BATTLE ISSUED WITH SHADY GUY! SHADY GUY SENT OUT RATTATA!

Tabris countered with Nidoran. Obviously with it's type advantage move, Double Kick, this match was in Tabris' favor. However the small purple mouse, got fist strike with it's Quick Attack. Rushing forward as a literal blur, the rat crashed into Nidoran. Not having the level advantage as Tabris' other Pokemon Nidoran staggered back, even if it was only slightly. Rotating its body around Nidoran jabbed out with both it's hind legs, catching the foe Rattata under the chin. Launching up into the air in a neat backflip, the opponent's Pokemon managed to hang in, just barely.

The Shady Guy ordered a Super Fang, and Tabris called out a Poison Sting, simultaneously. Rattata's fangs grew while glowing with a white energy. Nidoran simply took a position and readied its horn. Taking initiative Rattata ran into striking range and dug it's fangs into Nidoran's neck. This left it wide open for the Poison Sting to land a Critical Hit, even though a normal hit would have done the job the same.

OPPONENT'S RATTATA FAINTED! NIDORAN ♂ GREW TO LV. 17!

A list of his Pokemon's new stats appeared before Tabris who quickly read through, and dismissed the Alert.

SHADY GUY SENT OUT SANDSHREW!

The Ground type, would normally put Tabris at a disadvantage, but he had fought one in Brock's Gym, and won nearly effortlessly with his trained Charmeleon. Swiftly he withdrew Nidoran♂, and sent out his starting Pokemon. Taking the stage the orange salamander gave out it's cry, spitting a small amount of useless cinders into the air. Having been Trained primarily in Speed Charmeleon was issued the first move. "Dragon Rage." Tabris spoke from behind his oversized lime scarf.

A blueish purple colored flame leaked between Charmeleon's fangs. Sandshrew was on the approach, claws in the air, with a prepared Fury Swipes. However once Charmeleon belched out the ball of dark fire and made contact, the opponent's Sandshrew couldn't stand up to the Base Damage inflicting technique.

TABRIS DEFEATED SHADY GUY! GOT $106 IN WINNINGS!

Out to the side, Nidoran♂, popped out of his Pokeball, and began it's Evolution Cycle. Tabris however swiped his hand in front of him and hit the cancel emblem, and instantly his Pokemon was returned to him. 'Not quite, yet.' Tabris spoke mentally.

"What! I'm just looking for fossils! This place is littered with 'em!" The Shady Guy barked at Tabris before simply walking off. 1/3 Shady Men Investigated. A long wide open hallway lay before him, the walls of which were damp and covered with moss. Tabris figured he must've been on the lowest level of Mt. Moon, as the light provided was by hanging string lamps. Something he only seen utilized in the Paras infested passageways between ladders.

"Ahhaha! I'm a member of the notorious Team Rocket! I'm going to be rich!" An identical man to the one he just defeated cheered, echoing through the hall. Approaching the black uniformed man, Tabris called out to him. "Hey! Bring it on Shady Man!" Turning to face him with a startled jump, the man, already had a Pokeball in his hand. "What?! Who are you?! I'll teach you to mess with Team Rocket!"

SHADY GUY DEMANDS A BATTLE! SHADY GUY SENT OUT ZUBAT!

You've gotta be kidding me?! If there wasn't enough in the cave itself!" Tabris complained, sarcastically. Preparing his Pikachu, for yet another uneven mis-match.

PEPPERTON

«Philippa Watson»

Pepperton wandered in, her (his? Was she a he? She had to get used to this) eyes scanning the area. It was dark, that was for sure, but he would not waste a precious spot on his Pokémon's moveset for a otherwise useless TM. Using his brains, he released his Charmeleon to be by his side. The light from his tail made it better, but not completely clear. Never mind, it wasn't like Mt. Moon was going to be much of a problem. These wild Pokémon would be seriously underlevelled compared to Charmeleon, Nidorina and Noctowl that Pepperton scowled at himself for worrying.

Besides being dark, the cave was bland. It was mainly just rocks and dirt. No pretty, glowing stones or markings in the wall. Just... rocks. It wasn't as if he expected anything else, but it was a little disappointing going from rich and colourful routes to this dark and musky cave. Pepperton made a mental note that he would find everything there was to find, then hastily move on. Cerulean City was next and from what he could remember from the video games, it sounded far more pleasing to the eye.

