6th Gen Gym Leaders and Elite Four

I can't image they'll replace anybody, considering it is a remake. I think the biggest question is who the 8th gym leader will be: Juan or Wallace? Personally, I'd rather have Juan be the Gym leader and Wallace be the Champion, that way Steven could be a super strong post game trainer like he was in Emerald. That said, I didn't really like having both the 8th gym leader and champion both being water type trainers, so hopefully the champion is new and Wallace could be a postgame trainer like Steven.

It would be cool to see something like how Kanto made some of the gym leaders like Lt. Surge and Sabrina allies of Team Rocket. Flannery could easily fit in as a support of Team Magma, and maybe Juan with Team Aqua as well, although there isn't really enough on him to determine his personality. Not to say that Flannery would make any more sense, I'm just using her as an example because of her fire specialty! Unfortunately, none of the Hoenn gym leaders have that 'evil' persona that Lt. Surge and Sabrina gave off, so I doubt this actually happens in-game.

Is it just me or Wattson just gives me the creepy factor? I know he's a jolly old man but then again, it is kinda creepy imo. Maybe there would be some secrets in New Mauville and ta-daaaa, Wattson is revealed to be evil? I know, it sounds farfetched xD

Or the closest thing I can think up of is Sidney pulling off a Malva xD

Roxanne's redesign looks terrific, wow. She looks just like a school teacher now!

Yeah, my jaw dropped too. There's a high chance Roxanne becomes more involved to the actual plot line of Hoenn this time around, considering she is a Rock specialist and the legendary mascots of her region have recently discovered ancient forms. This screenshot is making me so impatient to see the rest of the gyms, though. *__*

Yup, that's Phoebe, you can see her signature flower right there. I hope we get better, full scans later today.

Actually no, as much as I'd like to believe I'm funny enough to do something like that, Serebii uploaded that over the original gym screenshot I had in that post. Just updated it, actually. n__n; But yes, seems like none of the gym leaders shown in the recent CoroCoro scan were redesigned.

I think there's still more left in this issue to go. I hope some gyms are shown. I can't wait to see Winona's redesign. Flannery looks similar to her old self.

You're right, there could be more left to be revealed, and they may just have the old artwork in there to create a visual contrast between it and the ORAS redesign. I'm curious, because Hoenn's group of leaders was certainly one of my favorites, and they've already done a great job with revamping characters like Brendan and May. n__n

Wattson and Norman have redesigns, there isn't any old art for any of the gym leaders on the scans. I wish we had better scans as Flannery's looks very similar to her old design with the quality we currently have.

Nothing shocking or noteworthy I think, which I hope is a trend that changes with the other gym leaders. I would rather they be conservative with their design changes. The evil teams redesigns ripped the fan base into a thousand pieces when they came out. I'll rather avoid that. Besides their original designs aren't bad. I love how Roxanne looks with her looking the same way but with new clothes. I hope the rest of the redesigns are like her's.

From the looks of it Wattson's had a small redesign, normally he wears his jumper but this time it looks like a jacket?

I also can't make out what Flannery is wearing but the colour of what she is wearing definitely isn't black.

So it's not just Pepperton and I who think that. She really doesn't look all that different...

Wattson looks like her has either a camouflage color jacket or a hawaiian shirt...

The Gym Leaders being part of Team Rocket was exclusive to the Pokémon Special/Adventures manga; only Giovanni is associated with Team Rocket in the games.

It would be cool to see, in future games, Gym Leaders who are more in agreement with the villainous team rather than the player. But for these remakes I think it would be too much of a stretch to alter the Gym Leaders that much.

I really hope we get some full art of these soon. I'm glad Flannery looks the same, and I can't wait to see how Norman and Wattson have changed--Norman's jacket looks kind of silly in that small pic, ha ha! I also really want to see Phoebe! Sydney looks good, though.
