Interesting links, but, yeah, not complete.

For anyone that's unsure if my method works, here's some pics :D

Edit: Just checked - It appears that an Octagonal Movement system would suffice in dungeons and treasure town

Just wondering, if someone has time, could I get a tileset cobbled up from http://www.spriters-resource.com/ds/pkmndungeon2/sheet/5979/ and
http://www.spriters-resource.com/ds/pkmndungeon2/sheet/5972/? I thought I might as well get started on compiling a Treasure Town, with scripts and all. In addition, I'd need Kecleon (Both of 'em), Kangaskan, Duskull, Xatu, Electrivire and Chansey, Preferably Kangaskan, then Kecleon and then the others.

I realise that there hasn't been a post here in a while, but I've recently worked on it a bit more, and I've got a decent bit of news - I've modified the passability of tiles to allow you to walk on water tiles IF the first Pokemon in the party is a water type, and allows you to walk on lava tiles IF the first Pokemon in the party is a fire type. I'll work on the IQ skill bit now

Thanks for continuing work on this. That's great that you have terrain setting coming together. As for me I am still silently working on gathering resources, mainly tiles and sprites. I will compile them soon.

No problem :) I want this just as much as anyone. Also, as for tiles and sprites, The ones at The Spriter's Resource *should* work, but they'll need to be resized in some way. Just with preliminary testing, the Treasure town tiles don't match up to the OW's, which are too small. So, while it might just be a case of doubling, it could be a bit more than that.

Aaand just got a basic Kecleon shop up and running! Admittedly, at the moment, it uses a pre-defined array of items, but I think that's proper, as we don't want things like Golden Ribbons and TM's popping up in greenie's shop (In Treasure Town, that is!)!

Just thinking ahead again, Wonder Mail. Really, there are 3 ways we could do this, 1, don't do it at all(While it's not crucial, it's a very useful feature), 2. Attempt to translate this: http://www.upokecenter.com/content/pokemon-mystery-dungeon-passwords, 3. Make up another, similar-ish system and use that for the passwords. I mean, if someone is able to turn the above link into a decipherer in Ruby, great! Then we could use the actual Wondermail system. However, I'm leaning towards just making a new one, primarily because of the fact that existing codes COULD be used, and that just gets into a whole new level of mess...

Only real reason that I can see as to not do it is just the inter-game relationship. If we have two different games both not having modified the code, then either ones codes could work... Then, really, we could just set up a system of requiring to be online to review entered codes, and verify them against a file online to see if it exists, and if it does, use it.

Anyway, just my thoughts

Little update: I've started adding in the items, and, with them, their artwork. I've got the following items added in, not functional, but registered:
Spoiler:

I've also implemented the icons for the scarves/belts/bands/caps, including the Gold Ribbon, which I've actually done a recoloured sprite for, to make it look gold :D

Hey guys. I'm completely new here, as my search for "Mystery Dungeon Starter Kit" led to this thread. I'm extremely interested in working on a PMD game set after humans go extinct/almost extinct in the regions we've played in regular Pokemon games, set from the point of view of two Pokemon that have no idea humans even existed in a Pokemon society where humans are nothing but a distant memory. I first thought about novelizing it, but then I decided that putting it out in game form would be a lot more impactful, and there is no end to the ideas that I have for the game itself. However, my best talent is in writing, and so I looked for an easy way to design a PMD game, and here I am today. My question is, is this project dead? Hibernating? The last post was more than a year ago, and if anything I'd like to help in any way I can. My apologies for necro'ing, and quite possibly being a bother, but something about the way Mystery Dungeon tells its story is the biggest inspiration for my writing that I think I've ever had. I want to restore the feels that a lot of us Pokemon fans have for the PMD series, combining the nostalgia of our well-known regions that are now in ruin, with an amazing story that will impress older audiences. This project would help make that a reality, and the concept excites me to no end. Thank you!

You knew you were necro-posting, and yet you did it anyway. That doesn't make you look good.
