Heian era Kyoto. There is no indication that the shinigami or any other agencies patrol the streets of rukongai, and as a result, the citizenry are mainly responsible for their day-to-day welfare.

Gotei 13: The Gotei 13 has 13 divisions (hence the name). Although each of the division could have a specialization, there is too little information to reveal most of them. Notably, the 4th Division is the medic/supply division, the 11th Division is the battle division (specialization in swordsmanship), and the 12th Division is the research/scientific division. In the anime it seems that the 13th Division is in charge of controlling access to Earth, but this has not been stated clearly.

Shinigami: Shinigami are purely spiritual beings. As such they can only be seen by other spiritually aware entities, which excludes most humans. Shinigami naturally give off spiritual force (reiatsu), which varies greatly in magnitude with the strength of the shinigami. Travel between the human world and Soul Society is extremely limited and monitored, but some shinigami are stationed in the human world to carry out their duties, and therefore must often travel between the two. In addition, it is a crime for a shinigami to remain in the human world longer than a certain time limit. A shinigami's duties include leading Pluses (ghosts) to Soul Society in a practice called soul burial (konsō), and the cleansing of hollows (evil spirits).

Hollows: A hollow is a plus spirit that has lost its heart, and is driven to devour others (both living and dead) to fill that void. Starting out as a standard human ghost, the transformation into a hollow warps the ghost into a uniquely monstrous form, though all hollows wear a vaguely skeletal mask and have an obvious hole in their bodies. Any Plus spirit that is not guided to Soul Society by a shinigami may eventually descend into a hollow. The process normally takes months or years, as the Chain of Destiny slowly corrodes, reflecting the warping of the ghost's ties to the living world. However, the process may be accelerated under certain conditions (such as the attack of another hollow or through the use of certain spiritual powers).

Zanpakutou: Most zanpakutō in their sealed form look like katanas, but the shape and form varies by the person. Zanpakutō are not just weapons, but also sentient beings. They are a shinigami's partner in battle and while they can regenerate if broken, they cannot be replaced. As a shinigami gains power, the zanpakutō can change form by allowing the inner being to manifest itself to a greater degree in the outside world. The sword and the inner being are synonymous to each other. It has also been revealed that since zanpakutō are created with the shinigami, they also tend to have a personality based on their owners. Zanpakutō are used to fight hollows and other shinigami as well as to liberate or help pluses ascend to Soul Society.

Name: Touya (Toy-yah) Kiregama
Age: 144 (Appears 14)
Gender: Male
Appearance: Touya's hair consists of two colors- White, and icy blue. His bangs, brushed to the left are pure snow white, while the rest of his hair, combed back, is icy blue. Combined with his pale skin, he would very much look like a dead man if not for his large and innocent sapphire blue eyes, which balanced out the lack of color in his features. He's rarely seen without his eyes wide open in curiousity, or at least without a soft smile on his face, showing just a little of his white teeth. Although he appears to be 15, he is in fact 68, though young for Soul Society, he is without a single piece of evidence revealing his true age. He dislikes the traditional japanese ways of dressing, and prefers to wear a gray long-sleeved net shirt, underneath a pale periwinkle blue sleeveless shirt, along with a ashen black hakama. Covering his torso and midsection is a very long white scarf that loosely wraps around his waist, held in place at the sides of his hips, and wrapping up and around his left shoulder, held in place there by a white brooch- set in a cyan blue ring. The scarf then wraps around his neck, and is then free to move.

In the human world, Touya often appears with his hair colored black- which is really just a temporary thing, as his gigai was not designed to mirror himself exactly. He is often wearing a pair of loose black karate pants that are much too long for him, and a long white and blue cap-sleeved shirt, with the sleeves being blue. A blue sweatband is around his left wrist and a white watch-like wrist band with his signature white brooch sitting inside where the face of the clock would normally be. A pair of plain black dress shoes completes his "blend-in-with-the-humans" attire.

History: Touya originates from Rukongai 80, which wasn't the best influence on anyone. He spent most of his time sneaking into other districts, which ended up getting him in trouble quite a bit. He grew up with a 'no-nonsense' 'every-man-for-himself' attitude, surrounded by people who seemed disfigured like monsters in his eyes. It would be 20 years before he saw someone who looked genuinely human to him, a Shinigami he caught sight of when he snuck into a different Rukongai district. His new aspiration immediately turned to Shinigami, and he resolved to attend the Shinigami Academy as soon as he possibly could. He spent most of his time in Rukongai 80 now, as he rarely snuck into any other more peaceful districts, trying to make himself learn the basics of fighting by watching or joining brawls in the local stores. He learned the basics of street urchin fighting styles here- the fights that included no pride or honor in their names, simply one that lived, and one that died. It was in this way in which he entered the Academy, learning the other aspects of fighting, and becoming adept at Barrier Kidou. It would be 30 years later before he was good enough to be seated in the Gotei 13, starting and staying in the 3rd division, and another 50 years before he reached his current seating- 5th seat, 3rd Division.

