I review Pokemon Episodes

Time for another creepy Sabrina extravaganza!
Pokemon Episode 24 "Haunter Vs Kadabra"
I don't know why Misty finds Haunter cute, it's not cute at all!
* Misty's expression after being paralyzed.
Ash's voice sounds kinda weird at parts
Sabrina remains super-creepi
* Ash's weird crying face
** Scared Pikachu was more cuteness/funniness
So Brock and Misty just became non-sentient dolls! Yep, the creepiness just doesn't end.
And Sabrina's backstory is really dark as well, underneath it all she's just a little girl who wants friends and has no family.
* The reaction to Sabrina's father by Pikachu
Woot nice gradiant background
* The weird "chicken or the egg" interlude
** Haunter's weird face
** Nice tense action scene with them trying to hold on to the ramp, with some arty-paper animation
Sheesh Sabrina's mother is a doll too, this is horrifying.
Aww, look at Pikachu's ears drooping
* Ash's weird crying face.
--- So THAT's how the battle ended? By Sabrina and Kadabra laughing? That's IT? WHAT a pathetic anticlimax.
* Ash's jaw drop was funny too though.
Closing Thoughts:
A very good episode with a disappointing ending.
The plot was very strong and creepy, as Brock and Misty get turned into dolls by Sabrina and Ash tries to stop her and change them back. The plot was once again creepy and weird, as well as action packed, but the ending was really, really dumb, as mentioned above.
There was no battle scenes but we did get a good tense scene with Team Rocket trying not to fall off a tower, with some nice artistic paper-cut animation.
Humor was tops again, lots of great laughs.
Overall, an 8/10.

Yeah the ending felt a little cheap because Ash didn't really battle Sabrina and won really by default but it was funny and fitting. Haunter just wasn't a battler.

Halfway through Season 1!
Pokemon Episode 26 "Pokemon Scent-Sation!" (What a painful title)
Ooh this episode was banned in South Korea. Scandalous!
Aww look at Pikachu.
So Ash is kicked out of a gym because he doesn't like perfume. Okay.
** Ash's face after being knocked out.
It's a Gloom! What an ugly Pokemon. Oddish is so much cuter, as is Vileplume
* Nice fourth-wall breaking gag with Meowth.
So now Ash crossdresses to get inside the gym. Okay. Let's TRY to refrain from sexism.
--- Sexism scene with James and Jessie telling Ash how to act "ladylike".
Wow, 4Kids changes the word "bomb" to "blaster ball" amazing
** Bellsprout dancing
Wow they somehow refrained from sexism much.
* Cute/funny scene with Pikachu hugging disguised Ash.
** Another exciting battle sequence.
Aww, Pikachu and Ash's conversation, culminating in them hugging, was adorable!
Aww, look at Pikachu putting out the fire with his little watering can.
* Team Rocket bonking around in the Cylinder
Closing Thoughts:
A decent episode.
It was quite a bizarre one! Ash tries to fight to get his Rainbow Badge, but is kicked out because he doesn't like perfume (okay) and disguises as a girl to get in (okay, surprisingly not as sexist as expected) and meanwhile Team Rocket try to steal the secret perfume ingredient. The plot was goofy, fast-moving, and got very intense at the end with Ash taking Gloom out of the fire.
The action was good, too, with a nice battle sequence in the middle.
And humor was nice too, with good laughs throughout.
Overall, alright. 7/10.

Hush now don't you cry
Wipe away the teardops from your eyes
You're lying safe in bed
It was all a bad dream spinning in your head

