    • I actually ended up deleting my file on Diamond as I had gotten bored yet busy, so I think I will put this challenge on hold for a bit, but I will come back to it after my life becomes less hectic.

    I'm playing through platinum and want to try the monotype challenge on it. My type is ground.

    Started with turtwig, beat my rival. Made it to Jubilife, flattened rival once again. Caught a geodude in the cave and just arrived in Oreburgh City.

    Can I join with fight types?, I just got my hands on a old used pearl game in my local game store(so i dont have to restart my old game and still continue my lotad run) and choosed chimchar so I want to use a fight team Im starting the run today

    • Well, I just finished a Steel monotype challenge on Platinum... Even though I didn't actually make any posts here, so it didn't actually count. Eheh. Oh well, it was fun anyway.

    I beat the Elite Four with Empoleon, Bronzong, Scizor, Magnezone, Steelix, and my HM slave Lucario (who was only good for switching in and getting KOed while I used Revive on someone else). Post Elite Four, Lucario was briefly replaced with Dialga, who's now been replaced with Skarmory.

    For anyone else who wants to try a Steel run: Levitate and Magnet Rise are your best friends, because everyone uses Earthquake. You will also learn to loathe Cynthia's Garchomp and Flint's whole team.

    Well, that was fun. And I have new sympathy for all those poor gym leaders that can be blow away by a single Pokémon with a single type-advantage move.

    • Oh my god, I've been gone so long!! I doubt anyone remembers me though :D

    And I'd like to join in using ground types, if thats alright.
    (would it be frowned upon to trade a sandshrew over to my game to use as a starter?)

    time to sign up for another challenge =)
    i'll do fire, in diamond, so it wont be too easy

    started new game, clicked the a-button a lot of times, got chimchar (mild nature on 1st try, yeah), went to jubilife, got hp tm and taught it chimchar. it was nfe on budew and neutral on zubat so its hp water which isnt too bad. beat rival and saved.