Personality: Though Touya is a deadly and merciless killer who seeks to fulfill his own goals before anyone else's, his disposition is far from sullen. He has a sunny and optimistic personality, and is rarely seen without a friendly smile on his face, unless you bring up the subject of how Touya died in the first place, in which his optimism will cave in and he will refrain from speaking with you for a random period of time. Though, if you stay clear of this subject, Touya is a very pleasant and agreeable person, who listens intently to others and is overly innocent. When Touya has a rush of bloodlust, his smile will become a sadistic, insane-like grin, while his normally black pupils turn white with Kazekenkoori's prescence, in which he will become the merciless killer who cares for only himself that he was raised to be in his homeland, and will destroy everyone in his path, as he loses the ability to distinguish ally from enemy.

Zanpakuto: Kazekenkoori's sealed appearance is a small wakizashi, but usually takes on the appearance of a white brooch, the very same one that rests on Touya's shoulder or wrist. When it is released by the term, "Call the Shards of Ice, Kazenkenkoori," the white brooch becomes a floating white orb that cannot be attacked or destroyed directly, and only fades when Touya loses conciousness. This shining orb makes Touya able to control wind and ice to a certain extent, and can also be blown into many thin needles or blades. Touya cannot use just wind or just ice, but both at the same time. Kazenkenkoori takes on the humanly appearance of a pale young girl, that looks about 11. She is very hyper and has a tendency to speak out of line, and see's the world as one big battlefield.

Kidou: Name: Soukatsui
Effect: Blue fire crash, casts a blue wave of spiritual energy at the target
Incantation: O Lord, Mask of flesh and bone, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man, Truth and temperance, Upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws!

Name: Ginomori
Effect: Silver Weights, causes places on the enemy where there is blood on the skin to become 10 pounds heavier.
Incantation: Silver Blood of the dead, shine on the hide of your enemy, weigh him down until he is as still as yourself, Hatred and Pride, paint your power on this canvas of skin, using the red blood of the living.

Name: Kooritoku
Effect: Ice Shield, places a shield of unmeltable ice around the user, which can only be destroyed by another Kidou.
Incantation: Ice Maiden's tears of crystals, become my shield, my power, release your sadness, recoil from the warm world and protect thineself from it's greed.

Other: Touya rarely uses his Zanpakutou, only to perform konsou, but otherwise to take down his foes, he mostly uses martial arts. He is not physically strong, but he is very quick and agile. He has many idols among the Lieutenant and Captain ranks, but he admires Jushirou Ukitake the most out of all the Captains and Lieutenants, even though he would personally dislike being in his division.

Human World Apperance: Even in the human world Kyo's appearance seems rather strange, along his upper body he has a jacket thats design is quite remarkable, rising from the bottom of the jacket are painted flames that seem to be rising up but stop around the mid-section of his stomach, around the shoulder section of the jacket more fire is visible but in a different design, the fire appears to be going in a circle around Kyo's neck making a nice feature which resembles a "Ring of Fire",the rest of the jacket, including the back, are a plain white color.Though there are no sleeves attached to the jacket, the presence of a zipper line is noticible even though the sections arent zipped together, from his wrists to the tip of his elbow the sleeves are present, thought fastened down with gloves, which are fingerless, that extend from the beginning of his fingers to the beginning of the sleeves, ensuring they dont fall off during any roughousing of any sort, both, sleeves and gloves, are pure black. Lower then that, on his legs and waist, are black pants with a design of a red swirls on the calf as well as the shin. On feet are his white shoes. Hair, quite longer then his actual hair, is dark brown with split ends, his eyes bear the color black.

Soul Society Appearance:
This is the style which Kyo finds himself most pleasent with, his hair, the way it was meant to be, shorter then the gigi's, is completley dark red all over, though the hair ends at about the middle of his neck, it still presents wavy smoothness that is easily moved even with a gentle breeze passing by, his eyes are also the color of red. Though Kyo wears the robe of the Shinigami, he always has the top half down revealing different clothing on the inside. The inside contents of the robe is a dark red shirt which resembles Kyo's hair color as an almost exact copy of it, along the shoulders are again the present of zipper lining, but here in Soul Society, the zippers are attached to black sleeves which follow all the way down to his dark red gloves which, unlike the gigi's, have fingers. The bottom of body is just the robed tied together tightly with a black cloth to make sure the robe doesnt slide down and perhaps interfere with his walking/running, under it though, are gaucho pants which are black, they lead down to a tied knot right before his sandels of the Shinigami begin.

History: Kyo hails from Seireitei, the place of nobels and such. As a toddler, Kyo wanted to gain power and become stronger, while just hanging out with his friends, they decided to do a little investigative work and spy on shinigami students taking tests to become official Shinigami.Of course since Kyo is hardheaded and doesnt understand the difference between power, he thinks of the shinigami as worthless and weak people with fancy names just to think they are strong. One day while a Shinigami was taking a stroll through, he ran up to him and kicked him in the shin yelling soon after "You arent so stuff, whats so special about Shinigami anyways!?". Balling his hands up into a fist as though preparing to fight. The shinigami merely brushed him off and did a Kido, Kin, Kyo fell to the floor struggling asking what it was, the Shinigami merely walked away without saying anything. Kyo laid there for a good ten minutes before getting up and realizing he wasnt binded by the kido anymore. Man..why am I so dumb, I should of known that I couldnt be a match for an adult, but he cheated!. With that last thought, Kyo wanted to be able to get more power and become stronger like the Shinigami, because he knew deep down that the Shinigami did no such thing as cheat, but just didnt want to get into a bicker quarrel with a kid. To acquire this power he had enrolled into the academy and then became a Shinigami.