Once you were past the cave's main entrance, it wasn't hard to spot the NPC trainers and quest givers lolling about. And it was easy to tell them apart. The quest givers always seemed worried while the trainers were determined and obviously looking for trouble. Pepperton decided on the quests first. That would be easier for now. He could at least fetch some cool loot before moving on to sweep the trainers. Or do both at the same time.

Pepperton approached a worried looking Hiker, playing with his fingers and walking around with unease. As soon as he came into view, the Hiker dashed over to Pepperton, splurting some kind of nonsense. Instead of listening, like usual, he brought up the quest screen and gazed over it.

The Thief of Mt. Moon

Adventurers have found their belongings going missing mysteriously while crossing Mt. Moon. While nobody has ever caught a glimpse of this thief, some claim that it lives deep within Mt. Moon, resting atop its throne of stolen goods.

Please find this hooligan and return my wife's precious necklace to me. I was having it appraised in Pewter City and she would kill me if she found out I had lost it! I'll reward you handsomely!

Reward: 3000P

Pepperton raised an eyebrow, but accepted the quest. It certainly sounded odd, but nothing that was too out of the ordinary. Perhaps if this thief did live on a throne of belongings, there might be something useful amongst it. The quest didn't specify if the culprit was man or Pokémon, but it was all too easy to guess that something that live in a cave on a pile of junk was a Pokémon of some sort. Or an extremely poorly adjusted human.

With less than a glance at the Hiker, Pepperton gestured to his Charmeleon and headed off into the depths of the mountain.

Route 106

The ocean waves glistened from the morning sunlight that seemed to engulf the entirety of the Hoenn region. Entranced by the game's graphics, a young man stared at the vast amounts of water in front of him, a small, red fox lying quietly in his lap. The game had been out for over a month now, yet ShadowTorn couldn't help but let himself fall into the world's endless beauty. He just couldn't. Everything was so life-like and extraordinary. It was as if it was a million times better than the world he truly resided in.

In comparison. Manhattan was almost colorless, it's appearance uniform to many other cities on Earth. The MMO was set up in a way that every setting, whether it include any individual town or route, was unique in it's own way. It's uniformity was there, but in such an imaginative way that it worked flawlessly and without trouble.

Smiling a little bit, the young man proceeded to open his MENU, moving his hand as if turning a key. He had been in the game nearly all night and despite knowing it was time to LOGOUT, he had continuously pushed the thought out of his mind. Sure, his body may be rested but he knew his mind wouldn't. He would be tired no matter what. With a small swipe, the MENU reached its bottom to where the LOGOUT button was...or at least usually was.

Tilting his head in confusion, Torn shuffled through the MENU a few times, a tinge of panic entering his movements as he did so. There wasn't a LOGOUT button. It was gone. Don't let the game glitch now, he thought, closing and opening the MENU several times before hearing the tone that often notified him of a message. The GMs must have noticed...

Sighing with relief, he opened the new message. His relief seemed to dissipate immediately as he read through it.

To: ShadowTorn
From: Anonymous

"You and a few others have been chosen.

From now on, you cannot log out. From now on, you should not white out. For if you do, you will not wake up again. Neither here nor in real life.

If you want to escape the game, you need to win 8 Gym Badges in total from any regions and then defeat 2 teams of Elite Four from any regions. Gyms are ranked 1-8 in every region and you have to beat at least one Gym from every rank. It is only when you manage this that your LOGOUT button will reappear.

Be aware though, that only one of the chosen players can escape the game in the end. If you are not the first player to achieve the set goals, you will be inside this world forever. Or white out. Of course, should every other chosen player white out before you, you will be the winner regardless of how few Gym Badges you have got or how many Elite Four you have defeated.

Remember, if you have to go out, go out with a bang."

In seconds, the world that he had just thought of to be beautiful was but a prison. Torn read the message over and over again, the truth behind it getting stronger and stronger. He was trapped in the world's new found virtual confinements.

For awhile, the shock seemed to leave him frozen, his response only happening after the Vulpix in his lap began to move.

