  • Allrightttt. Just dump them nicknames you gave your Pokemon. I want to see themmm. My best nickname was probably when I nicknamed my Treecko 'GreenDope'. Or when I named my Phanphy 'Ghettofant'. :P

    Also, pokemon puns are welcome {XD}

    I suppose this is mostly about the games, so I'll move this over to Pokémon Gaming Central and we'll see if Jak thinks it's different enough from the "Do you nickname?" thread to remain open ;)

    I don't think I ever gave them anything really hilarious. I named a Bidoof Dexter in White just because I thought it looked like a Dexter.

    I rarely nickname my Pokémon, unfortunately. Last time I did was about six years ago, of I remember correctly. Long time, huh? Not sure which Pokémon it was, but I think it could be Blastoise. I wound up naming it "Warterutle," or something along the line. Very cheesy, I know. ;o;

    I tend to name mine after Roman/Greek mythological figures, typically relating the Pokemon's type to the deity's realm or what they represent. My Lapras is Poseidon, named after the god of the sea, for example, and my Lucario is Kratos, the personification of strength and power.

    I also like using the names of the Nine Divines from the Elder Scrolls series, and the Daedric Princes. The dragon names are a little long, but I always name the dragon in my team after Alduin.

  • I named my Crobat after Remilia Scarlet from the Touhou series. I also nicknamed my Graveler something really simple: Pebbles. As you can tell, I'm not too imaginative on nicknames :p

    If I'm out of names, I name them after friends from PC. :)

  • Well in Australia there's a paper company called "Reflex" with their slogan "Always rely on Reflex" so i was doing a Nuzlocke challenge on Silver and named my Cyndaquil "Reflex" because i always seem to rely on my starter.
    I also call any Magikarp i catch or purchase "Giglomesh" because it's Satan in a fish.

    I used to be so uncreative when it comes to nicknames. xD In Ruby, my Swampert was named Kip. My Swablu was nicknamed Cotton, my Kirlia was was Bangs, because I thought her bangs were cool. xD

    Skyrim!

    Sceptile (in training): Scephiroth
    Arcanine: Firaga

    Final Fantasy!

    Spyro the purple dragon, and a few others I'm not so sure about - Jet is probably a reference to Jet Li, and is Chewy a reference to Chewbacca?

    Lumiere is the candlestick from Beauty and the Beast, but it could be something else as lumiere just means light in French.

    Same with Magnus - Magnus is a deity in Skyrim, but it also just means "great" in Latin. :P

    Well, there's the classic JUNGLEDOOM (all caps) for my Venusaur. Pretty awesome name for that pokémon, imo. And also THUNDERBOY for my Pikachu. That one is sort of pukeworthy though, haha.

    @ Feralikazam, Scrapheap is an awesome Aggron nickname!
