Deleting the second one has an immediate negative effect though. It throws the deleter back to the first page, forcing them to navigate back, and on top of that it makes everything take much longer to load (for some mysterious reason).
To my knowledge deleting the first post is the advantageous option no matter the case. So unless there's some information I'm missing, the real question is why you're so adamantly advocating the opposite; aside from habit.

Inbefore "lol just don't double post" or similar irrelevant topic segues.
