Hello, fellow Pokécommunity members. I am currently writing one of many stories in something I've made. Collectively, I've called this group of stories Magiana Chronicles, because they take place on a planet known as Magiana. I would like to start an RP in one of the countries on my planet to see if people would like it.

For this interest check, I will be posting a list of basically everything one would need to know about this world. It is a lot of information, so I hope that doesn't inconvenience anyone. If people like what they read and would like to play a bit in this world, please say so, and, after a little while, I'll post another thread in which people can sign up in the Roleplay Casting Forum.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Magiana is a planet made up of sixteen countries (seventeen for most of its lifespan) created and governed by Gods who heavily inspired those of the Greeks and Romans on Earth. A place where magic and creatures Earthlings only dream of are real as one could believe, the planet has a rich history, with both joyous celebrations and horrific catastrophes that would affect the whole word for some time to come.

Magic Schools: A Magic School is essentially a normal school that has magic worked into its curriculum. There are several dozen/hundred of these scattered throughout Magiana, and the alumni of these schools are often the ones who make magical discoveries or go on to work in organizations such as Overseer.

Guilds: Guilds are independent organizations that act as the police in Magiana, since there is no police force. Their jobs as police are mandatory, but they are paid by the city in which they operate. The majority of a guild's income comes from the specialty jobs they take on, which are usually dangerous or very time-consuming. Guild members are like family, and their guild is something very important to them. It is not unheard of for guilds to get in serious conflicts, or Guild Wars.

Magic: "Magic, noun, the power brought about by the manipulation of mana using one's Mana Lobe. Magic can be nearly anything the user imagines, but has limitations. There are five branches of magic: Caster, Substance, Ritual, Mass Casting and Potion Brewing. Several countries practice magic in different ways."

Caster Magic: Caster Magic is the ability to manipulate the substance Mana to the user's delight. People from Magiana, are able to manipulate Mana naturally with their Mana Lobe, but Earthlings need a special item in order to do so. Heartstones grant people who it deems worthy magic related to their personality, for example gentle people would be able to use healing magic. While Heartstones can work on both males and females, boys tend to be deemed unworthy much earlier than girls. There are also rings with magic embedded in them that can be worn by anyone. People who wear these rings are known as Sentinels. Most people specialize in a single type of magic, as the more magic one knows, the weaker they get, since their brain cannot dedicate as much of itself to a certain magic. There are few people who can practice multiple types of magic without any power dilation, but they are incredible rare. There are also incredibly rare Sentinel rings which give the same effect.

    1. Summoning: Summoning is a type of Caster Magic that creates life. Summoning is mainly used to make familiars to fight for the sake of their creator. Summoning is quite an advanced magic, because the ability of the familiar to function depends on whether or not their creator gave them all of the organs and body parts they need to function. A manticore created with a single lung will not last nearly as long as one created with both.
      • Basic Summoning: Basic Summoning is the type of summoning most people use. This type of summoning manipulated mana and makes some sort of creature out of it. Creatures as big as lions and bears can be created using this magic.
      • Sacrifice Summoning: For exceptionally large creatures, there is Sacrifice Magic. These creatures can only be summoned if an individual makes a pact with the God associated with each creature. If one wanted to summon Cerberus, they'd have to make a pact with Hades. Often, in exchange for summoning these creatures, the user gives up several years of their remaining lifespan. The more they use it, the less and less time they have left to live.
      • Token (Artifact) Summoning: Artifact Summoning was a type of summoning method in which spirits sealed within artifacts are utilized. Since it was common for people to have multiple artifacts that became difficult to carry, someone developed a method that allowed people to transfer the spirits into smaller tokens. While powerful, these spirits are much weaker than the beasts that can be summoned through Sacrifice Summoning
      • Zodiac Summoning: Zodiac Summoning is a type of Lineage Magic taught by the people of the Celestia family. As the name suggests, it's a type of summoning magic where creatures representing the zodiac magic are used.
    2. Transmutation and Transfiguration: While the words "transmutation" and transfiguration" are very similar, the two magic types with those names are quite different. However, both require extensive knowledge of chemistry and the periodic table.

