Help with sigs

    Ok, i got photoshop cs4 yesurtday, and was wondering if people could post tuts and cool stuff they can do in this thread for me to refer to when im making sigs/ messing around.

    Personally, I would try to not use brushes that much, or else you'll come to rely solely on them. C4ds are an excellent replacement to brushes. go to deviantart.com and search c4ds, and a bunch of packs will come up. For most of them, they come in packs that you have to unzip. In order to unzip them, you'll need a program called winRar. You can google that. I think it's free. You can also find brushes on deviant, but like I said, it would be in your best interest to not rely on them. You should also look for tutorials. You can find tutorials on deviant, as well as gfx sites, such as https://planetrenders.net, https://sigresource.com, or https://hidden-designers.com. As a beginner, some advice I would give you is this: Use as little of text as possible (or even no text) and don't put it in the corner. Try to pick good qualitity renders (the planet renders site above is excellent for renders- renders are images without a backround) or stocks. (stocks are regular images with a backround) A bad quality render/stock will make just about any tag look bad. Also, try not to over do things. Often, less is more in sigs. Don't just cover your tags with brushes all over the place and wild in clashing colors. Try to have some organization. Another big thing in sigs is flow. Flow is like the "direction" the sig is going in. For example, my flow in this sig (https://i41.tinypic.com/25fpvyq.jpg) would be going to the to right starting from samus. Flow is necessary in most sigs. Tell me if you have anymore questions.

    I don't really do Gfx anymore, so I might not be the best source to learn from, but I think I know a thing or two.

    thankz for the massive replay , will try to do those things when making more sigs
    Heres one i just made, trying to follow a couple of things youve said, but if you could also post techiques on how u make ur c4ds look coolers so it isnt just the original
    ( in this picture i just dulipcated it and changed the layer type )

    I tried to go for an evil look , but its nothing like evil,didnt use dark enough colours and the smudge didnt actually do anything ( but the bottom of the render which is fail )
    Also i had no idea what grunges were so i just got some brushes and put random crap on.

    If any1 has a more detailed tut of the one above please do post :)
