Mapinfo overwritten but maps still there. any chances?

    So i updated from v15 to v16. i have copied all files of v16 to my project folder and have overwritten all files. (in win 8 you can only choose to overwrite all)

    so i recognized that my maps are all gone/ not recognized by rpg xp when i open my project.

    my mapinfo file has been overwritten but i still have my unopenable 242 maps.

    any chance this is ever going to work again? i put a lot of work into this and this is pretty annoying right now :(

    please help!