    • Transmutation is slightly simpler than Transfiguration. Transmutation is the process of manipulating chemical bonds, loosening, tightening or rearranging them. THis is often used to change the shape of something, like a wooden plank into a wooden shield, or it's state of matter, such as changing H2O from a liquid to a solid.

    • Transfiguration is more complicated, dealing with nuclear changes as opposed to just chemical changes. As aspect that the two magics share is the ability to break chemical bonds ( turning CO2 to CO). Transfiguration is often used to turn object in the area into something that would benefit the user. Such a difficult magic is almost exclusively used by scientists and other extremely intelligent people."

Substance Magic: This is the only type of magic that requires a magic wand. By combining a substance of some sort (flower petals, sand, etc.) with a magic word or phrase, the user can transmute objects or afflict a target with some sort of condition like sleep or paralysis.

    • Substance Magic has a handful of offensive capabilities. Something spicy, like a pepper, is capable of causing a burning effect that causes damage over time. Some of this magic, however, is extremely dangerous and banned. In Magi Marauders, these Forbidden Spells work fine, but outside of the game they only operate with ancient Elvish or Dracomorphi trigger words.
Potion Brewing/ Mixing Magic: Like witches in fiction, combining certain ingredients can create a potion. Potions are used for various tasks like granting temporary invisibility, accelerated (crop) growth, and so on. Potion brewing is often called a type of science, but is treated as an entirely different field.

Mass Casting: For certain tasks, a large group of people must cast simultaneously in order for the spell to take effect.

Ritual Magic: A more advanced version of Substance Magic that sometimes combines itself with Mass Casting. Certain things must be in certain places, and various other conditions must be met. This magic is thought to act as a plea to the Gods, asking them to do something that a person just wouldn't be able to do on their own, like bring the dead back to life.

Mana Lobe: The Mana Lobe is a part of the brain that allows a person to manipulate Mana. It is within all Magianans, allowing them to use magic as they please. Earthlings do not possess Mana Lobes, explaining why they need Heartstones or Sentinel Rings to use magic. If a Magianan and an Earthling were to have a baby, the child would have a Mana Lobe, but it wouldn't be as developed, and their magic would be inferior. More so, it would be weaker or unstable. Mana Lobe efficiency varies from person to person, and those with the most efficient Mana Lobes are able to practice multiple magics without them losing any power.

Lost Magic: There are certain types of magic that are deemed too dangerous to the user or others to be used whenever one wants. These magics are closely regulated and only taught to people who have proved themselves to the likes of Overseer that they are worthy. God's Eye and Devil's Eye are forbidden for their effects on others, while Will of the Lotus is forbidden for its effect on the user. Sacrifice Summoning and Sacrifice Magic aren't banned, but discouraged because of their negative effects on the user.

    1. Lineage Magic: Lineage Magic is a type of magic passed down from generation to generation in a group, usually families. While it sometimes get out of the family, it's supposed to only be known by those with the blood of the magic's original user. In the case of non-family Lineage Magic, it can be passed from one master to several pupils, making them more widespread. The Celestia family's Zodiac Spirit Magic is a type of Lineage magic, as is Pledge Magic, which is never taught to family members.

    2. Royal Lineage Magic - Royal Lineage Magic is passed from a royal to their children, whether or not the royal parent is the ruler or the ruler's spouse. These Lineage Magics were taught by the Gods, making them the most powerful. In countries where the monarchy was demolished, the Royal Lineage Magic still exists. In the case of the Magis Family, the children are taught Zeus's Divine Judgement at around 14 or so.

    3. Family Lineage Magic - Family Lineage Magic is slightly inferior to Royal Lineage Magic in strength, but works the same. Certain families have magic passed from parent to child, who pass it on to their children.

