I've been to this site a few times already because of its awesome hacks but now I've finally gathered the courage to join.
I hope I enjoy my time here.

Hey there and welcome to PC! Finally decided to join huh... well very nice choice! This community's great and i''m sure you'll like it here. I have to say iv never read the manga even though iv been tempted too a couple times, i got to try it sometime. I'm working on my own little hack atm and its pretty fun (even though i'm not that great at everything for it yet :P) I'm still learning and the best way to learn how to is to try for yourself. Theres plenty of tutorials and such on PC that could help in anything Pokemon related stuff. Anyways hope you enjoy yourself and i hope to see you around! :)

Welcome to PC, though. You'll have a great time here. Don't worry about feeling unwelcome or anything, you'll love it here. So, whether you do decide to create a hack on your own (I'm sure there are a lot of regulars who are willing to help you get started & stuff!) or maybe you like to stick around to discuss why Pokemon is ~awesome~, that's fine! Even though each member is different, we all share one thing in common: POKEMON! :3

Another section I'd recommend is Pokemon General. There's a small section for the Manga, so if you're a fan of the manga... why not talk about it there? There's also the Anime section as well, since you're a fan of the Anime. Which season was your favorite?

Anyways, read the rules! We don't want you to get in trouble so soon. :( Overall, have a wonderful time! Drop Snivy or myself a shout-out if you wanna talk or have any questions!~

Yup, you will certainly learn to make your own hack. PC is known for it's quality ROM-hacking board which is one of it's most active boards and is also one of the reasons why PC is known as of today and has cemented itself in the web as one of the biggest English Pokemon board! Megan already introduced you to the Emulation board wherein you could find lots of resources to make a hack! It is also a home to a lot interesting hacks that you will surely enjoy and play! It's sub-forums, the tutorials & toolbox will guide you to the hacking scene, so good luck! :)

Welcome by the way, I am Snivy063, your NU/W Moderator! It's a pleasure to meet you as well, I'm glad that you have finally decided to registered. I mean lurking around sucks, you don't have any permission to post and participate on discussions, you couldn't also talk to the members here. But now that you are, you can do a lot of things from now on! :>

Besides those boards that Megan mentioned. You might want to check off those who has Pokemon on it's name as well as the off-topic boards that you can come across which basically doesn't have anything to do with Pokemon in any sort. I'm sure those boards will keep you entertained if ever you lost your interest in Pokemon.

Get yourself familiarized with the rules too if you still haven't bothered to read them. You don't want to get into any trouble don't you?

I recommend the Emulation thread since you are interested in hacks.

Here's my little introduction:

Hikari10 is a 19-year-old female Pokefan from Australia. She remembers having her first exposure to Pokemon at the age of 6 when she watched the anime for the first time as well as getting a Pikachu plushie. In 2003 she started playing Pokemon Ruby and beat the Elite Four with what would be considered a noobish team. Hikari then moved on to the 4th Generation in 2008 when she played Pokemon Pearl, followed by Pokemon Platinum in 2009. Her biggest accomplishment since Ruby came in Pokemon SoulSilver in 2010. She went into what she considered the best generation when she began the 5th Generation with Pokemon Black in October 2011 and it marked the shortest amount of time before beating the main story at 13 days. She still currently plays Black and watches the anime. Hikari's favorite Pokemon is Oshawott and she became famous at PC for displaying memes of what she calls "PC's Cutest Oshawott". After having a suspension stint in June/July 2011, she has since made a massive comeback in September that year followed by her first PC Birthday in October 2011. Hikari10 currently has one of the largest friendlists of any PC user. One thing that Hikari10 fears is the whistleblower organization WikiLeaks (she especially hates Julian Assange due to his resemblance to Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter series and the fact that he reminds her of an alien). Hikari is very nice if you respect her beliefs, she also has good connectivity throughout the internet with accounts on Photobucket, Serebii, GPX+, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Google+, DeviantArt and YouTube. She loves to share things with most PC users and she might do it to you as well.

Welcome to the forums, LunarSoul. I do believe that you'll be able to find most of the Pokémon-specific forums to be something for you, huh? XD Do give Pokémon Clubs a look-see, by the way. :) There's almost always a healthy amount of discussion anywhere in PC, though, so go to wherever you like the most!

Learning to make a hack? Head to ROM Hacking and get started. I'm afraid that I won't be able to help, but people there should be able to. Asking is a great way to get started, but do give the rules a read, by the way.
