Welp, my computer just broke, possibly for good. I'm disappointed, but not surprised. She was on her last legs already, but she served me well.

Here's the funny part: she shut down while running the demo of LumenTale: Memories of Trey, the monster-catching RPG made by the Xenoverse devs - which is likely a spiritual sequel to Xeno itself without the Pokémon brand, seeing as how Trey is the rival in the latter. That makes me wonder... is the Xenoverse curse still active, just manifesting in another game by the same dev team? Was this a reaction against me finally self-inserting for my Mono-Fairy run? Was this a warning about something else entirely? Did the demo outright brick my computer? Was it the final push I needed to get a new computer ahead of time? Or was it just a coincidence?

...I know I laid my hand on the case as I ran the demo, trying to check for my computer potentially overheating. It was anything but overheated when it shut down, though; it just happened out of the blue.

Thanks goodness I didn't get rid of my old desktop computer! I just removed the hard drive from my bricked laptop and put it there. So far, it's worked.

Now, let's see if it will give me access to my documents/user folders so I can copy everything I need to my external HDD and then onto my new laptop when it comes.

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and I don't even know if I'll even be able to go due to an incoming storm alert. There's also a lot of stuff I need to get sorted out during this trip and again, I don't know if I'll be able to do that.

I hate feeling like this.

I'm just so glad I could continue and advance my Xenoverse Mono-Fairy playthrough on my new computer! The game runs much more smoothly than it did in my old one, and thanks to that, I could get through all the plot-heavy parts, up to the Pokémon League.

If everything goes well, I'll round up tomorrow. I want to make sure I get a few items first. I also know Victory Road is extremely long so I want to rest up before I do that; the Dimension Rocket was quite enough for today.

I really want to get to the battle with Gold in Xenoverse because I never did it before, but the game yet again rears its ugly face and shows me its spite-driven gameplay decisions. First locking the Dielebi event behind a barely accessible place in a big, labirynthian route, now the good old "chase the roaming Pokémon" game. (Thankfully, the glitch in which Dielebi only showed up if the game was set to Italian was fixed.)

Now I remember why I didn't do the post-game in my last two playthroughs. This game just doesn't love me back. ;_;