    4. Mentor-Pupil Lineage Magic - Mentor-Pupil Lineage Magic is the most widespread Lineage Magic, since mentors can have as many pupils as they like, the largest number known being five at once. Even thought they're more common, they are often equal in power to Family Lineage Magic.

Regalia: Regalia are Arms with divine power, made by the Gods and presented to the original ruler of each nation. The Regalia are passed from generation to generation, and hold much more power than the typical arm. Dragonsbane, the Magianan Regalia, is an incredibly powerful sword carved from a Dragon's Fang, for example.

Oracles & Pledge Magic: Oracles are people who dedicate their lives to protecting others. The original Oracles operated during the Great War, composed of orphans who made their own special branches of magic - Pledge Magic. These Oracles went on to teach orphans, and that set the precedent of all Oracles taking on orphans as disciples. All Oracles take a pledge, which acts as a binding magical contract. As long as they abide by it, they are capable of using Pledge Magic.

Chakra and Buddha: The seven Chakras are a Daslean concept that heavily affects how magic works in their country. In Magiana, they tell young people that they should focus on a single type of magic to prevent power dilation. In Daslea, they teach that the seven chakras are associated with several different elements, but none of them are affected by power dilation. Extensive meditation is critical in opening the chakras.

    1. The Root, or Earth, Chakra is located at the base of the spine, dealing with survival and being blocked by fear. To open this chakra, one must acknowledge their fears, and surrender them.

    2. The Sacral, or Water, Chakra is located in the lower abdomen, dealing with pleasure and being blocked by guilt. One must reflect upon that which they feel guilty for; what they blame themselves for. They must acknowledge them, but not let them impede their lives; they must forgive themselves.

    3. The Solar Plexus, or Fire Chakra, is located in the stomach, dealing with willpower and being blocked by shame. Being disappointed in oneself clouds this chakra. All disappointments must be faced head on, or balance can never be a part of one's life.

    4. The Heart, or Love, Chakra is located in the heart, dealing with love and being blocked by grief. All grief must be faced and forgotten, for it does not erase the love of those lost or those still around you.

    5. The Throat, or Sound, Chakra is located in the throat, dealing with truth and being blocked by lies, especially lies about oneself. To open this chakra, one must not lie to themselves; they must accept themselves.

    6. The Third Eye, or Light, Chakra, is located in the center of the forehead, dealing with insight and being blocked by illusion. Things that cloud reality must be looked past/ One must open their mind and see that all things are part of the same whole. All nationalities and races part of a single group, all types of magic a single force.

    7. The Crown, or thought, Chakra is located in the crowd of the head, dealing with pure cosmic energy and blocked by pure earthly attachment.

Buddha is type of Lineage Magic, meaning 'Enlightened' in the Daslean language. Buddha refers to one who has opened all seven chakras, which is not an easy task. When all seven Chakra are opened, one has access to a handful of spells from the elements accessible to all seven chakras, none of them affected by power dilation.

Body, Mind and Soul: Humans, Dracomorphs, and all sentient beings on Magiana are composed of three entities: the body, mind and soul. The mind powers all bodily functions and keeps one alive. The body is quite simply the body. The soul is the most complex of the three.
Access to the soul can only be gained through extensive meditation. Those who have access to their soul often have opened at least one chakra, but this is not necessary. All those who have mastered Buddha have access to their own soul. The soul is the 'physical' representation of one's being, that is, their personality. The appearance of one's soul is dependent on their personality, and can change. The soul's appearance is dependent on true feelings, so someone may act one way, but their soul shows otherwise. People are most vulnerable when inside of their soul, since it should only be accessible by them. It is possible for other people to enter another's soul. To do this, one must be able to enter their own soul, as well as incredibly focused. If one's soul is entered and they feel threatened, the soul will create apparitions to defend itself. Damage done to invaders does not transfer to their physical body, but rather their own soul. If the soul, that is, the environment it appears as, is damaged, one is greatly weakened. If the soul is completely destroyed, the body will continue to live, since the soul does not affect bodily functions, but the person will be nothing more than a living corpse. If someone enters another's soul and dies, then their own soul is destroyed. People who enter another's soul can exit at will.
Residing inside of all souls are a Patron Deity, a god that acts as a guide if the person can access their soul. Since few can do this, few meet their Patron Deity. The Patron Deity and the person tend to be similar in some way; it may be obvious or subtle. For example, Dominique Lyell's Patron Deity is Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom.