Personality: For some reason this guys blood is always boiling as if to explode at the brink of the tiniest little misfortune that might cross his path, though very ill-tempered, he does think of his comrades if danger were to cross there paths but, like always, he looks out for number one before everyone else, if a situation were to go out of hand, it is guranteed that Kyo will make sure he is safe before trying to help another. Kyo, however, does care for Scryer even if is not visible to people, its whats on the inside that counts for him. Towards everyone, he might look like a self indulged idiot and very hard headed, but hes a good fighter with a good heart to go along with it. Kyo even has a small soft side for Hollows, though he is one that "frees" people from the capturing of Hollows, he always wonders to himself "What happens after the battle?". Demented thinking and rash decisions are what keep Kyo on his toes and ready for anything to come.

Zanpakuto:Scryer is the name of Kyo's Zanpakuto, though it looks like any other Zanpakuto when sealed it has a truley maginificent site once called. Once the words "Burn Intensly, Scryer!" are spoken, the swords hilt and blade split, making another blade appear, but there is one difference between the two blades on the same hilt, the newly appeared blade is one of pure flames while the other one widens, lengthens, and is lined by fire, though not as much as the other one. One may think the weight on the user by the sword could cause extreme difficulties but for Kyo its a simple walk in the park. Scryer is a extrodinary Lion who is enfluged into flames, though Scryer's apperance is quite frighting, hes really a big coward normally, sometimes even in battle it still traits some of its cowardly traits.

Ah..my face, it feels extremley hot..... Opening my eyes,I find that I am on the shore of what appeared to be a beach. Thing is,I dont remember how I came upon this place..Wait, thats it,last night,While I was on a boat a friend of mine back at Lougetown let me borrow,there appeared to be a storm brewing,but of course, being the simple minded person that I am, I put it in the back of my mind thinking nothing were to happen, lucky me I seemed to have dozed off and well,im guessing those planks of broken wood and that bow near me are all parts of my boat. To think, I was going to travel in that little boat and try to achieve something of myself, how foolish, when I think back to it now it seems like it was just yesterday that I decided to leave Lougetown and explore the world for what it really is. But on a boat the size of this, what was i really thinking.

This seems like a good place to ask From the beach i headed toward the mainland and decided to check out the market place to at least determine my location.Looking around for any people that might appear friendly, I glanced over at a man with odd tattoo's running down his arm, there was no way i was going to ask someone like that, he seemed like the type to start trouble at the slightest things, I brushed it off and turned around before noticing one particular tattoo Straw-Hat!.Walking away, I felt as though the young adult was indeed a pirate, and not just small fry.

Continung to look around i saw a man that was completley battered, the bruises and woundes seemed to run all around his body. "Sir, do you need any assistance?" I started towards the man and suprisingly he pulled away rather annoyed
"I dont need any damn help from selfish punks anymore,im going to the local doctor, child now move from my path!" He replied remarkinably rudley.Of course,I did as the man said not wanting to make such a big fuss, even though my only objective was just to help.

"Really?Thank you so much little one!" After asking around and finding someone that wasnt rude or obnoxious,There was a little girl who happily told me the information I wanted, I was currently in Cocoyashi Village.But man, what do i do now, where do i go, how do i begin.All these questions I have for myself, ugh its a bit annoying."What I am certain that I need is a boat, heading back to Lougetown might be whats best, at least until i can come up with a new idea or concept on how or where to start with my dream" I must of looked weird to some people, because I was talking aloud to myself, looking down, and walking.Hmm there goes that same guy from earlier, postive thats him, i can clearley see the Straw-Hat symbol on him, from my point of view he appears to be lost, as he is just standing there staring into blank space, AH!I know, i can offer some assistance, I really dont know much about this town but from the looks of it he didnt either, and as they say, two heads are better then one.Time to make my way past this crowd and over to him.

Name: Akemi Yokoai
Age: 155
Gender: Female

Appearance:
Soul Society- Akemi wears her Shinigami garments in an unusual fashion; much like a yukata-style kimono. It appears to be similar to a black yukata aside from the lower portion. The area around the legs is much wider, allowing for better mobility while running. White stockings also climb up her legs. The obi is made of white fabric, and ties into a white bow around her back. She generally wears her straight, white hair in a ponytail that flows halfway down her back, and her eyes are a shade of white that appears almost grey. Thus, the pupils stand out the most on her eyes. On the top, right side of her head, Akemi has a cherry blossom that never seems to wither, and hasn't even shown signs of doing so during the last 155 years of her life. She is fairly tall, only standing at about 5'8", and she seemingly has a very frail build. Looks aside, she isn't frail at all. On her feet, she wears a standard pair of geta. Akemi keeps her zanpakutou, Tentougokuin, in an ordinary scabbard on the left side of her body; opposite from her dominant hand. The hilt of Tentougoukin stands out on her black clothing, as it is pure white.

