  • Hello everyone. Major again with an update on my current OU team. They are as followed:

    Name: Prince (Male Sylveon)

    Experimented OU team

    Ability: Rough Skin/Sand Force
    EVs: 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spe
Moves: Outrage, Earthquake, Iron Head, Swords Dance

    Experimented OU team
    Name: Tanya (Female Tyranitar)
    Item: Smooth Rock/Tyranitarite
    Nature: Adamant
    Ability: Sand Stream
    EVs: 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spe
Moves: Stone Edge, Earthquake, Pursuit, Dragon Dance

Took a while to go through all my Pokemon and put the team together. Right now I'm just experimenting with teams and this team seems to be the most effective. This team resists every type in the game, except Water, and can cover each other's weaknesses. Some EVs and moves might change depending on their performance in the coming days..

  • Magnezone isn't commonplace anymore, so Shed Shell isn't really needed. Skarmory can easily take a hit from Gothitelle and force it out with Whirlwind.

What's the deal with Volcarona's EVs? What purpose do they do? If you're looking for a Quiver Dancing Volcarona on the borderline between offensive and bulky, this is the better set:
    -Quiver Dance
    -Fire Blast
    -Bug Buzz
    -Giga Drain
    Nature: Modest
    EVs: 136 HP/252 SAtk/120 Spe
    Item: Life Orb
    Ability: Flame Body

The Speed EVs let Volcarona outspeed +Speed base 130s after a Quiver Dance.

Hyper Voice > Swift on Sylveon. The former is stronger, simply put. If you can't transfer over a B2/W2 Eevee that has Hyper Voice, you're better off using Clefable instead, as Sylveon is unviable without Pixilate + Hyper Voice:
    -Wish
    -Protect
    -Moonblast
-Heal Bell/Aromatherapy/Thunder Wave (Aromatherapy is an egg move, which is highly convenient)
    Nature: Bold
    EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Unaware/Magic Guard

Iron Head isn't worth it on Garchomp. A 2x super effective Iron Head just barely outdamages a neutral STAB Earthquake:

    252 Atk Garchomp Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 216+ Def Sylveon: 160-189 (40.6 - 47.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

    252 Atk Garchomp Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 216+ Def Sylveon: 170-202 (43.1 - 51.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Drop Iron Head for Stone Edge as a more reliable way of dealing with Togekiss (and other Fliers) or Fire Fang (as a way to hit Skarmory, Scizor and Ferrothorn) if you opt to stick with Swords Dance. If you're using Mega Garchomp, this set is the best way to use it:
    -Draco Meteor
    -Earthquake
    -Stone Edge
    -Fire Blast
    Nature: Naughty
    EVs: 4 Atk/252 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Garchompite

Using a +Attack nature with barely any Attack investment seems weird, but Sand Force-boosted Earthquakes and Stone Edges coming from Mega Garchomp are crazy strong enough.

You're better off using Mega Tyranitar for Dragon Dance variants, as Jolly Mega Tyranitar outspeeds Greninja at +1 Speed, something regular Tyranitar can't do. Speaking of Jolly, it's also mandatory on Mega Tyranitar, as it fails to outspeed Greninja at +1 Speed with Adamant:
    -Dragon Dance
    -Stone Edge
    -Ice Punch/Fire Punch/Crunch
    -Earthquake
    Nature: Jolly
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe
    Item: Tyranitarite
    Ability: Sand Stream

If you're using Mega Garchomp, these vanilla Tyranitar sets are more effective:
    -Stone Edge
    -Crunch
    -Pursuit
    -Earthquake
    Nature: Jolly
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe
    Item: Choice Scarf
    Ability: Sand Stream

    or
    -Stealth Rock
    -Stone Edge/Ice Beam
    -Crunch
    -Earthquake/Fire Blast
    Nature: Impish/Relaxed
    EVs: 248 HP/252 Def/8 SDef
    Item: Leftovers/Smooth Rock
    Ability: Sand Stream

Edit: Since Volcarona is vulnerable to all hazards, you need a Rapid Spinner/Defogger to clear away these hazards. Mandibuzz, Excadrill and Starmie can do that for you:

    Mandibuzz:
    -Foul Play
    -Roost
    -Taunt/Whirlwind
    -Defog
    Nature: Bold
    EVs: 248 HP/136 Def/108 SDef/16 Spe
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Overcoat

    Excadrill:
    -Earthquake
    -Iron Head
    -Rapid Spin
    -Rock Slide/Stealth Rock
    Nature: Adamant
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe
    Item: Leftovers/Air Balloon
    Ability: Mold Breaker

    or
    -Earthquake
    -Iron Head
    -Rock Slide
    -Rapid Spin
    Nature: Adamant/Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe (Choice Scarf) or 120 HP/136 Atk/252 SDef (Assault Vest; Adamant only)
    Item: Choice Scarf/Assault Vest
    Ability: Mold Breaker

    Starmie:
    -Hydro Pump
    -Psyshock/Thunderbolt
    -Ice Beam
    -Rapid Spin
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb/Leftovers
    Ability: Natural Cure/Analytic

    or
    -Scald
    -Rapid Spin
    -Reflect Type
    -Recover
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 252 HP/32 Def/224 Spe
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Natural Cure

If none of these are to your liking, just try to squeeze in Defog somewhere on Skarmory.

  • i thank you should use blissey > chansey, more bulk u know?

Chansey has more bulk than Blissey when taking Eviolite into account:

    252+ Atk Choice Band Scizor U-turn vs. 4 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Chansey: 250-295 (38.9 - 45.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

    252+ Atk Choice Band Scizor U-turn vs. 4 HP / 252+ Def Blissey: 342-403 (52.4 - 61.8%) -- 98.8% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

The bulky Dragon Dance Charizard X set traditionally uses 248 HP/152 Atk/108 Spe. This gives it enough all-round bulk, while outspeeding Greninja after a Dragon Dance. It also outspeeds Breloom and Bisharp pre-Dragon Dance.

    What are Garchomp's moves?

Why, oh why, would you use Poison Jab on Excadrill when you have STAB Iron Head to smack Fairies with? Drop Poison Jab for Iron Head.

I see. Maia's EVs might change depending on her performance.

Ruby's moves are Outrage, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Swords Dance

Iron Head is a B2W2 tutor move. The only other STAB move is Metal Claw but it's still weaker than Poison Jab even after STAB.