Magiana & Gods: Magiana is a world parallel to Earth where people are born with the ability to use magic. It is very much like Earth, but has mythical creatures like dragons and lacks modern weaponry like guns. The world is run by a global monarchy. Even more powerful than the king are the Gods of their world, the inspiration for the Greek Gods of Earth. Zeus, Poseidon and Hades are known as the Big Three and the most powerful Gods in Magiana. The Big Three are Zeus, Poseidon and Hades who, in Magianan mythology, are the three Gods who oversee all of the others.

AC, ET, RO, BMGC & AMGC: AC, ET, RO, BMGC and AMGC are acronyms for the way Magiana counts its years. AC stands for 'After Creation', ET stands for 'Era of the Titans', and RO stands for ' Reign of the Olympians'. AC was used from the creation of Magiana to the fall of Uranus. ET was used from the beginning of the reign of the Titans to their fall at the hands of the gods. RO stopped being used when BMGC and AMGC started being used. Until the end of the war, everyone counted the year as X RO.
BMGC and AMGC are two acronyms for 'Before Magis Global Conquering' and 'After Magis Global Conquering'. This is currently how the world of Magiana counts years. The event that changed the calendar was the final battle that officially made the Magis family the rulers of the entire planet. Approximately 300 BMGC - 1 BMGC was the length of time that the Magis family went about conquering the other countries of Magiana. 133 BMGC was the year that Calmus the Insurgent was killed by Einhart Magis in the area called Sanctuary. 725 AMGC is equivalent to 2025 AD on Earth.

Dracomorph: Dracomorphs are another people who live on Magiana alongside humans. They possess the ability to turn into dragons, but as time went on and they bred with humans more and more, they lost the ability to turn into true dragons. They were originally created by the Big Three to keep an eye on mankind and keep them in check. However, their new creations didn't meet their fulfill purpose. Pure Blooded Dracomorphs were savage and more like wild animals than sentient, intelligent beings. Humans decided that they must be eliminated, which happened in an event known as the Scouring. The few intelligent Dracomorphs that were spared were allowed to live with humans, but only with they bre with them, diluting their savage blood. Hundreds of years later, Dracomorphs occupy the nation of Melstrain and live in peace with humans. Dracomorphs have reptilian features, like some scales, fangs, claws. They have pointed ears and some of them have slit-like pupils. They are a mostly peaceful people, only really resorting to violence when absolutely necessary.

Elves: Elves hail from Oslein, but make up a majority of the populations of one of Aglea's clans. Elves are, by nature, a very logical and rational people. They use things for their intended purpose, rarely thinking outside of the boc. One such example is sex, which Elves use solely to procreate. Loyalty is important to Elves, and they take certain acts deemed traitorous extremely shameful and punishable by death. Most Elves are taught that knowledge is power and that they should enter a profession related to research. Those that take combat oriented jobs are often looked down upon. Elves have more highly developed Mana Lobes, resulting in having superior magic to that of humans.

Half-Blood: Being Half-Blood refers to two things: a Dracomorph with diluted blood or Half-Magianan/ Half-Earthling. Half-Blood Dracomorphs are much less than half-blood, but they still refers to themselves as that since they have the blood of two species in them. Half-Earthlings are often persecuted in Magiana, with people saying that they should return to their homeworld. The vast minority of people are Half-Earthling, and they have a lot of support. Being from a family that is only of Earthlings is easier than having a Magianan parent. Half-Earthlings have a slight chance of having a Mana Lobe, but if they do it is less developed so their magic isn't as strong.