Human World- Akemi's gigai takes on a form similar to her own. The most noticable differences at the differences in colouring. Her eyes take on a dark shade of blue, and her hair recieves a blonde colour to it. Her hair also changes from straight to wavy, but she keeps the cherry blossom on her head, however. She generally wears a pair of white pants along with an ordinary white blouse while in her gigai, a pair of white running shoes accompanying them. She also wears a silver necklace with a charm in the form of a cross.

History: Akemi was born and abandoned in Rukongai 79 along with her twin brother, Kuro. Here they were found by an elderly man whom of which they grew to call "father." While they grew up in Rukongai 79, they were strongly influenced by stories about Seireitei and those who resided there. Shinigami, Captains, Lieutenants, they heard all of the storied. They were primarily influenced by the stories of Yachiru Kusajishi, the Lieutenant of the 11th Division. Apparently, after she was found by Kenpachi Zaraki and Kenpachi defeated the Captain of the 11th Division and took his place, many stories had reached out to Rukongai 79. Together, Akemi and Kuro trained to be Shinigami themselves with the help of the man they called father. They eventually enrolled in the Shinigami Academy, where they learned the basics of being a Shinigami of the Gotei 13. Here they made many friends, and were quite popular due to the fact that they were an oddity. Twin Shinigami were a rare sight indeed. When they finally learned the names of their Zanpakutou, their appearances changed. Akemi's hair and eyes turned white, and Kuro's turned black. They were still obviously twins, but at the same time, they felt distant from what they were before. In the end, they graduated with flying colours, and took the 19th and 20th seats in the 11th Division recently. They finally got to meet their idol, and even got to serve under her. Unfortunately, they also got cursed with nicknames from the childish Lieutenant...

Personality: Akemi is by far, the most naive of the twins. If it wasn't for Kuro being with her almost constantly, chances are she'd be conned out of all of her money, or even worse in some cases. Although she is naive, she is also the most persistant of the two. When she has an idea in her head that she believes in strong enough, she'll stop at nothing to make those thoughts reality. For example, if not for her, Kuro would have given up on becoming a Shinigami just before they entered the Academy. Her appearance and attitude may make her seem like a pushover at times, but she is far from that. During combat, she shows no mercy, and can sometimes go out of control when provoked enough. Only when provoked, however, does she reveal her true capabilities. She is very kind, and easy to make friends with. Of course, her bond with Kuro is very strong, and she gets very jealous when he is hanging around with other girls. She feels its her duty to protect him from basically... everything. Despite everything, her emotions are very frail, and it doesn't take much to make her upset.

Zanpakutou: Tentougokuin [Heaven's Seal]- Tentougokuin's sealed form is like that of most zanpakutou. It is basically just a katana inside of a scabbard. The only notable difference is the white hilt it posesses. The incantation for its initial release is "Bring down infinite judgment! Tentougokuin!" While in its initial release, Tentougokuin takes on the form of a thin white blade (in a similar style to Ichigo Kurosaki's Zangetsu during bankai) bound to a white staff with white chains. She holds the blade in her right hand, and the staf in her left, the chair usually spanning either behind her back, or in front of her chest. Since her weapons aren't as heavy as most, she is faster than most, but she is still easily outrun by quite a few people. Tentougokuin's special ability allows the creation of imperfect illusions using light during combat. Imperfect in the sense that there are often things wrong with the illusions that allow for opponents to see through them. Effect: A relatively advanced healing technique that can reach from an average distance. Healing is general and not specialized, and therefore not as effective as specialized techniques for specific wounds. As the distance increases, however, the efficiency of Aotenohira decreases.
Incantation: Though from great distance, let great pain be healed by the kindness in my hand... Demon Art, Aotenohira!

Name: Clef Blanc
Effect: Chanting the incantation, a large blanket of white, shimmering substance is cast. It hovers above the user at around fifty feet, usually covering a greater area, but can be resized. As light filters through the substance, it acts as a catalyst and turns the light into a healing rain that will affect the user and all allies within the range of the blanket. Potent to heal all minor wounds, moderately deep slashes and close even the deepest of wounds, though not really healing the latter. Will wash away any poison and rejuvenates the muscles and mind, removing fatigue. Works for two minutes before fading, and all objects subject to healing may move freely while the spell is in effect. This kidou takes a great amount of Akemi's power, and is only used as a last resort.

Name: Kuro Yokoai
Age: 155
Gender: Male

Appearance:
Soul Society- Standing at the same height as Akemi, Kuro takes on a much darker look in comparison to his female counterpart. He wears his Shinigami garments much like a hooded robe that flows down to just above his knees, with a seperate piece of the same outfit in a style similar to a very baggy pair of black pants. He wears the white sash that most Shinigami wear around their waists on his forehead, allowing his black hair to slip over it. His hair is shoulderlength with long bangs, and his eyes as black as night, which often has him mistaken for being blind. When the situation warrants it, Kuro may remove his robe to reveal a black muscle shirt along with his muscular build underneath. He also wears standard wooden sandals like most Shinigami. Kuro has his right ear pierced, in which he keeps a gold earring. He also wears a pair of black sunglasses over the sash on his forehead during the times he isn't wear the glasses. Like Akemi, he has his Zanpakutou in a scabbard on the left side of his body.

