I really don't care too much about training 'Girly' pokemon, and some of them are deadly, Eeveelutions, Milotic, Bellossum(sp?), Wigglytuff, and Pikachu/Raichu are examples of that.
I don't see how people get girly out of Flareon Jolteon Umbreon and Raichu =/
Outside of the heart shaped tail, which is female exclusive anyway, Pikachu isn't all that girly either in my opinion.

It does not matter if it is a pokemon you like or one you use for batlling cause it's strong then that's fine.

It depens on what you classify as 'girly' pokemon. If you are saying its 'girly' just because its pink then I dont agree with that. =(

Anyway, nah, I love Mew (Not as much as Jirachi) and I love baby and cute pokemon. Example: I'm a boy and I'd rather have a baby Torchic to, say, a Mewtwo.)
So yeah, I dont classify any pokemon as 'girlish.' Also, it is someone opinion if a pokemon is girlish or not (someone might think milotic looks more cool or 'boyish' than 'girlish)

    "Girly?"
Avoiding the semantics of discussing why people insist that anything that looks a certain way is boyish and anything that looks a certain way is girlish...

It doesn't mean a thing. Don't be constricted by society's rediculous gender barriers. What difference does it make anyway?

Does anybody blink an eye when a girl uses "boyish" pokemon? What are "boyish" pokemon then?

I know a couple, and if you looked at their favourite pokemon you'd probably assume that the girl owns the "girly" pokemon and the boy owns the ones that aren't. People really gotta stop putting eachother in boxes.

Well, i really fancy Piplup and its evolutions.

But...no relationship i have with a ``girly`` pokemon is as strong as me and roserade.

Well, I'm not really a fan of the "cute/fluffy" kind of Pokemon, but I made exceptions for Dratini and Evee and that's about it.

I also have a thing about only using Male Gender Pokemon, does any other guy do that? I suppose it's linked with how I feel about Male pets over Female.

Meh, not really a big thing. Its just a game afterall.

Personally I do prefer pokemon that are good at battling over cute cuddly ones but I've used pokemons like chansey and delcatty before and they aren't that bad. Whats really annoying is when my girlfriend starts nicknaming some pokemons after me cause she has sapphire and I have leaf green.

Surely that Pokémon being "girly like" is a matter of opinion, and that it comes down to the eye of the beholder?? I am a guy and prefer more feminine looking Pokémon, and my playable character is a girl too, it's just my preference.

Are you kidding me? Those kinds of pokemon tend alot to be very useful. Take for instants, Butterfree. I got me through the first two gyms when I first got red version! Also, who does not agree with the right move set, Roserade and Milotic kick butt easily!

I don't see anything wrong with it, most of the pokemon I think are "girly" some don't =S Even then most pokemon are kinda neutral or "OMG RAWR" looking.
Like I consider Blaziken a more feminine pokemon because of the body shape and the fact it's feet are more powerful then it's arms and stuff...

some mentioned that it matters what the person classifies as a "girly" pokemon...u guys have a point about that...but as for genders I rather choose the gender that matches the pokemon mainly, I must admit...XD

I've always considered it kinda boyish, but then it just hit me that Pokemon was cute.
Guess it depends on everyone's point of views.
But to heck with girls and boys not being able to like or do the same thing! It does not matter, just do whatever you like, if someone makes fun of you for being girly because you like Pokemon, it's their problem, forget them.

Dx If you'll pardon my language, I'm really sorry, but these kinda gender things rub me in a bad way.

EDIT: 'kay, nevermind, I made it more child friendly.

Hmm... I'm with the person that said people really need to stop putting people in boxes. "Girlish", "boyish"... I really get sick of hearing the words. Like that person said, people don't even blink when a girl uses "boyish" Pokemon... but, be it the other way around and some people (apparently only five on the site, though XD!!) think it's weird. To me, that's a double standard.

C'mon! We're in a generation where guys aren't afraid to wear pink! In fact, I have a pink shirt that says "Keep laughing. This is your girlfriends shirt." Honestly, I don't think anythings girlish or boyish. I don't believe in those "labels" and never have. :3

So, my opinion on it is: own whatever Pokemon you want! Train whatever ones you want. Some of my favorite Pokemon are what some consider girly. For example, I've always loved Jigglypuff. :) And Chansey is another favorite.

Eevee is one of my top 10 favourites, because it can be pretty much anything you want. I wouldn't say there are any REALLY girly ones, because even a Butterfree could tan a Charizard's ass rear if it tryed.

When I was little and pokemon had first come out, it seemed like more boys were playing. Sure, I am a girl and I've always loved pokemon, but it seemed at the time that it was mostly boys who shared that interest.

Now, for whatever reason, the whole "macho" thing has resurfaced, so some people are stupid and think guys playing pokemon is too feminine. It's just another one of those things that boys make fun of each other for since there's such a stigma against being gay since it means you're a "sissy" or something ridiculous like that. I think that more guys play pokemon now that girls, but it's a bit more even.