The Scouring: The Scouring was the genocide of Pure Blooded Dracomorphs around 137 - 132 BMGC by Einhart Bradley Lancelot Magis the Conqueror. Deeming Pure Blooded Dracomorphs too dangerous, he ordered them slaughtered, and the lands he conquered complied. Even those yet to fly his flag fought with him. Only Dracomorphs who proved themselves to be civilized were spared. Calmanus was a civilized pure Blood who opposed Einhart and raised an army against him with other Pure Bloods.

Overseer: Overseer is the name of an international organization from Magiana that works for the Royal Family. They exist to prevent the exposure of magic on Earth and eliminate any and all people who might do just that, whether they be Earthlings or Magianans. They are composed of exceptionally powerful mages, and even the younger members know how to hold themselves in a fight. Assuming they have the bravery and conviction, people as young as twelve can join. As part of their mission, members of their organization act as advisers to world leaders, instructing them on what to do in regards to magic. They possess knowledge about magic that many people on Magiana don't know, even though it is the birthplace of magic. With their power and influence, they are essentially the Magianan Illuminati. On Magiana, they play a similar role, instruction world leaders on what to do that, in the long run, will leave humanity better off.

Overseer Divisions: Overseer is split into three divisions: The Combat Division, Investigation Division and the Enlightenment Division. The Investigation Division looks into crimes that could affect the entire world or a single part of the world, but very significantly. The Combat Division works closely with the Investigation Division. The Investigation Division is the brains and the Combat Division the brawn. The Enlightenment Division is the group that works in the shadows, putting things into place for the future. If decimating the present will lead to a prosperous future, they'd do just that.

Magi: Magi are Earthlings who, after undergoing certains experiments and mutations, gain the ability to use magic without the need for Sentinel rings. Potential Magi must be at least sixteen years old and undergo rigorous training to ensure that they are capable of handling the pain that comes with becoming a Magi. After the process is completed, Magi must undergo rehabilitation before they can use magic regularly without any repercussions. This period is usually a year, but some Magi are rehabilitated in only six months or less.

Magi Marauders: Magi Marauders is a sport created by Magi during the late 500s. The sport was originally created a s a way for them to test their new magic powers. The original game lacked the technological innovations of the modern version and was much more dangerous. In the early 600s, Nathaniel Dryer overhauled the game, introducing the enchanted armor that protects players from severe damage, and the projectors that simulate various environments, allowing the game to be played anywhere.
    • Magi Marauders is played by two seven man teams.
    • Players are allowed to use whatever magic they please, including Arms. However, some potion types are banned, such as poisons.
    • Game duration varies. Some games are allowed to go on for a half hours, and others two and a half hours.
    • Players are allowed to carry up to four potions with them, and two can be healing potions.
    • A player's armor has two jewels, known as vital points, located on the heart and forehead. Getting hit in either place is an automatic knockout.
    • Capture the Flag is a game type in which the two teams must obtain the other's flag and get it back to their side. Players who are knocked out must wait five minutes before being able to play again. Manhunt is another game type in which the objective is to eliminate the opponent. Each player can only be knocked out once. Capture the Flag Manhunt is a combination of the two.
    • Since Magi Marauders is basically simulated combat, it has very few rules; players can do nearly anything they want to achieve victory.

(Junior) Magi Marauders World Cup: The Junior Magi Marauders World Cup and World Cup Proper are two world championships that determine the best countries in the sport. The Junior World Cup is played by Magi Marauders teams from various Magic Schools, while the World Cup Proper is played by professional teams. The World Cup Proper takes place every four years and the Junior World Cup takes place once a decade. Once every forty years they take place around the same time. After each one, the two champion teams face each other in an exhibition match later that year.

Magiana Today: Magiana Today is an extremely popular newspaper that has existed since the 500s AMGC. The Fallon family helped found the newspaper, and are still involved in its circulation. Magiana Today is known for its objective, nonpartisan articles, making them an incredibly reliable source of information. Many people believe that that very fact is the reason the newspaper has existed for nearly two centuries.