Human World- While in the real world, the only physical features that alter are his hair and eye colour. His hair turns blonde, and his eyes turn blue like Akemi's do in her gigai. This gives them a sense of being perfect twins again, a feeling they once lost. He wears a pair of dark blue jeans, as well as a black hoodie, a black muscle shirt underneath it much like the one under his robe. He wears a pair of black running shoes with white socks, and he still wears his earring in his right ear.

History: See Akemi's history above.

Personality: Since he is easily embarassed, Kuro is a lot less bubbly than Akemi, and a lot quieter as well. He doesn't like being with large groups, which tends to cause issues since Akemi loves to be with with, and they are almost always together. He isn't as overprotective of her as she is of him, although he is constantly looking out for her since she has a tendancy to wind up in trouble. Kuro himself is not entirely perfect in that respect, either. He still has issues with some things he preformed in Rukongai 79, such as pilfering minor items like food and ocassionally pricier. He generally keeps personal matters and opinions between Akemi and himself, since he'd rather not have people worrying about him, even though Akemi generally acts as a mediator and tells others anyways. When it comes to fighting, Kuro is far from enthusiastic. Despite the fact that he was trained specifically for that reason, he is still pained with memories from their past; memories Akemi isn't even aware of.

Zanpakutou: Narakugokuin [Hell's Seal]- In it's sealed form, Narakugokuin takes the form of a normal katana in all respects. The incantation for the initial release is as follows: "Trample the Holy grounds and consume all impurities! Narakugokuin!" Narakugokuin's appearance during initial release is that of a large (about 2 meters long), thick, black blade that is in the shape of a zigzig, with a strip of dark purple zigzaging down the center of both sides of the blade. It lacks a crossguard. Narakugokuin's ability allows Kuro to launch blades of darkness from shadows as a suprise attack. Narakugokuin's true for is that of a large shadow bat, a ball of black energy in it talons.

Name: Sayu Higurashi
Age: 172
Gender: Female
Appearance:

Soul Society: Sayu is about 5"7 with long olive green hair. Her eyes are about the same color against her rather pale skin. She doesn't have much of a bust to brag about, but she's extremely light and frail looking. Being a shrine maiden in her previous life, she likes the traditional clothes of the shinigami. She wears a plain white headband on her forehead which in the center is the kanji of enlightenment which is '英语'. Sayu's trademark item though is the necktight black velvet ribbon (not bow) that has a fairly large silver bell at the end. On her left arm is a beaded bracelet with alternating dark blue and white beads; her zanpakutou. Sayu wears the standard Japanese zori sandals.

Human World: In the human world, Sayu looks more along the age of 24. Her hair becomes black and she usually ties it back with a white ribbon. Her top consists of a black turtleneck (no matter what the season) and white pants. Her left arm is decorated with two watches, each with a different time zone while the left are is a beaded bracelet with alternating dark blue and white beads. On her feet are dark blue sandals; other types of shoes just aren't traditional'.

History: Sayu is originally from Rukongai 1, but believed it morally wrong to allow Rukongai to live in the way it has. When given the opportunity, she would occasionally sneak into the lower levels of Rukongai to better understand what conditions they lived under. One time though when she had sneaked towards Rukongai 80, she came across a younger girl named Diaon who she became friends with. On one fateful day, Diaon was accused of stealing; though she pleaded she was framed. As the mob of people around the area prepared to beat her, Sayu stuck up for her and attempted to stand in her defense. Because of her carelessness, she was knocked unconscious, and when she awoke, Diaon was not to be found. After this incident, Sayu realized that she wouldn't be able to do anything about the world in the conditions she was in now, so she applied for the shinigami academy.

Personality: One of the least things that one would think when first seeing Sayu and her simple expressions is that she can pretty much be defined as a mute. She rarely talks unless she's reciting an incantation, explaining something that needs to be explained, or in battle. Diaon was one of the few friends she'd ever really had a conversation with. She has always been like this, but she never really needed to talk because her head is either in a book or fighting hallows and is a strong believer in the phrase 'actions are stronger than words'. As a way of simple communication though, the bell around her neck chimes at differnet pitches with her mood when she cues it to by the movement of her head. She's a bit reserved and timid when meeting people besides in shinigami business. Sayu has a strict manner of being trustworthy while keeping promises and can be extremely loyal when making one. In her eyes everything has a point, and if the point isn't good enough to support the perpose, then the perpose isn't even worth considering. Sayu dislikes aggressive people and takes time to think before she acts. She's considered a bit odd with her mannerisms and for her quiet atmosphere, though she is persistent and stubborn with what she wants done.

Zanpakuto: Satagara is the name of her Zanpakuto, and it's sealed shape is that of her bracelet. It is unleashed through the words "Light our path, Satagara!" so that the bracelet turns into a Hira shuriken that is about half her size. The shuriken itself is grey, while the blade tips are white. It acts like a boomerang and can only be thrown and will return to Sayu; this takes a large amount of energy and complete concentration if Satagara's path is blown off course when returning. Satagara's appearance is human-like while her personality is ice cold and terse; she's bitter because she feels no one should be happy because no one deserves it.

