I got so bored I tried to amuse myself with a thread about rpg systems.

    • I'm really bored right now, and couldn't think of anything else to do. So I basically went:
    "RPGS are fun, right? I'm going to do things now!"
    ...okay, maybe not EXACTLY that, but whatever. You get the picture.
    So, what I thought would be "fun" was this.
    You engage the ?????.
    DLA attacks! Just missed!
    ????? joined the battle!
    ????? attacked! 17 HP of damage to the ?????!
    The ????? attacked! DLA dodged quickly!
    DLA tried Soul Trial @!
    67 HP of damage to the ?????! ????? turned back to normal!
    YOU WON!
    DLA and ????? gained 34 exp each.
    DLA grew to level 2!

    And stuff like that.
    The enemy could be anything.
    The people fighting could also be anything. Like ...
    You engage the Hipster wannabe.

    ... joined the battle!
    Go, FLAREON!
    Here is the Hipster wannabe's opening attack!
    Hipster wannabe attacked!
    SMAAAAASH!
    45 HP of damage to DLA!
    FLAREON used Flamethrower!
    Hipster wannabe dodged quickly!
    DLA did nothing for example's sake so we could get a move on. Thank you, DLA.
    Hipster wannabe landed with a crushing chop!
    A critical hit!
    31 HP of damage to FLAREON!

    Now, it doesn't necessarily have to be EARTHBOUNDesque, but I like it that way.
    Whoever starts the battle gets to choose.
    Everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY, has to start at level 1.
    You have to be on your own team alone at first.
    After hopefully-not-dying-and-winning-instead, you can add 1 member to your "team".
    Which means you can make THEM do the work.
    Added members can be any level up to the highest level member on your team.
    Say,

    PIKACHU joined the team!
    What level is PIKACHU?
    1 2 3 4 5 -
    DLA lvl 2
    Some other guy lvl 5
    PIKACHU lvl ?

    PIKACHU grew to level 4!

    See what I mean?
