I've just noticed that the PGL announced a new tournament, it will be held from Friday, December 16, at 00:00 UTC, until Sunday, December 18, at 23:59 UTC. Off course I'm not ready for it as, I still need to prepare 4 Pokémon for this tournament. As their is only one special Pokémon allowed, I thought to go with Solgaleo, I've got one off them ready for tournaments. The question is which Pokémon I would go with?

Here is more info about the tournament: https://3ds.pokemon-gl.com/information/200e0ae6-bd5b-4ca9-8508-ceb361153306

  • The one intriguing thing about this tournament is held items being banned, especially since it's usually a staple of the competitive scene.

Ok, I wanted to ask other people their opinion. I want to compete in the Battle of Alola, the tournament that the PGL is holding the next weekend. I tried testing a team for the upcoming tournament, but it was a big failure ( I've fought 11 times and I lost 10 times). I feel a bit unsure now. So, I wanted to ask what the best team is that I can make from the following Pok?mon (they all are level 100):

    Porygon-Z
Adaptability; Timid; EV: 252 SpAtt, 252 Speed, 6 HP; 6 IV (I used a gold bottle cap on it)
    - Recover
    - Hyper beam
    - Tri Attack
    - Dark Pulse

    Talonflame
Gale Wings; Jolly; EV: 252 Att, 252 Speed, 6HP; 1IV
    - Flare Blitz
    - Brave bird
    - Me First
    - Tailwind

    Mimikyu
    Disguise; Jolly; EV: 252 Att, 252 Speed, 2HP, 2 Sp Def, 2 Def; 0IV
    - Shadow Sneak
    - Play Rough
    - Leech Life
    - Shadow Claw

    Tapu Koko
Electric Surge, Jolly; EV: 252 Att, 252 Speed, 6 HP; 3IV
    - Brave Bird
    - U-turn
    - Roost
    - Wild charge

    Metagross
Clear Body; Impish; EV: 252 Att, 252 Sp. Def, 6 HP; 0IV
    - Hammer Arm (I want to change it in Bullet Punch, for priority reason)
    - Earthquake
    - Meteor Mash
    - Zen Headbutt

    Oricorio
Dancer; Timid; EV: 252 Sp Att, 252 Speed, 6 HP; 0 IV
    - Revelation Dance
    - Teeter Dance
    - Roost
    - Air Slash

    Tapu Lele
Psychic Surge; Timid; EV 252Sp Att, 252 speed, 6 HP; 6 IV
    - Nature's Madness
    - Extrasensory
    - Flatter
    - Moonblast

    Silvally
RKS System; Jolly; EV 252 Att, 252 Speed, 6 HP; 6 IV
    - Sword Dance
    - Multi-attack
    - U-turn
    - Crunch

    Salazzle
Corrosion; Modest; EV 252 Sp Att, 252 Speed, 6Hp; 0 IV
    - Venoshock
    - Flametrower
    - Dragon Pulse
    - Sludge Wave

    Kangaskhan
Scrappy; Adamant; EV 252 Att, 252 speed, 6 HP; 4 IV
    - Outrage
    - Fake Out
    - Sucker Punch
    - Dizzy Punch

    Jolteon
Volt Absorb; Modest; EV 252 Sp Att, 252 Speed, 6 HP; 1 IV
    - Last Resort
    - Thunder Wave
    - Discharge
    - Thunder

    Garchomp
Rough Skin; Jolly; EV 252 Att, 252 Speed, 6 HP; 6 IV
    - Sword Dance
    - Dragon Claw
    - Eartquake
    - Iron Head

    Tapu Fini
Misty Surge; Hardy; EV 129 Def, 129 Sp Def, 252 HP, 3 IV
    - Ice Beam
    - Scald
    - Blizzard
    - Hydro Pump

    Pheromosa
Beast Boost; Impish; EV 252 Speed, 252 Att, 6 HP; 3 IV

    - Pin Missile
    - Iron Defense
    - Liquidation
    - Sucker Punch

The following Pok?mon are restricted to one in this tournament:

    Necrozma
Prism Armor; Modest; EV 252 HP, 252 Att, 6 Speed; 6 IV
    - Steath Rock
    - Iron defense
    - Wring out
    - Prismatic Laser

    Lunala
Shadow Shield; Timid; EV 252 Sp Att, 252 speed, 6 Def, 6 IV
    - Moongeist Beam
    - Cosmic Power
    - Night Daze
    - Shadow Ball

    Solgaleo
Full Metal Body; Docile; EV 252 Att, 252 speed; 6 HP; 3 IV
    - Sunsteel Strike
    - Cosmic Power
    - Crunch
    - Zen Headbutt

    Zygarde
Power Construct; Jolly; EV 252 Att; 252 Speed; 6 HP; 3 IV
    - Extreme Speed
    - Earthquake
    - Outrage
    - Thousand Arrows

Most Pok?mon that I've mentioned now are almost ready, they only need some changes in the moves or they need an IV boost (no problem I've got 4 gold bottle caps and 6 bottle caps waiting), the other level 100 I've got still need a proper EV training and the rest of it.

    This is my suggestion:
    - Porygon- Z (my favorite)
    - Zygarde ( However I don't know which form to take, the 50% or the 10% for more speed)
    - Metagross (tank)
    - Mimikyu
    - ...
    - ...

And then I don't know anymore, any suggestion?

    Nah

    Spoiler:
There's a few on your list that need an item to be worth it, and iirc correctly this tournament doesn't allow items. Those ones are Metagross, Kangaskhan, and Silvally.

Talonflame got hit really hard by changes in Sun/Moon and is no longer the big threat it once was, so you can scratch that one off the list too.

Some of the other ones I'd recommend using would Pheromosa, Tapu Lele, Garchomp

For the one legendary only section, use Zygarde. Roll with the 50% form for the better bulk so you have a better shot at activating Power Construct. Zygarde 100% True Power is absolutely absurd and is most certainly the best choice from that part of the list. A bulky set like this:
    Zygarde-Complete @ Leftovers
    Ability: Power Construct
    EVs: 248 HP / 4 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpD
    Careful Nature
    - Thousand Arrows
    - Rest
    - Sleep Talk
    - Coil

is generally the best, so if you can do that, do that. If not, a Dragon Dance set may be usable as well. There's no need for Earthquake on it btw, Thousand Arrows is the only Ground STAB you need on it. There's probably better choices than Outrage too, getting locked into that in a Fairy-infested meta is not a good thing.

Oh yeah also Hyper Beam is kinda bad for Porygon-Z, cool down turns suck ass.