"Vul," it mewed, setting her feet on the sand as she began to stretch. The Pokemon was completely oblivious of what was happening. She was just pleased to be with her trainer.

Sighing, he responded. "Looks like I'm going to be here with you guys for awhile." Putting his face in his hands, he let his mind wander. What can I do...?

The Pokemon gave a smile, or at least as much of one as a fox could make. At least one of us is happy.

'Unlocking' the MENU once again, Torn scrolled to his FRIENDSLIST. Almost as if she knew something was wrong, his best friend logged on, her location apparently being at the PokeCenter inside Dewford. With a small hint of relief, Jason opened up the message box. She needed to know.

To: AMburnt
From: ShadowTorn

"Alice. I need you to come to the next route. I'll be standing right in front of Granite Cave, I need to show you something..."

Standing up, he turned towards the cave in the distance and began walking. "Come on Vulpix. We're going this way."

• Tabris - Mt. Moon

It was nothing for the Leveled, Hasty Pikachu to zap down the opponent's Zubat. The same as it would to any of the wild counterparts. This Shady Guy, only had two Pokemon as well, and his second was a repeat of the formar man. A Rattata took it's position. Tabris sighed, sure he certainly didn't mind the easy Exp, but this Quest was seemingly more of a nuesense, than a challenge. However the payout was nice, and Tabris couldn't argue that. Expecting the man to use Quick Attack like in the previous battle. Tabris ordered his Pikachu to use it's own Quick Attack, first. However even with Pikachu's great speed, empasized further by the yellow streak running along the cave's floor. The foe's Rattata however used Sucker Punch, instead. Catching Pikachu off guard, Rattata slapped her hard across the face with its tail.

Getting a mouthful of dirt Pikachu squeeked,"PIKA!" Pushing herself up but staying on all fours, sparks flying from her rapidly blinking cheeks. Tabris flinched when he seen the moderate damage dealt. It wasn't anything to truly fret over, but it managed to put Tabris on edge. Trip 'im up Pikachu.. Double Team! After getting the order Pikachu sat up on her hind legs, only to be knocked down, by the now issued, Quick Attack. Pikachu zipped back and fourth in quick succession until there was an after image. A small blue light flashed around her body as an indicator chimed.

Tabris noticed his Pikachu was pressed down to below half HP, but at the same time, took notice to the electricity surging around his Opponent. It'd been afflicted by Pikachu's Ability. He shuffled to his bag signaling Pikachu to return to his side. It wasn't too difficult for Tabris to fish out a Potion that he sprayed on his Pokemon, returning her health nearly entirly. Rattata hadn't moved, twitching from being fully Paralyzed. Opportunity was his. Another Quick Attack!

Pikachu ran forward yet again. This time she was't caught by a counter move, and was able to put her full weight into her forehead. 'Bashing skulls' with the Rattata sending it sprawling backwards Pikachu scuffed at her opponent. Rattata shoke it's head and hissed back it's fangs glowing with energy. Hyper Fang. Rattata lept forward sinking it's teeth into the back of Pikachu's neck. Using momentum the opposing Pokemon wasn't finished as it rolled over the yellow mouse, letting go once back on the ground, just in time to throw Pikachu across the rocky surface of the cave floor.

This match had certainly taken a little more effort than expected. Tabris raised his hand then quickly brought it back down. A signal he'd recently made with Pikachu, while battling Wild Zubat, to order her Thundershock. Rattata flinched again fully taken over by the Status Effect, stopping its attempt at yet another Quick Attack. Pikachu glared and built up her electirc energy until she was surrounded by it. Casting it forward the quick crack of a lightning bolt zapped the Rattata into submission.

TABRIS DEFEATED SHADY GUY! GOT $106 IN WINNINGS!

Way to hold it together Pikachu, you'll be able to a rest for awhile, here shortly. "And you! What is it, you're going on about?!" Tabris motioned to the Rocket Member with his index finger.

"Haven't you heard? The Rocket Gang was disbanded. I'm just looking for fossils. I'll be rich selling them!" The Shady Guy laughed as he ran down the hallway towards the exit. Again with the fossils? Tabris shrugged. Wonder if there are any actually around? He thought to himself, progressing down the single passage.

