    iTunes, Quicktime, and VLC.

    iTunes for music
Quicktime for any movies (other than commercial DvDs)
VLC for anything that won't play in Quicktime (mainly just for MKV files)

iTunes for music and VLC for video. There's even an ad for it in the sponsored links.

I use Mediamonkey for sorting and playing through my music library.
Other than that i use Media Player Classic for playing any audio/video file i want.
It's simple and starts at the click of my fingers.

    iTunes for everything XD
It's so much cleaner and easier to use than anything else I've tried.

I use Windows Media player for everything. If needed for some video files, I'll use VLC media player.

    This.
I tried other media players and they either A) Didn't work. B) Were too complicated. C) Annoyed me in some way.

    Lilith Music Player.
I hear it has "a unique way of handling mp3 files and as a result makes music sound better."

Although I use it more or less for the cute fan-made skins.

I use Windows Media Player for music because I can't be bothered to find a better one. I have CCCP and would probably use WMP for videos if it had a screenshot option, but it doesn't, so I always use VLC for video. I like getting screenshots haha. I have to use iTunes for my iPod, I like it much better than WMP, but I haven't bothered to change it to default yet. I'll have to remember to set it to default for music sometime haha.

I use iTunes for absolutely everything too (:
Although I'm too lazy to update it, so I'm still using version 7.something. >.>"

I use Winamp for my audio and Media Player Classic (MPC) with K-lite codec pack and Real Alternative codecs. (K-lite doesn't install the real alternative codecs I dont think)

Basically those two can play back anything I throw at them
Other media players I have but dont use primarily

    • Windows Media Player (I generally use this if for some reason MPC malfunctions or doesn't like the file, which is rare. Usually if MPC spits the file out though, WMP will too, so it's not very often I find myself using it.
    • Zune (I mainly use this to manage my podcasts and such, and my Zune. It doesn't support a whole lot of formats, which is annoying because I have to convert the files if I want to be able to carry something on my Zune 30gb. I start it up and run it in the background mostly to sync my Zune and keep the library up to date.)
    • Toshiba DVD Player (This came with my laptop but I avoid it like the plague because it usually crashes. Only reason I keep it installed is because If I uninstall it, Windows refuses to play any DVD format disc no matter what. Shitty drivers ftfl)

VLC media player + Media Player Classic + Windows Media Player (just because it's there already) + CCCP = All you need to play ANY form of audio and video. That's what I believe anyway.

Even though I have already made a contribution to this topic, I'd like to add in that I've been using iTunes a whole lot more because I got a DSi recently and it's really helped convert my mp3s to m4as. =)

For Music I use iTunes. For everything Else I use MPlayer. The Best you can get and I lets me use the same software on all my machines (Win/Mac/Linux). Only gripe I have is sometimes it drops frames on my netbook, although thats more the crappy Intel graphics than MPlayer.

    iTunes/VLC.

I should probably find something else better than iTunes but I'm lazy.
