That's funny, because none of your bands, ESPECIALLY, brand new are punk. That's pop.

    But isn't that an oxymoron?

No, it isn't an oxymoron. PopPunk tends to be more upbeat, and maybe a bit faster.

So, when you say upbeat, you mean "more positive"? Otherwise what you've just said is terribly redundant. If you do mean "more positive", then it's not an oxymoron, it's a total bastardization of the genre.

With all due respect, you do not know music.

I guess guys who make over 200,000 dollars a year and have record contracts with Warner Brothers and play music with lyrics like "I'm bouncing off the walls again" or "On the information highway." are punk. [/sarcasm]. It is indeed not punk, the lyrics don't match, the people don't match, certaintly their lifestyles don't match. Want some actual punk?

    OLD misfits,
    Exploited,
    Unseen,
    Virus (thrash metal/punk mix)
    Doom (crust punk)
    OLD Dead Kennedys
    Toxic Narcotic

Anything by Green Day is not punk... that's Alternative or Pop-Punk, basically the same. Talk to an actual punk, and mention green day, and chances are he shall spit in your face for interjecting that band into a sentance with the word "punk".

    No disrespect, bud--gotta learn.

    That is sugarcult buddy.......

I think the whole argument of "YOU GUYS AREN'T PUNK! THESE GUYS ARE!" is stupid.

but yeah, what is wrong with Green Day going from the shathole of (california?) to being succesful punk artists? They are punk...
