6th Gen Hopes for Gen 6

    I'd like a Stat-based Elite Four.

One that specializes in Defensive Stats (Similar to Shuckle, Steelix, and Milotic)
One that specializes in Offensive Stats (Similar to Rampardos, Alakazam, Machamp)
One that specializes in Speed Stat (Similar to Persian/Starmie/Electrode)
One that specializes in Health Stat (Similar to Blissey/Snorlax/Wailord)

Then a champion that is more balanced, or has one pokemon that represents one of each of the six stats as its main strength.

The type specialists are a must for gym leaders, but it seems like the Elite Four could be a bit more dynamic to emulate more of a trial.

There was something like this in the Norman gym in RSE where all the trainers had their own specialties and I think it worked out well. I think this is a good suggestion.

It has been a while since someone last posted here, but lately I have been getting on the Dream World a lot more. So this is what I am hoping for:

I hope they add more starting areas and make them equally common. I have got the Dream Park like 15 times in a row and that is with different pokemon. I am also hoping they make it quicker to use. It takes forever for things to load the first time through. At least with my computer, and I have a 2012 computer. Also, I hope they take out the tutorial like thing when the woman speaks. She ALWAYS comes up with when a new pokemon is put in and it slows down the loading time.

Dream world won't exist for Gen 6. They are closing it down permanently. They haven't said yet if they'll open a replacement, but we know for sure that the Dream world will be completely taken down off of the net as we will no longer be able to access if from any Gen 5 game.

I think they said something about relaunching a new one...

    Spoiler:

For the new Dream World, I want more games. The games there get very repetitive. A good example of a game I like there is the Hide and Seek game. The moment you reach the objective, the game immediately ends and gives you the rewards for completing the game. It doesn't force you to keep playing for an additional 50 seconds to beat your high scores, or whatever. I want games that are races against time.

To the person who talked about reworking the IV system... yes, yes, YES to that!

PGL is changing, it'll still have the trade watching thing for the Global Link Station, and the Global Battle Network, but Dream World is getting shut down for good.

    Serebii said:
    In The Games Department
    Pokémon Black, White, Black 2, White 2, X & Y - Global Link

The Global Link has updated with an notice regarding the Pokémon Global Link. First, the Global Link will open up for a special X & Y version on October 12th 2013, after a 12 day long maintenance from the start of October. However, from October 12th 2013, various Pokémon Black, White, Black 2 & White 2 features will go offline.

Putting a Pokémon to sleep will go offline on December 10th 2013.

The trial version of the Dream World will go offline on October 12th 2013, as will new user registration.

The GTS tracking for Gen V ends on January 14th 2014 and Rating Mode on Random Matchup goes offline on January 14th 2014.

The ability to do WiFi Memory Link in Black 2 & White 2 also goes offline on January 14th 2014.

C-Gear, Musical and Pokédex Skin changing deactivates on January 14th.

Waking up your Pokémon to get items and Pokémon also deactivates on January 14th.

You will be able to wake your Pokémon up from the game side at any time, but the ability to do so from the Global Link deactivates on January 14th

However, using the GTS in the games, Free Rating in the Random Matchup and all the other in-game online features will continue. It's currently unclear what features the new Global Link will have but when we have these details, they'll be posted.

So by the time January 14th rolls around, Gen 5 PGL will pretty much be gone. We won't be able to send Pokemon to sleep so we won't be able to access the Dream World. There won't be a 5th Gen extension to the dream world.

I second what Shrew said, they are probably opening up a new Dream World. I am hoping it is more improved since I never got to use 5th Gen's Dream World. I'm also hoping they take the time limit out altogether or something.

We won't be able to put Pokemon to sleep. If we can't put Pokemon to sleep, we can't play in the Dream World.

We won't be able to access the add ons for Gen 5 at all, so our Gen 5 games won't be able to link up with this new system after January 14th.

Waking up your Pokémon to get items and Pokémon also deactivates on January 14th.
If you still have a Pokemon asleep after January 14th, you won't be able to wake it up and retrieve the items it had found or other Pokemon it found while asleep. You will have to manually wake them up from the game.

After January 14th the Gen 5 games will not be able to link up to the PGL at all outside of battles and trades. We won't be able to send them to sleep and will get the connection failure note when we try.

I get the point cos I read all these details on Serebii, I was stating that the new Global Link for X & Y might open up something similar to the Dream World and I do hope it's one with some good features (and the fact I never even put a Pokemon to sleep anyways) and maybe they might introduce some more new items, but I'm also hoping hidden abilities are kept because they changed a lot of Pokemon's battling capabilities.

Are you serious? Buy a house? You do realize that the player character is usually 10 if not just over right?

Hey, the player character is usually around 10 years old, yet they are sent on what would normally be a very dangerous journey.
And remember, the player character owned a Villa in Platinum, and you could buy the furniture for it.

    Do:
    Pokemon based on mythology.

