I've thought about this for awhile now and I though I'd bring it up for discussion here.
If Pokemon were actually created and became a real part of this world what would you do? Would you quit your job to go train or just continue your life?

If pokémon became abundant such as in the "pokémon world" during my lifetime somehow, I think I'd get a few as pets but otherwise I wouldn't change anything drastically.

I think the life of a trainer would be pretty much harsher here than in the pokémon world - seeing as we have crime and guns and a thinking here that seems to be absent from that other world. A kid traveling with pokémon is apparently safe there. Not here, unless those pokémon are damn good bodyguards.

If I owned any Pokémon in real life, then maybe I'd spend a little more time with them than I do with my regular pets. I would try to train them on my free time, and make them as strong as I possibly can. I would never stop my education or give up my job just to be with them though, because if I did that, my future just wouldn't be that bright. I would probably ruin it. xD

If Pokémon were real, then I would probably own Garchomp, Blastoise, Gengar, Pikachu, and Vulpix. I wouldn't make Vulpix participate in too many battles, though. I would allow it to battle other Pokémon if it wanted to, but if not, I would just treat it as some sort of a special partner of mine. I'd keep it out of its Poké Ball at all times, and have it walk alongside me wherever I went.

I feel much the same way that Rika does. I wouldn't mind having one or two to take care of if they were in abundance, but I'm not sure how much I would actually bother training them, unless I lived close to a Pokemon Gym. Quitting my job and travelling with Pokemon wouldn't be in my plans though, since I expect expenses and danger would be a lot higher in our world than what is seems to be in the Pokemon world.

If Pokemon were real, I would have five or six or so as pets. Zorua would be my most spoiled Pokemon. I wouldn't quit my job or anything like that, just integrate my Pokemon into daily life.
Most of the time, they will be kept out of their Pokeballs, so they can roam around my house and backyard. My Pokemon wouldn't be very strong, since I wouldn't battle Gym Leaders, but my Pokemon will still be strong enough to protect me if necessary. Every once in a while I'd enter them in a Pokeathalon because competitions are fun~

Hell if Pokemon were real I'd go after all Water Types and be the FIRST Gym Leader and FIRST Water Type specialist. All other Gym Leaders would have to listen to me.

If a Pokémon can survive a fire blast or hyper beam, they can survive bullets. Hell, the move "Bullet Seed" does next to nothing!

I would want to train a bit, but I certainly wouldn't diverge from my music ambitions.

Are you guys kidding?? If Pokemon became real my ambitions would automatically change to becoming the world's greatest Pokemon master. Danger? Expenses? Seems like a heck of a bargain, that's all we gotta deal with to be with Pokemon? Sign me up a thousand times.

I'd try to catch as much as possible, but I'd definitely have Lucario, Espeon, Jolteon, Charizard, Garchomp, Arcanine, Milotic, Eevee and heaps more, Eevee being my shoulder companion.

I would get Joltik as a parrot pet. He'd hang out with me everywhere on my shoulder or my head.

I'd use Abra to get me to-and-fro with Teleport.

And I would want a Krabby, just so I could pet him, day-in-and-day-out Let 'em froth. x3

(You better name that Joltik Jacques :p) If pokemon were real, I'd probably own a whole bunch of them. But only as house pets, since I'm not even going to pretend that I know whats going on in the competitive scene. Probably own a Zangoose, Excadrill, Braviary, Meowth, Arcanine, and Raichu. Just cuz'.

I don't think my life would change at all.

First, I'm not a pet owner, I used to be, but I just can't stand when a pet dies, so I decided not to get another pet ever again.

Second, I don't think being a Pokémon trainer, battle with them, etc would even be legal in our world. First of all, no matter how the Pokémon see it themselves, Pokémon battles would be considered worse than dog fighting (which itself is illegal) since we're talking more that simple fighting here, we're talking poison, spitting fire, paralyzing, etc. And second of all, I don't think any government would let simple citizens keep such power to themselves, and as such, Pokémon would become illegal to even keep as pets and would only be used for military purposes.

I think I'd be stopped at the airport, koff~

"Exactly how many Koffing are you taking? Six? Hm. Stand over here please"

Really, I'd just teach a Pidgey to fly. No need for planes! Or I could Teleport with Abra! Or dig with Diglett! I would drop everything and become the master of Koffing and all other poison Pokemon. I couldn't care less about my duties as whatever I had going for me. I have Pokemon, your argument is invalid, koffi~

It depends really. On one hand, I could give up my job hunt (and probably college) just to go on a pokemon adventure. Whether it be taking on all of the gyms while raising powerful pokemon, acting with them in films, or just be a gym leader taking money from those who lost to me (as part of a fine, like all of the other gym leaders do)

On the other hand, I would continue on with life as if it didn't happen because the technology to make Poke balls a reality could be really expensive (like our iPods, iPhones, iPads, you name it) and what if the pokemon developed diseases like rabies? It wouldn't be pretty sight if the pokemon you trained started foaming in the mouth and attack the trainer they once knew and loved

I rather continue my job than train Pokemon in the house, because training Pokemon at home or on the streets is too dangerous, especially if you're trying to learn Fire, Electric or Ground-type moves. If there's a large field (or lake) near my home I'd probably train it by the weekend.

It depends on how much passion you really have with Pokemon. The biggest fans would obviously want to skip school, and buy Pokeballs to train Pokemon. I'd rather keep myself safe and just treat them like pets.

If Pokemon became real, I would definitely quit whatever I am doing and immediately become a Pokemon trainer. Sure at first this might seem like a bad idea, but I could quickly become a decent battler and have success that way assuming that players would pay each other like in the games. I would try my best to catch a Castform as my first Pokemon and then set off on my journey conquering the gyms of the region.

I'd finish school, go to college, and then embark on my adventure haha.
I would probably have an Aggron, Haxorus, Rampardos, Flygon, Espeon, Walrein, Hydreigon, and Eelektross. The Espeon would probably be my shoulder companion (or a follow me around at my side because it would be too big for my shoulder companion). In a perfect world, I'd have my Haxorus (Or Eelektross providing it actually levitates) by my side but there's no way I'd be allowed to go in any buildings with a giant reptile with a battle axe for a face following me around haha.

I would continue with college and get a job, you never know there might be more job openings with everyone running off to become Pokémon masters! Plus I would need the money to even consider buying Pokeballs and any other gear to train Pokémon.

I would probably be like a stereotypical Lass class trainer, catching low levelled and weaker Pokémon, though since I live in the countryside there might be a wider variety of Pokémon. I would mainly keep my Pokémon as pets, but I would probably train them enough so that they could provide basic protection.

    I would catch a Poochyena, a Pidgey, a Marill and a Roselia.

I too would probably finish college and do some pokemon catching/training on the side. Focus on college more then anything. Afterwards I'd probably just get a job seeing as with so many people running off to be trainers, job openings would pop up all over the place. owo
