    Its id says special event and its in english but i phoned nintendo and they insured me that its real.

    it's not a fake, but it's a hack, the only way to get a legit darkrai from new moon island is via the Jap E4 glitch, the only way to get one in english, is via hacking the item to get it

    hacking or cheating to get the item is still more or less consider illegit though.

    No, not likely. Its not going to damage your game save like other cheats might do.

    Once cheated, it will always be cheated, its not going to affect anything in the future.

    Yes, plus D/P will always keeps a second backup of the previous save from before just encase if your game file got corrupted.

    It's semi-legit. It appears that the person who gave it to you, had to cheat to get it. As long it doesn't have moves it can't learn(examples: Spacial rend, Roar of time, Sacred fire, etc...), or have overly modified stats. It should be legit. Hacking to get a pokemon isn't wrong.

    Yeah but people would rather have a glitched pokemon, to sentimentally think its legit. And even though you exploit the items, which is the smart way, instead of spending thousands of dollars on over sea trips for a few pixels of date, people would still get edgy about the fact that the event pokemon you have are still not legit, because you "cheated" and its not fair, and putting outside date into any game is "wrong." So it doesn't matter what moves they have, its illegit. And thats where cloning comes along, but thats another long topic.