Time for another creepy one!
Pokemon Episode 27 "Hypno's Naptime"
* The weird cut away gag with the "hop-hop-hop town"
So the gang meets a mom who's son disappeared, and it turns out tons of other children have disappeared. That's Dark.
Detective Ash, sounds like a spinoff
And now all the Pokemon are beheaving weird too. This is creepy.
** Psyduck's voice
** Pikachu falling asleep
Jessie and James hug! Rocketshipping confirmed!
So Drowzee eats dreams. Dark!
** Misty's weird clapping thing
Wow, all the children have been hypnotized into being Pokemon
** All the children acting like Pokemon was funny, especially the girl acting like Magikarp.
** Good action scene with surprisingly creative plan by Team Rocket.
-- Animation with Drowsee's hypnotizing waves is really poor, it's a still image!
* Ash's weird cry
** Psyduck getting sucked in Pokeball was funny.
Closing Thoughts:
A great episode!
The plot was weird and interesting. The gang go to a town where all the children have disappeared, and have been hypnotized into behaving like Pokemon by a Hypno. And at the same time, all the Pokemon have fallen asleep due to a sleep wave! The plot was very amusing and fun, and fast-paced.
The action was good, Team Rocket's scheme of trying to reflect the sleep waves was actually very creative.
And the humor was good with nice laughs throughout.
A very strong episode, 8.5/10.

We are the goon squad and we're coming to town
Beep beep
Ooh, ahh, fashion

David Bowie- "Fashion"
Time for another episode!
Pokemon Episode 28 "Pokemon Fashion Flash!"
** Raichu with make-up on
They're just Jessie and James, of course the Gang don't notice because plot convience.
* Aww, look at that Chansey being massaged, it's so cute!
** Misty getting owned by that Vulpix
For the record I don't find Vulpix that cute, the eyes ruin it for me
Aww, LOOK at Pikachu eating those round pelllet things!
** Pikachu dressed up was funny too!
* Some good Misty facial expressions.
*** OH MY GOD, Pikachu getting massaged is cuteness incarnate
So THAT's why Pikachu's cheeks are red!
I love how they fail to recognize Team Rocket even with like no disguise, they're just wearing glasses!
* Misty's reaction to her new look.
* Psyduck running was funny too
Oh geez they threatened cutting off Vulpix's tails! That's DARK
** Good tense action scene.
Aww, Brock being nuzzled by Vulpix was really cute too!
Closing Thoughts:
SECOND-best episode ever!
The plot was good, they meet Suzie, a Pokemon breeder, who is under contest from Team Rocket disguising poorly as Pokemon breeders. Filler, yes, but well-done filler plot.
The action scene was intense and thrilling, overall a very good one.
It was also a really funny ep, great visual humor throughout as well as some funniness with Psyduck and Raichu/Pikachu's makeup.
Alone it could've got a 7.5/10, but pushing it up a point is the CUTENESS! There were so many cute scenes in this episode! I nearly died from the cuteness of Pikachu having his cheeks massaged, And there were more. Chansey's massage, Raichu's makeup, Vulpix nuzzling Brock, Pikachu eating with Vulpix... It was SO CUTE!
Overall, only second to Ghost of Maiden's Peak! 9/10!

Time for Episode 30 (Sorry Punchy Pokemon you filler)
Pokemon Episode 30, "Sparks Fly For Magnemite"
So this town is a depressing, industrial wasteland. Mkay.
Aww look at sick Pikachu, with it's droopy limp ears
** Meowth's facial expression was funny, especially because it looked like he was flipping the bird!
Wow if the power doesn't come back on tons of Pokemon die! That's dark.
* Pikachu shocking Ash was funny/cute.
* "If you're a ghost or monster, you can stay where you are and we won't bother you" good line.
** Man, the scene with Magnemite closing in on Pikachu was intense! Especially Pikachu's anguished crying. Great job.
** Magnemite's following Pikachu all over the place, like it's a STREAKER! Good radar-dodging joke.
* "Shut up Misty!"
Well-done emotional scene with Nurse Joy comforting the dying Pokemon.
-- Uncharacteristically bad/one sided action scene, the Magenton took them out in one shot!
** Though the second one was a lot better, with nice stylish animation!
Aww look at Pikachu chasing after Magnemite.
Closing Thoughts:
A step down from the last two eps but still good.
Plot was good, with a power plant going down due to a group of Magenemites, and one of them is in love with Pikachu! Overall the story was interesting and entertaining. The animation in this ep was good, with a nice dark atmosphere and some stylised animation in the battle scenes. There was also a good albiet brief emotional scene with Nurse Joy tending to the ill Pokemon.
Action was a bit of a uncharacteristic let down, but the climax was still alright with good animation.
And humor was strong with some nice jokes throughout.
Overall a 7.5/10.