Arms: Arms are weapons that have been enchanted with Beaststones to use some sort of magic. There are all kinds of Arms, from swords to axes to firearms. Enhancements Arms are a type of Arm that enhance one's magic. If someone used lightning magic and used lightning Arm, their magic would be amplified.

Heartstone, Darkstone & Beaststone: Heartstone is the name given to the four girls by the masses after their weapons, which resembles hearts. Ironically enough, the magic they possess comes from magical stones shaped like hearts that judge their hearts (As in morals and characters) known as Heartstones as well. The members of Heartstone have their magic and outfits reflect their personalities.
The Darkstone, like the Heartstone, reads a person's heart. Unlike it, however, Darkstones increase the owner's power depending on their emotions. The stronger their negative emotions (rage, sadness, envy) the stronger their magic. A bullied teenager who wanted to lightly burn a bully could potentially burn them to ash if they had a Darkstone. Darkstones are created when someone dies with their hearts full of such negative emotions. The power amplification of Darkstones vary depending on their size. Large, dangerous Darkstones are about the size of a fist, and come from people such as Sir Calmanus Ignatio Drachus Evirus, the Dracomorph Insurgent.
Beaststones are said to be the crystallized form of an animal's soul. Similar to Darkstones, animals with a particularly strong attachment to the world remain behind in the form of Beaststones. Beaststones vary in size, also like Darkstones. Unlike them, the size doesn't affect power, but how long the stone's power can be used before needing to be recharged, with is done with a special type of oil. Each species of animal has it's own type of Beaststone magic, and the species determines how strong the magic is. A dragon Beaststone, for example, would have stronger fire magic than a Lion Beaststone.

Scarlet Blade Under a Violet Moon: Scarlet Blade Under a Violet Moon is a three part story that's split into three plays. It chronicles the childhood, adulthood, romance and deaths of Inigo Montana, better known as the Scarlet Mask, and Rosa Ardonia Galonia in the city of Mezan, Aragon. It was written by Sir Leonardo Magnus da Venitia in the country of Troara from 375 - 380 AMGC.

Limited Point of View Act: The Limited Point of View Act was a law passed in the early years of AMGC, after several incidents in which visitors to a country were punished for accidentally doing something the natives viewed as insulting. It was passed during the reign of Henry Reindhart Magis III, who is reported to have said:

"Now that Magiana is a unified Empire, we are one people; we are brothers. We cannot have brothers turning against one another, especially when one is ignorant and ought to be educated. Unless a man has been in a country for six months, not a thing is to be done to him for doing something the culture deems insulting. Instead, teach him your ways so he will not make another mistake. After those six months, hold him accountable for all his actions and punish him as you see fit."

Prevention of Perjury Act: The Prevention of Perjury Act was a law passed shortly after the apparent murder of Gaius Manta in the late 300s AMGC. From the capital, Ferenicia, King Siegfried Beowulf Leopold Magis was reported to have said:

"In light of recent events, notably the tragic death of young Gaius Manta, the Royal Council and myself have become aware of a trend. Those accused of a crime appear to be unnaturally fond of lying before a court of law as long as it means they are not convicted. The same applies to their loved ones: family, friends, and what have you. Thus, we have decided to pass the Prevention of Perjury Act. From this moment onward, all defendants will be assumed to lie, and all of those close to them will be assumed to be biased, making them lie or alter the truth to make the defendant seem more innocent than they actually are. Unless absolutely necessary, only individuals with no relation to the defendant may be allowed to testify before a court."

Constitution Revision Act: The Constitution Revision Act was passed by William Magis II, during the early 600s, BMGC. He is reported to have said:

"With the rapid advances in technology our empire is currently undergoing, several aspects in our constitutions, both imperial and national, may no longer be appropriate. Therefore, the Royal Council has decided that, once a score, all constitutions must be revised to reflect changes made in society. Not only must technology be considered, but the context in which old laws were written. They must be revised or repealed, depending on whether or not they can still play a part in our lives.

