How do you get songs out of your head once they're stuck there?

I heard once a trick of singing the song from the Smurfs because it doesn't have words (I don't think) and therefore doesn't really stick in your head as much, but clears out the other songs. Now my theme is getting Tangled songs stuck in my head every time I see it so it's not working as much...

I can't, really. Whenever a song is stuck in my head, it just stays in my head until it just disappears without me taking notice.

Right now I have Cut Me Deep by Shakira & Sex Rules by Sky Ferreira stuck in my head and I can't get rid of it. They usually fade after about 5-7 days though.

Really there is always a song playing in my head so if I truly want to make one stop, I just have to think of another and start playing it until it grows old haha.

Similar to Miss Fortune, I always have a different song stuck in my head for a while until it gets old, and then I find another song to obsess over. It's a constant cycle.

    I love that song. :< It's so cute. <3

Anyway, I'm always getting songs stuck in my head. Whether it's from the radio or from my own music. Usually, I end up listening to one song over and over. Right now, I've been listening to Fake Your Death by MCR because it's so beautiful. <3

I was told to listen to it once to get it out, but that always just keeps the lyrics repeating. Usually I listen to a whole bunch of other songs no more than once in succession to do it, but nothing ever really works except just not listening to that particular song for awhile.

I just let them stay until they fade away.

My Soul, Your Beats is a huge offender to me though. When one fades away, this song decides to take over again. Not that I don't mind. P:

Sometimes I try getting rid of them, sometimes I don't; it all depends on how much I like this particular song. If it's something that motivates to get things done, then I wouldn't bother, because without it, I... just would generally have a harder time proceeding further, haha. Though, if it's opposite and I find it to be sort of annoying and bothersome, I would do plenty of things in attempt to forget all about it, from watching movies, videos, chatting with people, going outside with others, and maybe even cooking; it's not very easy, but still manage. I always try my best to keep away from any of my disliked songs, though, so thankfully, I have to go through with these kind of things very rarely. :]

If possible, I listen to it over and over again until I grow bored and forget it.

Alternatively, I try to think of something else. Like porn other songs or my day.

If I've ever got a song stuck in my head (which happens on an almost constant basis), I generally go out of my way to listen to it 10-15 times in a row, where it gets to the point that I actually get sick of it, and stop thinking about it. There's probably a bunch of easier solutions out there, but at least this way it won't be stuck in my head for days at a time.

I hate you so much for the thread title.

For me it's, "Okay this song's been stuck in my head for long enough, time to find a new one..."

I don't really mind having a song stuck in my head. As long as it's not there for very long. Like right now, I wake up and my head started playing PONPONPON. Listening to other songs usually does the trick though :D