Change o' plans for itenerary.
I WILL watch "The Ninja Poke Showdown" since it's a gym battle episode, but SKIPPING "Showdown At Dark City" since nothing of note apart from Pikachu's ketchup antics.

Episode 32 Time!
Pokemon Episode 32 "The Ninja-Poke Showdown"
Psyduck is such a tragic Pokemon.
* Ash's face after almost falling, coupled with Pikachu's
Hey look it's a Venonat. What an ugly Pokemon!
Wow Venonat uses it's game cry, not just saying it's name. Unique!
** Voltorb shocking Ash, more good faces.
* More good facial expressions with them in the weird mansion!
** Good action scene with strong animation.
What happened to Meowth's voice? it got a lot worse.
Honestly i'm getting sick of Team Rocket's mottos. I GET IT we don't need dramatic intros every time.
** Another funny scene with Psyduck!
*** GREAT tense three-way battle scene! Team Rocket's actually putting up a big fight instead of being dumb, and incredible tension and atmosphere.
** MORE Psyduck humor, BIG laugh out of him running back and forth over and over.
Closing Thoughts:
Good episode again!
The plot was good, with Ash trying to win another badge. It was fast-moving, intense, and fun! Psyduck was great too.
The action was the highlight of the episode, the final scene was probably the BEST since Episode 1, super-intense, well-done, and evenly matched, and Psyduck managing to prove useful was great!
The humor wasn't the strongest, but it was okay, Psyduck got some good laughs.
Overall, 7.5/10.

They keep coming!
Pokemon Episode 33 "The Flame Pokemon-Athon" (Lame title!)
** Pikachu really scared!
Aww, Growlithe's cute! Reminds me of my dogs.
* Good action scene.
** Pikachu surprised
* Ash's face after trying to pet Ponyta.
** MORE Pikachu funniness with him wearing some party garb
In this episode Pokemon goes to the Deep South! These fake southern accents are kinda bad.
Ono, Ash is eating a Magikarp! RIP
Wow there's a background of Yen signs. Surprised 4K!DS didn't edit it out.
** Ash falling off of Ponyta.
** Great racing action scene, much better than NASCAR these days sadly
Aww, look at Pikachu riding Squirtle.
Team Rocket hug! ROCKETSHIPPING CONFIRMED!
** Another good action scene.
Wow race commentator's voice crack'd
*** INCREDIBLE climax scene! If that was a NASCAR finish it would top best finishes ever lists.
Closing Thoughts:
A good episode!
The story was great. I'm a big sucker for racing plots, being a big NASCAR fan, and this episode delivered, fast-moving and fun premise, though I could've done with less fake southern accents.
The action scenes were great, the final climax to the race was SUPER-intense, if it was a NASCAR finish it could top best finish lists all across the USA.
Humor was strong too, Pikachu especially gave good laughs.
Overall, would be an 8/10, but Laramie and Dario's fake southern accents being really painful drop it to a 7.5/10.

Two reviews in one day? INCONCIEVABLE!
Pokemon Episode 36 "Ditto's Mysterious Mansion"
* Aww, Pikachu scared of the rain.
** The weird Pikachu face! I've seen this scene long before, one of my favs.
* "PIKOJA"
* Misty's weird face
** Good action scene!
Pikachu in this episode is especially cute! I also am a big fan of Ditto. It's a cute blob with a happy face.
** The Voltorb with Ditto's face, especially the reaction "It's still got that dumb face!"
Poor Ditto, it can't get respect.
* More funny scenes with Ditto.
* Another good action scene.
** Aww, look at the two Pikachus.
Closing Thoughts:
One of my favorite episodes!
The plot was good and had some good emotional weight. The gang meets a girl named Duplica, who has a Ditto and she dreams of being a star performer, but since it can't make the right face, it is ridiculed. The plot was fun and had good emotional heft.
The action scenes were very good, nice morphing fun.
And the humor was top notch. Lots of good laughs with Pikachu and Ditto, it kept me entertained.
8.5/10!

