What is the purpose of the lighthouse in Slateport City.
I can't figure it out.

Yeah right.
On a more serious note, the lighthouse is most likely just there for decoration in the town. As Slateport has a port, it would be naturally for a city to have a lighthouse to guide the ships in. It has no particular importance gameplay wise.
