As for the thread, I used to lie a lot. Pretty much to avoid punishment. Now I don't do it at all.

I lie to my parents because they always "misunderstand" the situation im in. Its kinda like getting an afternoon detention at school (i say that i missed the bus/train, or wanted to chat with some friends after school) or going out with someone (im not sure that all parents rage at that, but mine certainly do).

I have an irrational fear that if they see me doing much of anything, no matter how good or bad it is, that they'll take everything away. I know they won't, but for some reason, I have that fear. So I lie. A lot. I only got found out once, nothing happened, though for some reason, even though I know better, I still have that irrational fear of losing about everything that provides me entertainment.

My parents lie to me, so I'm going to lie back. Everyone lies about little things, but I don't like the ones that lie a lot or lie about something huge.

I lie to my parents and other family all the time, but we don't have a good relationship. I do it to avoid more trouble than I'm already in.