With the Ditto episode I'm surprised you didn't mention the scenes with Team Rocket and Ditto and Jessie trying to get Ditto to shape into her old boyfriend. That was one of the funniest things on the show.

Goodbye to the people who hated on me
Goodbye to the people who loved me
Goodbye to the people who trusted me
Goodbye goodbye to everybody

D4NNY "Goodbye"
Pokemon Episode 37 "Pikachu's Goodbye"
** Ash's face after gettng hit by the tree.
Aww, look at the baby Pikachu.
*** OH MY GOD! Look at all these wild Pikachus! They're so KYOOT!
Huh, why is everyone scared of Ash's Pikachu? That's weird
Why do they keep saying PIKACHU as a plural? It's PIKACHUS I think maybe i'm mistaken
The Pikachu cuteness in this episode is amazing!
** Great tense action scene with them saving the Pikachu from the rushing river. It's screams for help were chilling!
*** CUTENESS overload with Pikachu getting lifted in the air!
* Team Rocket's faces after being crushed.
** Funny/Creepy Song of the Pikachus!
* Nice background music!
-- Pretty lame/one-sided action scenes, they barely put up a fight!
* MORE Pikachu cuteness with them celebrating.
--- Once again emotional scene ruined by awful cheese ballad which sounds like Scorpions meets Posion meets *insert cheesy '90s popstar here*
* Though the scene at the VERY end was cute.
Closing Thoughts:
Mediocre episode! Once again they weren't good at doing an emotional ep, which is disappointing.
The plot was good though, as Ash and the gang stumble upon a gang of Wild Pikachus, and Ash contemplates leaving Pikachu behind. A surprisingly deep moral dilemma for the show.
The action wasn't so hot though, I liked the scene with Pikachu getting out of the water, but the scene with Team Rocket was really one-sided.
Humor wasn't too good either, with a lot of lame puns.
But the ending was the most depressing. The "Pikachu leaving" montage could've had so much emotional weight, but the terrible '90s pop cheese in the background ruined it. If they had used "Tears After The Cloudy Weather" it would've been so much better!
Overall, despite all the cuteness, 6/10. Better luck next time?

Wake Me Up
Wake Me Up Inside
Can't Wake Up
Wake Me Up Inside

Amy Lee of Evanescence, "Bring me To Life"
Let's hope this episode, which looks like goofy fun, is better than the last!
Pokemon Episode 39 "Wake Up Snorlax!"
Hey looks it's a hippie.
** The song he plays is really good.
Wow there's text!
** Misty's reaction to lack of bread
** Pikachu cuteness
Wow, 4K!Ds didn't censor the blood on Misty's arm
* Ash using a megaphone to wake up Snorlax, I love Pikachu's Xs for eyes!
* Pikachu guiding the cables
Glad Misty didn't kiss Snorlax!
** Psyduck kissing Snorlax was another good laugh, as was their reactions.
* Meowth's face after kissing Snorlax.
-- Lame one-sided action, unfortunately.
*** "Chow down, Snorlax, looks like you've got a case of the MUNCHIES!" Wow, how did they get away with that!
* Aww, Pikachu cuteness.
Closing Thoughts:
A good one!
The story was where Ash and the gang go to a town where the water supply has run out, looks like another Team Rocket plan, but nope! It was a sleeping Snorlax. And so they try different methods to wake it up, including giving it a kiss. The plot was so goofy and fun I can't help but love it.
Action wasn't too strong, with one brief one-sided battle.
Humor was absolute tops though, the scenes with them waking up Snorlax gave me good laughs time and time again, and Pikachu and Psyduck were in top form.
Overall, a great ep despite weak action. 8/10.