Infringement of Privacy Act: The Infringement of Privacy Act was passed in the 680s AMGC during the reign of Gregory Magis. He is reported to have said:

"The privacy of all of the empire's citizens is extremely important to me and those on the Royal Council, but we have agreed that their safety is of greater import. Assuming that Overseer or a local guild has a reason to believe a citizen might be abusing someone close to them or planning some sort of nefarious attack on the public, they are allowed to do whatever it takes to investigate this citizen to determine their innocence or guilt. If after the initial investigation one is found to be innocent, all records are to be kept for up to two years. After those two years, records are to be destroyed. Anyone who releases private information, regardless of their position or how long it has been since it was collected will be punished accordingly by the law."

I know it's a lot, but I hope that you didn't read all of it and not think it has potential, because that would mean I essentially wasted your time. If you would like to play in an RP in this world, let me know so I can make the sign up thread.

  • Woah, that's a lot of text. As as you probably expected, I have a few questions, but first; I like where this is going, and I look forward to it coming to fruition. :D

First and foremost, what is the plot of the RP? Would we all be students at one of these "Magic Schools"? Would we fight some sort of huge threat that's terrorizing the world of Magiana?

Are there other magical creatures besides dragons in this?

You mention Earthlings a lot in this, but how do Earthlings travel to Magiana? Via spacecraft, as it is another planet?

Well, I read your whole post and must say that I love the whole concept! It sounds really great and I can perfectly imagine it becoming an adventureous, magical and political RPG. Would we be able to pursue our own goals or would we be given some? And would we be free to get creative with the magic system and create our own spells as long as they are balanced or do you already have something in mind? I really like the setting, but would like to get more information about the RPG adaption:)

To answer your questions, ジュナイパー ジュナイパー, I have thought about the plot just a little bit. I was planning to give players the ability to put their character on whatever they path they wanted, whether it be a student, a member of Overseer, a Magi Marauders player, or whatever. Then I would let everyone loose to do what they want, but make occasionally make posts about story events that either affect a certain group or everyone.

Any magical creature you can think of exists on Magiana, not just dragons. And by any you can think of, I mean those that exist in various myths and folk tales from around the world.

As for the commute between Earth and Magiana, that would be the work of a Ritual Magic Spell. Magiana is not in the Solar System nor is Earth in whatever Star System Magiana is in.

I was thinking of making a hybrid RP. You can do whatever you please, but every once in a while I would make posts about events that affect a particular group or everyone.

As for magic, like the definition of magic says, one's imagination is the limit, so just about everything is possible. However, if you have something particular in mind, I ask that you PM me about it so I can check it. For example, some sort of mind control thing wouldn't be allowed, unless it were a Lost Magic controlled by Overseer, and you give me reason to believe your character is worthy of it. However, I doubt I'd allow such an overpowered magic.

As a side note, I like to think of the types of magic as a skill. You can either focus on a single one and get really good at it, or divide your attention among a lot but only be okay with them all. The power of the spells a person can successfully cast is dependent on their amount of experience with it.

It looks like a pretty awesome universe but you have so much established canon it might make it intimidating for people to jump in because they don't want to step on any toes.

As I said, I know there was a lot. Would you be able to elaborate on what you mean by stepping on toes? I might be able to help people without seeming too controlling or restrictive.

Just feels like their is a lot of elaborate lore that people might not want to contradict or otherwise run afoul of and it might restrict their creativity is all.

I see. I understand how that could be a problem. I'm not sure if they're be solution other than for to chime in every once in awhile if someone makes a mistake. I might try to think of potential solutions. At the moment, it might be easiest for people to ignore everything not related to what they want their character to do. Like, unless someone is a Magi Marauders player who uses Buddha, they Don't need to concern themselves with the game, lineage magic or any of the chakras.

But if anyone feels like their creativity was being restricted, I'd do my best to help them.

It's been a few days since the last post, which was made by me. Should I leave this thread for a little while longer, or just assume that people aren't as interested in this as I'd like and leave it behind?

I'd just leave it up, the RP corner is probably just slow(hopefully not dead) right now.