Kido (Demon Arts):
Name: Koudou (Light of the Zodiac)
Effect: A blast of white energy bursts from the Satagara.
Incantation: From the light of the stars that foresee the future, show the pains of the past!

Other: Satagara's personality is based more on Sayu's qualms with reality. While Hotarubi can be cold and harsh, Sayu tries to counter her ideas with optimistic views.

Name: Moriki (Miki) Midori
Age: 168 (Appears to be 17)
Gender: Female
Appearance: (Only the hair in the image matches Miki's appearance.) Miki has long ashy black hair, reaching her knees, that has a choppy cut. She has a soft complexion, with a quiet smile and bright amber eyes, which match the amber colored ribbon she wears around her neck as a choker. She wears her shinigami robes capsleeved, but they are otherwise not special or unique in any way. She wears a longsleeved turtleneck fashioned out of bandages underneath, which covers her entire torso and hands, for reasons unknown to all but herself. She has a flat, near non-existant chest and few curves, leaving her easily mistaken for a male if not for her face and hair.

In the human world, she wears a loose, dark forest green turtle neck, hiding the bandages underneath, and a black miniskirt with a white pattern of 'x's across the bottom. A long silver necklace hangs around her neck, and a pair of black shin-high form-fitting uggs on her feet. Her hair remains mostly as it is, but she holds back her hair with black clips, leaving her bangs on her forehead. When it's too warm to wear her turtleneck, she wears a lime green tube top over her bandages.

History: Moriki Midori died at the age of 13 from a deadly sickness that was passed down in her family, but lived an otherwise normal life.

Miki hails from Rukongai district 32, where she lived peacefully for most of her lifetime. Though her feelings of hunger did baffle the old couple in which she spent all her years in Rukongai living with, she was well-treated and never found the need to fight, save for the few scuffles between stubborn men haggling over prices, in which she was never involved with. Living with the old and frail couple, Miki learned to be gentle and giving, spending little time worrying about herself while their health very slowly began to ail. It was 50 years before the old man finally felt as if he were at his limit, and the man pushed Miki to join the Shinigami Academy, keeping her from experiencing the two's death. During her years at the Shinigami Academy, she excelled, though kept her innocent outlook on life, not knowing what it meant to have true loss. During her third round in the Academy, she and her class were sent on a scouting lesson of the human world, watching other Shinigami do their jobs. This was her first witness of death, watching as the shingami was impaled by a gigantic hollow, which soon set it's sights on the mass of Shinigami souls it smelled in the air. Frightened, Miki fled with the rest of her class back to Soul Society, and was in a state of shock at the sight of such a brutal death for a good number of weeks before she recovered. She still has an innocent, "Everyone can be saved" outlook on life, but it became so shaken up that that resolve is as fragile as glass. She was placed into the 4th division, 9th seat.

Personality: Miki is very kind and caring, knowing a plethora of healing spells and being an all-around pacifist. She's not the best at battling, as she's rather timid and shaky whenever something of great threat appears, and she's mostly a cowardly crybaby. She has nearly no assertion, which ends up her being used to do lot's of leftover chores for other division's, though she's always glad to help, she often ends up exhausting herself this way. Miki, though a ground based Zanpakuto, has little stamina and strength, and isn't very strong in her arguments. The only thing Miki has to her name is that she's very down to earth, and rarely believes anything that doesn't follow normal logic, and nor does she believe in anything that isn't planted solidly in science or fact. Miki has a very bad habit of shaking like a leaf whenever she's nervous or scared, and often during these times, she shuts down entirely, her normally down-to-earth attitude gone to who knows where. She's the embodiment of your classic 4th division stereotype, multiplied by a million.

Zanpakuto: ShinrinRisho is an earth based zanpakuto, though his ability only utilizes the earth, instead of actually controlling it. In it's sealed form, it takes on the appearance of a longer then average katana with a plain circular sword guard, though it lacks a sheath. ShinrinRisho's initial release is five different yo-yo's that have sharp green blades on them, which retract on Miki's command. They plant mines (seeds in appearance) in anything solid it cuts, and if it manages to cut Miki's opponent, (though they're hard to control at that point) the cut will immediately implode, though with less force then the mines sowed in the ground. This is mostly used to disable the foe's free movement, but high level hollows and Shinigami can see the mines clear as day, as they take on the appearance of red vines that stand straight from the ground up into the sky. Miki is also vulnerable to these mines if ShinrinRisho is not in her hands, but otherwise, the Zanpakuto nullifies the explosion whenever Miki brushes against a mine.

ShinrinRisho is a very patient beast, though it has an explosive temper, which is rarely seen. It is mostly quiet, and does not speak intelligent human languages, instead it croons or roars in it's own dragon-speak. It is released with the phrase, "Ignite! ShinrinRisho"

Effect: Casts a red ball of spiritual energy at target.

Gender: Male
Appearance: In teh human world he wears a black shirt and pants, along with red shoes, a red vest and red hair that hangs down to his waist. He has red eyes and has a red sash that goes from his left shoulder to his waist and around his back. In the soul society he looks th esame, but wears a black shirt and white samurai pants, along with sandals. He has a rather large sword strapped to his back, when its pulled out it actually has a serrated edge on one side, the solid cleave on the other. it has a scyth like hook at the end thats about two feet long and teh entire blade section of the sword has a handle running through the core.