Skipping Battling Eevee Bros, Exeggutor Squad, and Problem With Paras, onward!
Pokemon Episode 43 "The Song Of Jigglypuff"
Aww, look at that Jigglypuff!
** More Psyduck funniness.
The Jigglypuff in this ep is so cute!
--- Pretty LAME song again!
** Pikachu's lovely singing!
* Jigglypuff kicking Pikachu was funny too.
** Pikachu getting kicked again, as well as it's cute dance!
*** Jigglypuff's song is legitamitely beautiful!
* Jigglypuff drawing on their fces.
Man this Jigglypuff song has such deep, meaningful lyrics. Jigglypuff, Jigglypuff. The human condition has never been stronger.
* Psyduck sleeping with eyes open.
* Team Rocket's faces after finding out they're song didn't record.
Closing Thoughts:
A great episode!
The story was well-done, with the gang meeting a Jigglypuff who wants to sing, but is frustrated because everyone falls asleep, and they help. As a singer who doesn't get respect sometimes, I could relate.
The jokes in this ep were HILARIOUS! I loved so many scenes. Jigglypuff casually kicking Pikachu, Psyduck sleeping with it's eyes open, Jigglypuff drawing on faces... Lots o' good laughs.
But it wasn't perfect. The action scene in this ep was brief and one-sided. Also, Team Rocket's song was terrible! Horrible singing and bland melody.
But still, great job. 8/10.

Almost done with Season 1, then i'm watching the MOVIE!
Pokemon Episode 45 "A Chansey Operation"
Aww, Sick Pikachu is SO cute!
** Ash shaking Pikachu.
The doctor says "I've never been able to refuse young girls". That's pre creepy!
In THIS episode Pokemon meets House!
* Pikachu shocking everyone, also he was so cute!
Oh man the "Pikachu almost dies" plot was the first five minutes of the ep? Bulbapedia you're LIARS
** The hospital ringtone
* Good scenes with doctor being creepi
CRITICAL flaw, James referred to Raticate as Arbok!
I like how he's curing everything with Super-Glue
* Arbok's face after being injected with anaestesia.
** Chansey slapping Meowth. Evil!
Man, even when Dodrio's almost suffocating Ash is always wanting to catch it.
This episode is really pandering to the parents watching this with all the nurse outfits.
** Very good action scene, a relief.
Now they're battling with medical tools!
Closing Thoughts:
A great episode!
Story was good, Pokemon meets medical drama! Ash and the gang have to take care of injured Pokemon due to lack of Pokemon Center. Overall an entertaining story.
The action scene in this ep was great, complete with use of medical tools!
Humor was also tops in this episode with lots of great laughs.
overall, 8.5/10!

I posted a wall of text but it was lost.
Holy CRAP, what a weird/dark episode "Holy Matrimony!" was. Premise: Rich abusive parents fake death, and lure son back. Try to get him married to psychopath Jessiebelle, who WHIPS him while his parents watch, and wants to "tame" him to make him socially acceptable, and kicks everyone out to do... let's not go there. Really messed up, adult undertones here.
Just for the audacity of doing something so bizarre, I give it a Why did you do this and show this to a children audience/10

In the fullness of time
A Garden to nurture and protect

Geddy Lee of Rush, "The Garden"
We're very close to the end!
Pokemon Episode 49 "Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden"
** Pikachu scared
Bulbasaur looks a lot bigger, wait it's just perspective.
** Good action scene.
Aww, look at Bulbasaur and Pikachu conversing.
* Ash's rude awakening by Pikachu shocking!
Team Rocket why are you here AGAIN? Can't you not try to catch Pikachu for once.
*** Wow, really good action scene with the forest making an attack!
* Bulbasaur's singing
Pokedex's voice changed!
Brock there aren't "plant type" and "animal type" Pokemon. You should know that, master Pokemon breeder.
** Aww, look at fascinated Pikachu.
*** REALLY, really well-done atmosphere for the Bulbasaur ritual.
Huh, why does Bulbasaur not want to evolve?
The scene where Bulbasaur tries RESISTING evolvution was also super-good.
*** Another super-intense action scene!
Closing Thoughts:
AMAZING!
The plot was really interesting. The gang finds a Garden where a mysterious evolution ritual is taking place, where Bulbasaurs evolve into Ivysaurs. However, Bulbasaur doesn't want to evolve!
The action was really-well done, the final climax battle against Team Rocket was P.E.R.F.E.C.T. Incredible blend of atmosphere, animation, and music.
Humor wasn't too strong, however.
But why so good? The Atmosphere was IN.CRED.IBLE. Every scene in this ep, from the flowers growing, to Bulbasaur resisting evolution, to the ritual chant, to basically the ENTIRE SECOND HALF, was some of the best atmosphere i've ever seen in Pokemon. It's a real shame we haven't got more scenes like it.
Overall, only second to Ghost Of Maiden's Peak. 9/10.

