Yes, cause cartoon characters never get sick. On most cartoons like Pokemon there's no killing, or anything you just live a peaceful life with your Pokemon going on a journey with them. So, yea sometimes I wish I were a cartoon character. If I were I'd be on Pokemon.

First of all pokemon is an anime not a cartoon. But then again america totally destroys that line with a bunch of animes like naruto and even DBZ so meh. Would i want to? If the anime/cartoon/whatever the hell you want to call it is either DB(Z) transformers or gundam then yes.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to live in cartoon, Especially a Cartoon/Anime like Pokemon or something, Everything seems so easy, Like you said, they don't get ill all that often, Battle abit, Battle abit more, Then have a nice cushty life. Mind you, I'd probably tire of that life very quickly and I'd love to be in Full Metal Alchemist where there is abit more proper action.

I know and i just said that as my opinion. I also forgot to say why. Well who wouldnt love to be some spiky haired dude who can shoot lasers out of his hands with chi or maybe hang around with giant friking robots who can become futuristic cars. Or hell control one big robot to fight other big robots. I know stupid but hell there is a kid in us all.

I don't wan to have to run into Team Rocket every day, nor do I want to have somene steal something from me every day. Being a cartoon character isn't all its cracked up to be. Being a character from a game is way better. For example, wouldn't you like to be Samus Aran from Metroid?

...some dude somewhere in Western history said that we live in the best of all possible worlds. He didn't have the evidence to back the claim with, but he sure was right.
Yes, cause cartoon When you say cartoon, I think Tom & Jerry...would I want to live a life where I am exploited for comical purposes? Never. characters never get sick You call the pkmn anime as an example...doesn't Stun Spore ail the group and TR alike? What about the Swablu? Amphy?. On most cartoons like Pokemon there's no killing Doesn't the Lucario movie show a bunch of mobilised brutes ready for battle? You can't possibly claim there to be no implicit killing there. And we know there are guns--take the original Squirtle Squad episode, for example (they weren't loaded with bullets, but I don't have to explain this any further for you to understand)., or anything you just live a peaceful life Since when is any cartoon peaceful? Without conflict, there wouldn't be any plot...nothing would happen...there's ALWAYS some sort of simple problem-resolution that's inherent in all cartoons. Even Max & Ruby and Blues Clues (is there an apostrophe in that name?), Pre-K shows, have problems, though they are a little simpler in nature (such as sharing). It doesn't matter who the target audience is, everyone deals with conflict, and you can't avoid it by entering some 'simplistic' cartoon world. with your Pokemon going on a journey with them If any of you think sending ten year-olds off, on their own OR with friends, is alright, then I feel deeply sorry for the children you'll have someday. The pkmn world is dangerous; ever ehar the story of the man taking a documentary of a bear, and, during filming, he got...yeah? The pkmn world ain't any different. Would a pack of Poochyena make your day? How about Gligar? It's dangerous; what about a bunch of adults in creepy attire? Call them safe? No, the pkmn world is a horrible place constantly threatened by forces beyond our comprehension with little but a couple teenagers to stop it... . So, yea sometimes I wish I were a cartoon character. If I were I'd be on Pokemon I wouldn't be joining you..
...the only other reason I think anyone would like this is because they would think it to be a better life. If that's the case, it's trash. Every unelegant fangame plot tells the same story...a kid who comes from humble beginnings but with blood connection to someone important goes to being the next Idol. Okay, but why is that so cliched? Why do they not tell of little Johnny who lives in Verdanturf and becomes a mailman? It's because little Johnny's life is BORING. The fact of the matter is that most stories we hear are at the center of the action; most people would rather hear about Hitler and Himmler than the story of someone who did not make it through the Holocaust? Why is that? It's probably because there is nothing engaging in that story (and because nobody wrote it down). My point is that it's a huge pile with very few on it in pkmn, for example. Out of all trainers who embark on their quests, only the few who make it through the cheese grater even can say they claimed six badges. Then so many don't make it past the prelims at the regional tournament. Would you want to deal with a decent chunk of your life being wasted because an arrogant Gym leader told you your past two years of training were for naught? I wouldn't. Remember Flint? He was a failure. He demeanour was not the brightest, either...

Pkmn, again, for example, is like capitalism. There are going to be a few haves and a lot of have-nots. Who populates those towns if everyone went off to train and lived a bedouin lifestyle? Last I checked, most people want less economic disparity. Let's face it; in pkmn, the disparity would be so disgustingly great that would wish to live in a more complicated world with greater opportunities and more on the pile.
...I've heard depressing stories of preteens who pray every evening that pkmn would suddenly become real. It's saddening 'cause they don't have any idea what they're wishing for...

Only if it was a good cartoon, not like Tom and Jerry.
I would not mind be some hero with a superpower kicking ninja and giant robot ass!
But what the hell are we talking about, like you could ever become a cartoon character, \o/.

Not really. The same thing happens in Pokémon like pointed out above. And I haven't really been watching other Animes lately. ~_~

It doesn't matter if it could ever happen or not. It's fun to talk about it. I mean if we only ever talked about the real stuff, this site wouldn't even exsist. Now do you want that? I didn't think so. And I think I would like to be in ether pokemon or InuYasha.

    Pretty much what Agent Zero said ^.^;;;
But yeah, cartoons aren't all fun and more fun. I couldn't imagine being sent away at age ten, even if I did want to go on a Pokemon Journey. So, no.

i like the way i am, i dont really want to be (nor would i care) if i was a cartoon

Agent Zero, half your argument was based on the idea that the cartoon worlds are just like our own, which they almost always aren't. Te crucial difference between their world and ours is that there, good always wins. And that simple fact unpicks most of your complaints.

In what we SEE, good always wins. Logically, though, good does not always win or the entire Rocket organization would never have even come together. That still doesn't address economic concerns, that fact that you're statistically likely to fail even if you do manage to become one of a fairly select demographic. Furthermore, if one were to enter the world of a cartoon/anime, you add a variable in there. Instead of a plotted, written adventure, you're dealing with an unknown equation, in short the introduction of entropy into an ordered system. This means that the system will inevitably destabilize.

All of that aside, no, not particularly. Wishing/fantasizing can be healthy for your mind but it is, in the end, pointless and detrimental to everyday life. I'd much rather enjoy a quiet walk along a favorite trail in the woods or some time with my closest friends than wish for the impossible.

In one way, yes. I could become whatever the heck I want.

Yes, because I could get hit with an anvil and still live. What a life it would be getting hit by trains.

I would like the idea about being in a cartoon. Perferably something like Pokémon where I don't appear to age and that I can have adventures early on in life.

I would not really like the cartoon world.

I like the defiance of Laws of Physics and all but, that's also why. I could suffer more than a kid with Chuck Norris and still be alive. Would you like it if a miserable mouse threw an iron at you, or if three noobs that are all somehow named Edward scam you and hit you with baseball baths for your money? Or how about that show with 493 creatures you have to catch while enduring 5 Blast Burns, 10 Drownings, 3 times dead, and 42 thundershocks and STILL be alive!

Hell no. No way. I like the real world. At least I can age and get a girl to marry someday!

I think it would be interesting. But probably no.

I wouldn't mind being able to interact within the game/cartoon world though :)

Sometimes I seriously wish I was Goku, or one of the Z-Fighters so I could fly around and blow stuff up, so yeah, I occasionally do wish I was a cartoon character.