History: He lived in 13 south Rukongai his entire life, not sure what to do as for the fact he lived alone his entire life. He was your average kid, always getting into trouble, always seeming to be doing one thing or another to get on somones nerves. Untill he saw someone get hurt from his prank, then he vowed to stop. He hasnt pulled a prank since he was 7 years old. His father had moved on, and his mother was killed by the grand fisher hollow.

Personality: He is kind and caring, but can be rough around the edges at times. He dose his best to protect the ones he can, even if it means putting his life on the line. He goes 'where the wind takes him' as he puts it, traveling alone as not to put anyone else in harms way.

Zanpakuto: Kyusetsuki(kyu for short). Kyu is the sword strapped to haru's back at all times in the soul society, It takes the form of an older man with long white hair, and a black cloak, his eyes are pale grey and blind. He dose not need to see to know where he is going however.

Kido (Demon Arts):
Name: Shiraioku
Effect: coats Kyusetsuki in a golden aura that links to his wrist, allowing him to throw it and have it come back to him
Incantation: "Golden chains of light, bind me to my blade! Demon art, Shiraioku!"

Other: He travels around alot in the soul society, learning of the human world so he can 'fit in' once he gets there. IF he gets there that is.

Okay, I'm going to start now. We're going to start after the meeting, an I'll describe what happened during the meeting briefly in my post. Basically, we're getting ready to go to the human world to investigate the increased amount of Hollow appearances. So, we'll be crossing over through Senkaimon into the human world. Our characters will actually start socializing at that point.

IC: "Aren't you excited Kuro? It's our first real trip to the human world on a real mission!" The highly energetic Akemi exclaimed as she clung to her twin brothers right arm, sitting her head on his shoulder. Kuro's black eyes glanced down at her as his head turned in her direction. Everything had happened so fast for the two of them. The encounter during an investigation in Rukongai 51, the meeting with Captains Aizen Sosuke and Hitsugaya Toushiro earlier in the day, the strange group of others that had experienced a similar encounter, it all made no sense to them. Either way, the old men up in the Central 46 Chambers must have been concerned enough to form a team consisting mainly of those who encountered the mysterious being.

At the meeting, they were informed of many things. The dramatic increase of Hollow appearances in the human world, the Shinigami disappearances, and their new duties as a part of the investigation team. Their first mission was a simple one. They were to go to the human world in gigais provided by Kisuke Urahara and watch Hollow movement for the time being, thwarting any actions by these Hollows. The team consisted of six members, and the two captains emphasized that it may not even be enough to deal with the increased activity around Karakura Town.

"Don't overexert yourself before we even get to the human world, Akemi." Kuro finally replied as the two finally stood right before the gate. "After all, this isn't training excersises like we used to do at the Academy, this is the real thing. I don't want you leaving my side when we get there, either. Who knows what you'd end up doing..."

Akemi let go of her brother, and turned to face him before sticking her tongue out at him. "You know, you need to learn to trust me more!"

"Sure, sure. Maybe when you stop being naive."

"I'm not naive!"

"Oh yes you are..."

The two quickly shut their mouths when they felt an overwhelming presence behind them. They turned around to find themselves looking at Captain Hitsugaya, and his Lieutenant, Matsumoto Rangiku. "Matsumoto... Why are there immature children involved in this operation?" Hitsugaya said coldly, obviously quite frustrated. The nature of his mood was shown even more by his crossed arms and irritated look on his face.

"Why? Wants wrong with them? They're just siblings after all." Matsumoto replied, obviously making an attempt to justify the wrong-doing of the twins. "You can't honestly tell me you and Momo never get into stupid arguments like that, even if you are just childhood friends! It's the same thing! Besides, you aren't exactly a grown adult yourself..." Hitsugaya was obviously irritated by that last comment, but decided not to say anything at that time.

"Anyways, arrangements for your gigais have been made with Kisuke Urahara. They should be ready upon your arrival. You will meet the other four members outside of Urahara's shop, and then you will commence the operation, understood?"

"Yes sir, Captain Hitsugaya." The twins said in-synch before turning and making there way into Senkaimon, and abruptly appearing just outside of Urahara's shop. There was no sign of Urahara, but the six gigai were just lying on the ground before them. Seeing no need to wait, the two entered the corresponding gigais, and sat on the steps of the shop in wait for the others.

"Man these things feel cramped..." Akemi sighed as she leaned back. All she got from her brother was a quiet "Get used to it."

Name: Amaraiha [Rai] Murasaki
Age: 139
Gender: Female

Appearance:
Soul Soceity: /The image ish basically accurate, just ignore her sword// Rai has long, silky purple hair, almost reaching down to her calf. Although it is most often tied into a high ponytail, held by a white bow, she is prone to tying it in a more… eccentric style. Her eyes are a very distinct vivid yellow and are usually the one that first draw attention. She boasts a creamy complexion and an hourglass figure, kept hidden beneath her clothes. She dons her Shinigami wardrobe much differently than the others, which she sees as adding flair to the simple black shihakushou. She adds very loose and flowing white sleeves underneath her short-sleeved black robe and her hakama extends at the back, slightly tattered and peculiar with its floral designs. As for footwear, she grudgingly wears the custom geta and tabi, although she would very much prefer walking barefoot. She also wears a golden anklet with a small bell pendant on her right foot; it is concealed, however, because of her tabi.

