  • Not sure this is much of a debate given the current substance of the OP and all but I'll bite:

I do genuinely meditate when I've had a ridiculously awful day. Not with the absurd humming and that, but I'll close my eyes, sit back and try to just clear my mind of anything for a good 10-20 minutes. Results vary, with either the original mess being too hard to shake, or if it was just a hectic sort of day, I'll probably have that strange mood afterwards where everything is stupid and everything is funny.

...this is a rare occurrence, I'm not insane, I swear.

  • Meditating is the bomb. I find it really helpful when I'm anxious. I haven't done it much recently, but when I have the energy I just clear my mind and let go of my thoughts for a good half hour and I feel great afterwards. When I achieve blankness of thoughts, it kind of feels like tripping. Which is magical.

Hey there, I'm just going to move this one over to General Chat for you. It's more suited there.

To answer this thread though, mediation is something I enjoy, but don't do enough of these days. It's hard to find a place when you live in the city with multiple people. Something I need to do is find a decent spot. I tend to actually put on a playlist I enjoy on Spotify which helps drown out any excess noise, and also brings in some chilled vibes.

I really think that if more people did meditate, we would have a much, much more peaceful planet.

She asked if you meditate, not if you get high.

I started meditating lately and Im still not sure what to think of it. It definitely does something, and that something feels good, but weird.

ninjaflowers, if you're looking for something to meditate to, try searching for "white noise" on youtube, and check out two longish videos with some space pictures. It's better then usual meditation music because its not so distracting.

  • I meditate whenever and wherever. As long as whatever my current problem is is removed from view, I can sit and relax, and just let it all fade away into nothing. It's like getting high without a substance - it's a lot of fun and puts that dumb expression on your face, but you definitely feel better afterwards and unlike a drug return to a middle ground as opposed to a low. :)

  • I've never needed to meditate, so I never have. It's an interesting subject though. I once knew a person who had to meditate every few hours to control his anger, and it worked flawlessly.

  • Dunno, I don't do it. Someone came in in highschool once and had us to do it and I thought it was the stupidest thing. My mind doesn't shut off and I don't want it to be

I do do some Yoga poses though. I feel good after those.

  • Alex used Meditate!

    Alex's Attack rose!

I don't know about consciously making myself meditate, but I let it happen naturally when I can get alone and get a safe distance from my current threat. Maybe I should consciously meditate at will, but then I might ruin my ability to do it so easily naturally if I try forcing myself to in a more immediate fashion. I always end up doing it after conflicts and trying to make myself do it sooner may be unhealthy mentally.