That would be pretty legit. I've always thought that some Minotaur pokemon would be a nice addition. or even perhaps a Nordic-based creature, like Gullinkambi, or Fenrir. Fenrir would be an awesome Dark-type

I love how easily people forget about the Villa. XD

I would love for this to return since Hide outs seem out of question right now. I just want more range on what I can buy and where I can place it. I want my house to design the way I want it and not preset.

I hope we see something like Black Tower/White Tree Hollow again. The were so useful for grinding. Even if the aren't the same concept, at least give us a place with high leveled Pokemon that we can battle infinitely.

This should be different than why everyone else has posted...

I want it to not be directed towards a certain age group, but to everyone. Not every Pokémon fan is a little kid ages 6-10 who needs things explained to them for the first ten minutes of the game.

Generation 5 is my least favorite generation because of this fact. The multiple tutorials, villians that are immature and hard to take seriously and a lack of freak out and gross out moments. Not to mention all of the childishly designed Pokémon are something to mention.

Everything you need to know is spoon fed to you like you're some kind of brainless idiot. "Hey, this is a Pokeball! You put it in your hand and you throw it!" This got worse and worse as generations went by, and it's come to the point where you don't learn anything on your own!

In the old games, they gave us a "how to capture" tutorial and threw us out there. We were free. But now, Black 2 and White 2's whole first half of the game is a big freaking tutorial! Now freedom! I would give a minute over an hour anyday!

If I am treated like a little toddler with easy gameplay and tons of explaining, not to mention all of the Pokémon are inanimate objects or animals, also plus the fact all of the scary parts of the games referencing death and easy to miss and completely avoidable, plus nobody can be taken seriously in this generation I'm done.

No more kid games! These games are rated for everyone, not for stupid kids! Even nine-year-olds can make it through Pokémon without a whole hour of "do this" and "do that". And if you can't take a little Lavender Town music, that's just too bad.

I unrealistically hope for X/Y to have minigames. Whether it's things like the pokeathlon, poffin making, super contest dancing, voltorb flip, surfing pikachu, or wifi plaza games. The more, the better.

My biggest hope is that all of the haters are proved wrong. I am tired of seeing the backlash for this generation because people aren't willing to accept new things and are stuck living in gens 1-3.

I do too, I honestly want people to like this generation.
And it seems more people are stuck in Gens I-II with III-IV being twilight zones and V being the most base breaking along...which sadly seems to be the case with this generation (I'm on the it's good side of V, and I'm on the it's going to be great side of VI (I haven't played it yet so hence the going xD).)

I hope that there's a lot of awesome Ice-type Pokemon news.

So far there hasn't been absolutely anything ice related revealed. Seriously, no new Pokemon or anything. Yet on the Kalos map there's two towns (probably a gym leader in one of them!), a couple routes, and a cave covered in snow. This tells me good things are in store.

Ice is my favorite type, so I really hope there's new stuff for them to make them better competitively or available earlier on in the games.

I'd really like to see some useable Ice Pokemon introduced in this generation and what I mean by that is usable competitively. There aren't really any good defensive Ice types and it being a type that is already plagued with weaknesses is so hard to use. So yea, I'd like to see some really beefed up defensive Ice Pokemon introduced.

I'm secretly crossing my fingers for a resist that isn't just ice (flying? dragon? water? ground?), but I highly doubt they'll change how types work outside of Fairy :(

Yeah, I'm hoping that Ice will become resistant to Water at least as water usually cools down when hitting ice, even if it's hot. If it meets especially cold ice it turns into ice itself even...

Mostly... DAYCARE EARLY ON! Some pokemon have amazing egg moves that we want before beating the story line and for some of us it really limits what we will actually use if we can't get them. If we want to go through the trouble of breeding for egg moves or simply for superior stats before we actually "beat" the game then we should be allowed to and not have it gated until post E4 like in BW2. GRR

On that same note fossils early on is appreciated since in BW2 we literally couldn't play with the fossil pokemon until post E4 unless we traded them in.

If there ARE berries again then they need to be easier/more convenient to obtain then grinding dream world stuff. I really missed being able to grow berries.

Another dream world complaint, but I would really like for hidden abilities to be obtainable in game through an acceptable means. It's cool that they sometimes threw special encounter pokemon at us with their "dream world" abilities but for the rest of the pokemon we wanted with hidden abilities that we wanted we were forced into using the dream world or some other way.

Ultimately I want the dream world to be less necessary (or just go away) for ingame advantages because I know that many besides myself find it utterly annoying to use and the grinding involved with it to be ridiculous. We want the stuff from it but can't seem to make ourselves go through the hassle.

This goes without saying but I really want to like the new pokemon and not be bitter about whats made available or be left wanting certain older gen pokemon because they didn't give us interesting options. This faire thing is cool but I hope that doesn't mean we see a ton of wimpy new fairies and other pokemon just for the sake of introducing new pokemon.

Last thing to mention is old gen evolutions. There doesn't have to be a ton of them but I want to see some and so far we haven't heard much about it.