Being so close to Leveling up. Tabris took the time to take out a couple more Wild Zubat so that his Pikachu could grow to Lv. 23, before making his way to the next room...

Peria (Dahlia Reynolds)
route 30 --> route 31

PARTY
Ani152MS.png
Ani161MS.png

css by Nebula

Peria picked the correct direction (luckily), and continued waltzing on her way. She didn't encounter any player, unsurprisingly. They were probably all way farther than she was, if she was being realistic, which is why she needed to hustle. Computer characters, on the other hand, were everywhere.

"Hey, you!" yet another youngster demanded as she walked by, pointing theoretically intimidatingly. "Let's battle!"

Peria easily put her plan into action. "I forfeit," she declared easily. The money immediately left her bag, and the youngster retreated, apparently satisfied. She mock-whistled and carried on her way.

She probably could've beaten him, really. Her Pokemon were way too strong for this area thanks to blind wandering, judging by the level she scanned the wild Pokemon to be with her Pokedex. Assuming her Chikorita didn't beat them up immediately, anyways. But this was part of her plan. Trainer battles were way too risky. She could run from wild Pokemon battles if need be, but there was none of that in trainer battles. If she was going to spend hours leveling her Pokemon up in a place where they were ten levels weaker, so be it.

Peria mused about her team. Chikorita was definitely her powerhouse, right now, though she supposed that was the way the original three Pokemon were to make the game easier. Sentret was doing decent, as far as she could tell. He leveled up quickly, at least. She definitely needed more variety in her team, but she didn't actually know what kind of variety there was. She knew of seven types so far: Fire, Water, Grass, Normal, Flying, Bug, and Poison. She had figured out there was some sort of rock-paper-scissors-except-more-complicated going on between the types, though.

She had decided to hold off on getting more Pokemon until she encountered a nice player that would tell her more about the types and everything. She didn't want to have some major gaping weakness, or something. Peria sort of wished she had a notebook, now, to keep track of all her thoughts. Her plan was a little bit overwhelming to keep track of sometimes. Peria thought about that lazily before shaking her head. If she couldn't even keep track of a simple plan, how did she think she would learn all of the type stuff? Easily she told herself to focus, and continued her march down the path. Man, did she wish she had opted to take track and field in school.

---------------------------------

After another unspecified amount of time that was significantly longer than the other unspecified amount of time, the path veered off abruptly to the left. The environment felt slightly different as well, and her in-game instinct signaled that this was a new route, where she could possibly find new pokemon Peria grinned, happy to break the monotony. For an adventure, walking sure was boring. Maybe she should have run down the path, actually. She didn't seem to get particularly tired, or at least she got tired a lot slower or something. Furthermore, hunger wasn't really a big problem. Food was nice, but not particularly necessary.

The most striking thing, however, were among the NPCs, there were some player characters. Maybe she had gotten close to where most of the others were. Hopefully, someone would be nice enough to show her the ropes of Pokemon. In the back of her mind, Peria recalled the message she had received. Maybe she would meet someone who was in the same situation as her. Hopefully they would be friendly, at least. First, she checked the status condition of her Pokemon, a bit concerned with all of the trainers about. They seemed fine, at least. The Potions she had received at the beginning of the game that thankfully she hadn't abused had been serving her well. Carefully she stepped into the new route, glancing about for someone possibly nice.

Aurora- Dewford Island
Team
Spoiler:

"Yeah..." He said scratching the back of his head. "My pokémon fell through the brittle floor while battling a Makuhita. I didn't even know this was possible inside a game. MAO certainly is different." Aurora looked at the boy as he spoke. Certainly is different, after all I'm going to die here, but it's worth it she thought at the boy sighed.

"Eh, thing is, I've got to go down and find her, but I don't have a pokémon who knows FLASH. So I'll have to rely on my Combusken to light up the way with bursts of attacks for me. You..." he hesitated for a second. "You wouldn't happen to know FLASH or have a pokémon that can also light up the environment a bit?"

Aurora smiled kindly at the boy. "Trust me I know this game is different, I just got the strangest message sent to me by an unknown sender" she said and shrugged. "Names Aurora by the way, I'm a big fan of the story Sleeping Beauty" she called out two Pokemon her Fennekin and Flabébé appearing before her.

