I caught Mewtwo with 2 out of my 5 ultra balls.
He was at Low Health,Only attacked 2 times,No status condition
Ball 1:Wobbled once,Mewtwo Escaped
Ball 2:Wobbled once,twice,three times,clicked,MEWTWO FOR ME!

i don't think i ever did anything out of the ordinary. i usually have a level 100 Marowak or Scyther with False Swipe knock down the hp to 1. and then i throw a million ultra balls. actually, i caught my Kyogre with an ultra ball. i know that isn't anything crazy though lol.

a) no one cares

b) everyone else with some consideration about it can also do it

c) doesn't affect the metagame... not like you get enhanced stats for your "great achievement"

BTW, Great Balls are better than Ultra Balls for catching the Regis, I found. I have 2 out of three of them in a Great Ball, the other being in an Ultra Ball. In fact, Ultra Balls aren't always the best for catching any Legendary, because they're more likely to break out of an Ultra Ball than any other.

Zo what you're telling me iz that I wazted 100k PF *Currency* in buying 99 ultraballz when great ballz are better? Waaaaa! That iz ZOOOOO uncool! *pouts* :(

I've perfected a technique for catching Zafari pokemon....? Doez that count....? Oh! I caught a Lapraz in a pokeball! Oh wait.....no I didn't....they gave it to me in a pokeball....tee hee nevermind. ^^;