Human world: In the human world, Rai's gigai basically looks like her still, with few notable differences. Her eyes alter into a more subtle amethyst and her hair is an inch or two shorter. She still has her outlandish sense of style, and isn't afraid to flaunt it. Her current favorite consists of very baggy knee-length shorts and a tight-fitting tank top. The sides of her shorts have huge slits than run up to the shorts' belt, connected by crisscrossing ribbons. Her tank top is black and short (the fabric ends right where her third rib is, she counted), leaving much of her torso exposed, with a cerulean hooded vest on top. She wears short black combat boots to finish of her look. She also sports quite a few accessories; navy-tinted goggles she either hangs around her neck or on top of her head, a thin silver armband and dangling bracelets on either wrists.

History: Rai was born in Rukongai 69, which isn't one of the most ideal areas to be brought up on. Not that it's as worse as the other districts, though. What with being abandoned (not quite abandoned, actually, considering they said goodbye) at a young age, she was left to care for herself. She lived from pilfered or often, hunted food and made do with what little she had. She was content with her humble way of living, pleased by the fact that there aren't that many children who can take care of themselves. It wasn't until she overheard a story about the Gotei 13 that she decided she was bored of her current state. From the information she received eavesdropping, her mind were filled with what she imagined the shinigami from the Gotei 13 looked like. She even pictured herself as a part of one of the divisions, looking high and mighty with her shihakushou. Eager to fulfill her current dream, she worked hard on honing her fighting skills – she proved to be adept in winning brawls, but she knew she still lacked the acceptable strength – training whilst she did her daily rounds of stealing. Satisfied by her improvements, she entered the Shinigami Academy and graduated, slightly earlier than most. Afterward, she eventually got a place in the Gotei 13; 10th Division, 17th seat.

Personality: Albeit it isn't obvious from the way she looks, Rai has a couple of very notable quirks. Actually, to say she is quirky is a huge understatement. She can't stand anything plain and normal and simple, usually striving to prompt others to be different. She has an overactive imagination – cursed with it, her friends would say – the culprit behind her outlandish perspective. From the way she talks, to the way she walks, she adds little bits of eccentricity that make her stand out. Always pert and blithe, she is enthusiastic with her job and still persistently forces creativity out of everyone.

In spite of her seemingly carefree and reckless behavior, Rai is actually very bright. She is extremely perceptive (it helps her notice the odd things she adores so), detecting even the tiniest details others fail to notice. She has a near-eidetic memory, usually remembering images, sounds, or any object at a second glance. If she is ever caught in a very dangerous situation, she has a tendency to approach the circumstance with a strategic standpoint; at the very least, she will make sure she is four steps ahead, armed with countless of opportunities she can seize whenever. This side of her, however, she conceals. In fact, almost everyone deem her to be a dunce, what with her behavior and all.

Overall, Rai's idiosyncratic demeanor has never failed to lighten up someone's mood. She is very extroverted, always a good source for a companion. When in battle, her innovative schemes almost always surprise the enemy, giving her a good advantage, but she usually messes up by acting a bit too foolish; she can never take things seriously. She can be particularly arrogant, though not too cocky that she can't admit a mistake, and has to get a better a grip on her temper. Still, she can never stay mad for so long.

Zanpakuto: Rai's zanpakuto, Naruryu, is an elemental-type, more specifically lightning based. Its sealed form is that of a chiisakatana with a slightly distorted zigzagged streak, reminiscent of lightning, embedded on the crossguard. Disregarding its slightly shorter length, it looks like an ordinary zanpakuto, complete with its sheath, although the hilt is amethyst in color. Naruryu's initial release command is "Fear the wrath of the heavens! Naruryu!" In its initial release, Naruryu takes on the appearance of two bladed tonfas, one bright blue and the other an electric purple. The blades are attached to the shaft, arching like those of a scythe. Naruryu's ability allows Rai to control lightning and thunder; Rai mainly uses this to paralyze an opponent. She uses her tonfas as rods, so that every strike she delivers is charged with stunning electricity.

Naruryu's true form is a dragon, bright blue with a tinge of indigo. It is very silent and composed, a contrast to the vociferous Rai. It speaks in a tongue different to the human's, but Rai seems to understand it.

Kido (Demon Arts):

Name: Thunder Roar Cannon
Effect: A large white lightning blast emanates from casters fist in a huge swirl. It will push the target backwards with a massive force.
Incantation: "Sprinkled on the bones of the beast! Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring. Move and become the wind, stop and become the calm. The sound of warring spears fills the empty castle."

Name: Kuraisora
Effect: The exuded reiatsu takes the form of a mini-thundercloud. The thundercloud will loom over Rai's opponent, showering them with cold rain with, of course, the occasional claps of thunder and lighting strikes. It will last for about twenty minutes.