"and of course I'll help you. Queenie can help light the way with her fire type moves, and Fae can help with Dazzling Gleam." she smiled looking at the tiny white Pokemon on a yellow flower floating in the air beside Queenie.

156.png

It was a short walk from where Parker was training, to the entrance of Violet City. Parker was very happy that she had made it thus far. Mina, who had decided to accompany her, walked right beside her, glancing over at the many Bellsprout statues around town. Parker took a quick glance at Mina, who was very curious.

"Something the matter?"

The Mienfoo looked up and shook her head. They both continued to walk.

A few moments later, they finally made it to the front door of the Violet City Gym. Unfortunately, there was a sign that said CLOSED. Parker wasn't looking forward to seeing that. She then became confused, wondering where she should go next in this city. She immediately began to glance over at the Bellsprout statues that were around, leading to a tall tower that was at the other side of town. She then looked down at Mina and nodded. "What are you thinking?"

Mina stood there. Her right eye was glued to the tower.

"But, isn't it far though?" Parker responded, "Now we have to go through THERE?" Too much effort. I want to face Falkner nowwww."

Parker stamped her foot on the concrete ground, until suddenly a message popped up in front of her. It was a new quest sent to her! Parker's eyes widened and stared at her screen, reading the prompt out loud to Mina.

New Quest: Sprout Tower
Sprout Tower is home to those who study how to live with Pokemon. Your mission is to explore the Sprout Tower, and defeat all of the sages in the tower. You will earn a hidden machine for your Pokemon at the end, and gain entrance to the Violet City Gym.

Parker sighed at the prompt, and closed it. She was too desperate to earn her very first badge, and now it has been delayed even more. She trained KC and Mina so hard. They were both ready to fight. She began to follow Mina and the Bellsprout statues, leading to the three-story tower ahead of them.

• Tabris - Mt. Moon

...It was a rather large, open, but dead end room. Occupied by yet another Shady Guy in Rocket cloths, antagonizing a lab coat wearing NPC. "Hey give it up! I found it!" The man struggled with the scientist. The two seemed to be fighting over a large rock, a fossil. Tabris stepped forward Charmeleon out of his ball. I think I know who's in the wrong here. He spoke, icy blue eyes on the former Rocket Grunt with an obvious intent. Glancing over his shoulder, the dark clad individual shoved the scientist roughly getting to his feet, a sturn look on his face. "You Have no idea who your messing with, kid." The NPC stepped down from a ledge against the wall to be standing in the middle of the room.

"A member of the oh so famous, Team Rocket? Yep, your exactly the person I'm looking for. Tabris retorted calmly, motioning for Charmeleon to take position. The high leveled lizard smiled and spat out flicker of fire off to his side stepping forward into the open.

BATTLE ISSUED WITH SHADY GUY! SHADY GUY SENT OUT KOFFING!

The purple gas inflated balloon hacked out it's unhealthy cry. Charmeleon instantly lifted it's head back filling it's mouth with a dark heat. Lashing forward a DRAGON RAGE was fired upon the Opponent's Pokemon. Engulphed in the blue fire Koffing floated up into the air, surviving the hit. It's counter attack was to spit a filthy black, SLUDGE. The grotesque fluids drapped over Charmeleon's head splashing off his shoulders. Stumbling backward Charmeleon shook off the repulsive slime. Growling his disapproval his body turned a dark shade. The fire tailed salamander was able to run in and deliver a SCRATCH, by leaping up into Koffing's vacinity. Slicing through the air with it's extended claws, Charmeleon spiked the balloon in the cross bones sending it hurling into the dirt below. Charmeleon landed safely almost on top of his opponent. However a purple wave moved down his form, his HP dropping a little from the POISON.

"SMOKESCREEN, Koffing! Now!" The Shady Guy ordered his severly weakend Pokemon. Barely keeping it's composure, Koffing spouted out a thick black cloud from the tiny spouts scattered around it's body. Enveloped fully in the gas an emblem chimed that, Charmeleon's Accuracy fell. Charmeleon was still however right on top of the Poison Typed opponent. Point blank range Charmeleon spat out a number of cinders over the Pokemon. Unable to hold on any more, the Koffing was returned and in his place the Shady Guy sent out an Ekans. Charmeleon flinched from the status effect of poison rushing through his body.

