Unless you were very wealthy you probably wouldn't be able to raise more than a handful of pokemon. None of this "catch 'em all" nonsense. You'd have your hands full feeding, grooming, training, and taking your 'mons to the vet to get shots and chekups, or just to help them out in case they got hurt in a battle. And you'd better hope you paid for all your licenses, too, when the pokemon cops come by to make sure you weren't abusing them and were only participating in a sanctioned battle.