The final 3!
Pokemon Episode 50 "The Case of The K-9 Caper"
Oh crap, that guy's holding a gun! How didn't they edit it out. 4K!DS what happened.
Growlithe drives away enemies by barking. Reminds me of my dogs.
* Cute scene with them eating and Pikachu being cute.
They also showed them eating noodles, surprised 4K!DS didn't change them to like Pizza.
** Pikachu being funny
* Some good slapstick scenes with Pikachu and Ash.
Haha my dogs are barking at the Growlithe!
Wait! Meowth compared himself to Alvin And The Chipmunks even though they shouldn't exist? Maybe real-world animals are like Pokemon in our world? Maybe theres a show where Ash catches real world animals or something. Really makes you think.
Aww look at Pikachu's ears perking up at Ash's voice.
* Some good Ash faces, including a good one where he finds Pikachu is still loyal.
** Very good action, including a creative Team Rocket plan!
Aww, cute scene with Jenny and Growlithe!
Closing Thoughts:
Not spectacular, but solid.
The story was good, with Pikachu trying to train to be a police Pikachu. Aww, imagine Pikachu with a police uniform! Shame that didn't happen, but the story was very entertaining.
The action was solid in this ep, Team Rocket's plan was very clever this time, and they didn't try to steal Pikachu!
Humor was solid too.
Overall, 7.5/10.

Second to last S1 episode!
Pokemon Episode 52 "The Ultimate Test"
** Aww, Pikachu's being cute.
Todd's voice isn't good.
* Pikachu's wide mouth
** Pikachu holding up the exam sign
* "It's a Jigglypuff seen from above!"
Wow the frame around 8 and a half minutes in is the picture for the "Pokemon Trivia" section of the forum! Kewl.
Aww, look at Meowth sleeping on the yarn.
Wow James gets a Pikachu of his own!
** Good action scenes
I don't like Flareon's voice! Saying it's name over and over doesn't work in it's case.
* Some more good battle scenes.
Wow Ash has all of Team Rocket's Pokemon.
Vaporeon's voice sucks too.
* The Meowth mix-up!
Closing Thoughts:
A strong episode.
The story was good, with Ash taking a test to determine whether or not he was a good Pokemon battle. The story was interesting and fast-paced.
Action scenes were very strong, interesing to see them with different Pokemon!
And humor was strong with good laughs throughout.
Overall, 8/10. Very good.

Time for the final episode of Season 1!
Pokemon Episode 53 "The Breeding Center Secret"
Aww, look at Cassidy with her Sandshrew. Her voice is good.
** A funny scene with Psyduck.
** AWW, Pikachu looks so cute!
Butch's voice is HORRIFIC! Sounds like he's smoking a truckload of cigarettes.
The new villains are great, much more sinister than Team Rocket.
* Meowth bonking James.
* Victreebel eating James.
** Good chase scene.
Wow, Butch and Cassidy arrested Ash and the gang!
Um, that's where Pikachu and Togepi were hiding? Disturbing.
-- one-sided action scene.
Closing Thoughts:
Season 1 ends with a decent episode.
The story was good, introducing two new villains, Butch and Cassidy. I liked the story, they were very competent and threatening and very nearly got Ash and the gang locked up. And also Todd left, that's good I didn't like him, his voice was annoying and all he did was take pictures.
Action wasn't too hot, the chase scene was good but the climactic battle was short and underwhelming.
Humor was decent as well.
Overall, we end S1 with a 7/10. As a whole a great season, only 3 bad episodes and most were very good/great, with two in particular (Ghost Of Maiden's Peak and Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden) being amazing!