Tabris laughed mentally at the referance, noticing that this man had three Pokemon with him. Charmeleon I know you can take a little more. Show 'im what we've got! EMBER!" Obeying the command after a quick nod of reassurance. Charmeleon shot out a small burst of flames that barely caught the Ekans in the side. It's coils writhed as it spat out it's counter attack, POISON STING. Glowing white needles came from the purple snakes mouth lodging themselves into Charmeleon's stomach. Another wave of Poison washed over him. Even after all the abuse the Status Effect Charmeleon was just now nearing half HP. Knowing that he'd found a Antidote awhile back, Tabris still wasn't worried. He also had a pretty good idea of what his opponent's next Pokemon would be, and an idea of how to take out it, and this Ekans. A handy move to have early on, DRAGON RAGE!

Charmeleon shot out another dark fireball at the ever moving Ekans. His artificial vision was blurred, and unfortunately caused him to miss him target entirely. The serpent wavered around the assult and latched on to Charmeleon's body. Wrapping its body tightly around the orange salamander sqeezing a small portion of his health away. Both the BIND and POISON Status Effect now chipping away at his Pokemon's HP. Tabris narrowed his eyes. Charmeleon roared and belched up another DRAGON RAGE surrounding both Pokemon, but only inflicting base damage on the Ekans. The snake however survived the technique much like Koffing had, and continued it's BIND attack. Being hurt by the toxins one more time, Charmeleon was getting into the dangerous range. However he managed his part of the tactic. Tabris returned his Pokemon clipping the ball on his belt. Moving his hand up to the front he through out his next Pokeball.

Pikachu emerged from her ball scratching her ear with her little front paw. Sorry Pikachu. I promished you a break, but this one's weak. Finish it with a QUICK ATTACK! Tabris pointed to the opposing serpant. Pikachu spun around and faced her target lowing her head launching forward with incredible haste. Pikachu slammed her shoulder into the Ekans' face. Sending it across the ground, out cold. Nice one, Pikachu. Hang in there one more round! And last but certainly least, Meowth, right? Tabris called out to the Shady Guy just as he let out the little feline Pokemon with a gold coin on it's head. Another mental laugh filled his head.Good one. Pikachu! Use THUNDER WAVE! Then TAIL WHIP! Tabris commanded.

Pikachu let loose a blue ripple of energy that instantly PARALYZED her opponent. Shaking off the initial effect Meowth opened it's mouth wide running forward clamping it's teeth down on Pikachu's shoulder. Damn thing won't quit chomping on Pikachu! Tabris called internally thinking back to all the Zubat's LEECH LIFE, and his previous opponent's HYPER FANG. Pikachu issued its next attack while the car was still latched on. Slapping it back, dealing no damage but lowering its Defense. Pikachu was freed. Yet in similar condition as Charmeleon. Tabris returned her with a smile. "You've done well, Pikachu. Pulling out his final Pokemon Nidoran.

Meowth usually would have the advantage of Speed, but thanks to Pikachu, Nidoran was granted first assult. Swinging its body so that it was facing away from the target, Nidoran shoved one hind foot into the felines gut then it's second into its face. The Super Effective move did even more damage, again thanks to Pikachu. Meowth hissed and got ready to unleash another BITE, but the Paralysis over took its body. Couldn't have worked out better...Go on Nidoran, finish this up!" With a second barrage of DOUBLE KICK sending the final Pokemon bouncing across the ground.

TABRIS DEFEATED SHADY GUY! GOT $159 IN WINNINGS!

"Fine! Didn't need that stinking fossil anyway!" The last Shady Man grummbled as he walked out the room and down the passage. Come on now don't have to lie about it.Tabris smirked opening his menu, below it he seen the Quest Icon blinking.

Investigate the Depth of Mt. Moon
3/3 Shady Individuals Investigated, return to Quest Giver to recieve rewards.

