2nd Gen G/S/C monotype challenge

    I could'nt find this challenge so I decided to make it.

    Rules:
    1. You may only use ONE type of pokemon. NOTE: Dual-types are allowed as long as they are the same type as the one you chose.
    2. You may only have a maximum of five HM slaves(don't know why you would need five but hey it's your choice)
    3. You can only choose a type if it is obtainable in or before Goldenrod City.
    4. Challenge ends after defeating Misty.
    5. You may not use legendary pokemon in your team.
    6. only two people may choose any type at a time

    psychic:
    fighting:

    I'm gonna take the real easy one and go with Grass.
    So I make a team of grass pokemon to beat Misty, pretty much?

    Update:

    Type chosen: Water
    Began game today named myself WATERpkmn (the thing with pk together and mn together). chose totodile♂ lv5. walked to Mr.Pokemon's house and received Mystery Egg and the newest version of the Pokedex. Defeated rival and walked into the lab. A police officer asked what the rival's name was. i told him it was Rival(wow i'm imaginative). and to make a long story short i defeated the trainers and reached violet city.

    Hey, Ill go with Poison. Ill start as soon as possible.

    EDIT: Started my game, chose Totodile, went to Mr. Pokemon's House, Beat Rival (named him Sal), Saved at my house.

    BTW What do u think its better for my team, Beedrill or Ariados?

    Arrived in Voilet City, began training in Sprout Tower and Ruins of Alph. Ill blog once I beat Falkner. Team:

    I'm new but play Pokemon a fair bit, just don't use a forum much. Anyway I'd like to use Psychic. I can obtain an Abra and Slowpoke before Goldenrod so I guess its eligible.

    Yesterday I beat Falkner, Bugsy and my Rival, but forgot to post my progress. Anyway Im in Goldenrod, training for Whitney. I also changed my Pokemons' nicknames, as I was having fun and naming them after the characters from Friends.

    Both Gym Leaders were actually easy, I owned them in 10 seconds. I owned my Rival Sal in 5 secs (lol). Dracula (formerly Ross) did a grat job, so did Beedrill and Razor (fromerly Joey). After arriving in Goldenrod and training a bit I caught a male Nidoran (Grounder).

    My Team:

    Grounder - Nidoran (M) - Lv 12

    Horn Attack
    Double Kick

    Dracula - Zubat - Lv 19
    Leech Life
    Supersonic

    Confuse Ray

    Well, I think Ill challenge Whitney after Razor evolves and so does Grounder. Later.

    LOL i'll start after I finish my paper! >.<

    I just started out, I chose chikorita, i received the egg from Mr. Pokemon and beat my rival (whom i named Aaron). i recieved my pokeballs from prof elm and got my mother to save my money.

    Question: does butter free count as a psychic type

    LOL i'm going to have a Tough time with only Butterfree!

    I arrived in Violet City. With a Butterfree on Lv 11 going to hit the sprout tower and then tackle the Violet Gym. wish meh luck

    No, neither does Golduck or Venomoth. They have to be of Psychic type to qualify.

    I'm currently breeding Eevee so I can train it up to become an Espeon.

    I plan to get a Jynx, Starmie and Exeggutor. Probably have to get rid of Drowzee/Hypno. I only realise now how small a type Psychic is. The only other options are Girafarig, Mr Mime, Unown, Xatu and Wobbuffet. Legendaries unfortunately aren't allowed.

    Its up to you really mate. This is a challenge, but I'm not really thinking of it like that, just a bit of fun designed to make Pokemon more interesting. I'll see how it goes and maybe do a second game as a water one, which is what I was hoping before all the places were taken. I wanted Golduck, Feraligatr, Lapras, Tentacruel, Quagsire, Omastar. Maybe Kabutops or Cloyster or Poliwrath for variety.

    you could always switch to using bug instead of psychic

    update:

    beat up to jasmine in olivine. took forever. the two magnemites had electric attacks and steelix had rock throw. all i had was mud-slap...

    and now i'm taking down the rockets in mahogany.