Tabris turned towards the exit, but looked over his shoulder to the other NPC. The Scientist stood silently in the back of the room, still holding on to his fossil. His menu still opened Tabris cured Charmeleon's Poison, and used the one Super Potion he found within the cave. Restoring his other two Pokemon with two of his three remaining Potions. He prepared for the trek back, but instead walked over to the Scientist. "You alright?" He asked helping the man up.

"Y-you saved me..? Thank you very much!" The NPC Scientist gave his appreciation. "Say how about you take this fossil as a thanks?" He inquired deviously. The dim lights of the string lamps reflecting off the thick lens of his glasses. Tabris rose a brow at this and took a step back. Not going to be as simple as handing it over is it? He countered. "Haha, of course not! This thing is precious to me! But if you can beat me in a battle. I may be able to part with it. What you say?" Tabris held back a chuckle. "Sure why not. Your on!"

• Fox (Jason Hussey)
Route 32
Team:
Spoiler:

The door of the Pokemon Center slid open, allowing Fox to step outside. He extended his arms out, stretching a little, before sinking both his hands into the pockets of his trench coat. He had just logged in for the day, and he already had an idea of what he wanted to do.

He began walking back up Route 32, when a NPC tried approached him. "Hello there! My name is Frieda and…" she began to say but he ignored her and just kept walking. He knew who Frieda was, he had practically memorized Pokemon Silver, but he had no interest in doing a quest of any sort.

After about a 15 minute walk, he stopped and picked a tree to rest against. This will be the perfect spot to troll on an unsuspecting player, he thought. Perhaps it was an unhealthy addiction, but the thrill he got from trolling people was like no other. As real as MOA felt, he knew it was just a game which meant how a person felt about him was irrelevant. Though he thought it was more their fault than anything as it would be rather silly to trust someone who's named after an animal known for being treacherous. Besides Fox wasn't who Jason is in the real world, or at least that's what he liked to think.

It had taken him about a day in total to get from the top of Route 32, all the way to the Pokemon Center at the bottom and that was with Joey's, his Rattata, Run Away ability. He had barely seen any Players on the path, mainly NPC which he avoided the best he could. So he figured it would be a while till someone crossed his path. Even though that was yesterday, he knew that MOA was a lot harder to navigate through than the original games. It is one thing to see the trees flat on a screen and a completely different thing to see them towering above you.

He didn't care much for training his Pokemon, his main goal wasn't to battle or to be the very best. This was probably one of the reasons he was able to get to this point in the game so quickly. While other players spent their time building up their teams he just zoomed past them doing the minimum work, which seemed to be enough anyway. Of course, there were plenty of trainers that were already miles ahead of him, but people who were new to the Pokemon world were behind him and those were the people he was interested in. The fact that he was a bit farther than those players actually served his purpose more than he could have hoped. Any player that came across him got the impression that the reason he was in ahead of them was because he was an expert player. With that mind set any advice from him was taken seriously without need for much proof at all.

An hour or two passed by and no one had yet come running down Route 32 trying to get to the Pokemon Center as he expected. But if there was one thing that he was, it was patient. He knew that timing was everything, and didn't mind waiting for the perfect moment. However that didn't stop him from dosing off. It wasn't uncommon to sleep in MAO, the game was designed to feel like the real world meaning you got tired just the same.

After an hours sleep, something suddenly woke him up. It was a trainer, coming up Route 32 and he was talking to himself. Fox wasn't expecting someone to come up the route, this would surely be interesting. "How much more do I have to train? This cave is too much!" the voice said out loud before mumbling a few curses. Fox got up off the ground, and started to stretch when he saw the player whose avatar was an exact copy of how a player would look like in Pokemon FireRed.

He quickly approached the new comer who had a rather grumpy look on his face. "Hey there, you seem upset. The name is Fox, what's wrong?" with that said Fox extended his hand out to the player.

The player was a little startled at first as he hadn't seen Fox coming. He was in a hurry and was relieved that Fox was friendly. He grew a faint smile as he shook Fox's hand. "Oh, I'm Cooper. And it's nothing, just that pesky Union Cave. I've already whited out like three times trying to get through it."

"Ah, well the cave isn't that hard. I actually just made the trip from Azalea Town to here, all you really need is a water type Pokemon and it's a piece of cake."

Fox's face gave no sign that he was telling a lie, in fact he looked rather serious giving Cooper no reason to not believe the player in front of him. "Oh that's right!" Cooper exclaimed as he placed his hand over his face, giving himself a facepalm. "A water type would be super effective against most of the Pokemon in the cave! Why didn't I think of that?"

Fox smiled at the embarrassed player. Everything was going perfectly. The best way to troll someone was to gain their trust and that was easy accomplished by using the truth. Now that he had given Cooper some real advice, the player wouldn't expect that Fox would lie to him even if he was offered something absurd.

Cooper turned away from Fox and looked up Route 32. "Thanks so much Fox, I know what I've got to do now!"

Just as Cooper began walking away, Fox call out for him. "Hey Cooper, hold up!" Cooper turned around to face the trickster, that he just met, who continued to speak. "You know, maybe you don't have to go looking for a water Pokemon. I mean, I have one… Perhaps I could give it to you, not for free of course but we could work something out!"

Cooper didn't know what to say, he was thrilled by the idea. "Really?"

"Yeah, sure thing! I don't need to go through the cave anymore and you obviously need him more than I do."

"Wow thanks so much!" Cooper hastily began thinking his things to find something he could trade for. "Ummm, I guess could trade you my Venipede! But I don't know if that is good enough. She's only level 15 and your Pokemon is probably at such a higher level."

Fox didn't care what he got, the Pokemon were just data to him. All he wanted was to see the look on Cooper's face when it was all said and done. However he couldn't make it look like he was willing to give up his Pokemon so easily. "Hmm. True, but throw in a Super Potion with that Venipede and we've got ourselves deal!"

Cooper quickly nodded and pulled off the bag from his back. After searching the bag for a while, he pulled out a Super Potion then removed a PokeBall from his belt.

Fox smirked seeing that Cooper was in such a hurry that he didn't even bother to ask what the water Pokemon was. "You know, it would a lot faster if you used the virtual bag". This was too easy. He removed Arceus' PokeBall from his utility belt and extended it out to the foolish boy wearing the classic red Pokemon hat. Cooper then handed his Pokemon and the item over to Fox in exchange for the water Pokemon that he desired. The Super Potion dematerialized as it was transferred to Fox's virtual bag.

Fox watched in amusement as he saw Cooper clap his hands twice to active his menu. It was only a few minutes later that all of Fox's waiting was made worth it. He saw Cooper's face change from that of extreme joy to that of confusion and then rage. "Magikarp? You gave me a Magikarp! And he only knows Splash!?" Cooper began shouting at Fox.

Fox couldn't help but start laughing "Well I never said it was a good water Pokemon, now did I?"

"Give me back my Venipede, Now!"

"I'd love to stay and chat but…" Fox swiped his hand in the air, as if he was waving good-bye which activated his Menu. "Log out" fox whispered with a sinister grin.

Everything had gone perfectly up until now. Fox was expecting to dematerialize and wake up in the real world, except nothing happened. He cleared his throat and tried again. "Log out." His grin was now completely wiped off his face, something wrong and that was when he noticed it. The log out button, it wasn't there.

"What are you doing? This isn't funny!" Cooper shouted at the puzzled character.

Fox stayed silent, he didn't know what to do, this had never happened before. He looked all over the Menu, searching for the Log Out option but saw a small notification on his Messages instead. Surely this wasn't the time for that but what could he do? So he raised his hand to click on the message causing it to pop out in front of him.

From: Anonymous

You and a few others have been chosen.

Remember, if you have to go out, go out with a bang.

What? No, no, no… This was a joke, he thought. He was being punished for taking this kid's Pokemon. There was no way it was real.

Before he could think or react anymore to the message, Cooper charged at Fox and tackled him to the floor. "Give me back my Pokemon!" The Message was automatically closed as both Fox and Cooper fell to the ground. Cooper then tried to throw a few punches at Fox. After the first right hook hit Fox's cheek, he quickly raised his hands to protect his face. Fox then managed to grab a hold of Cooper and pushed him off.

Both players got up on their feet. "I'll show you!" Cooper shouted as he angrily clapped his hands together twice.

A few moments later a virtual window popped out in front of Fox.

Player Cooper has challenged you to an all out Pokemon battle, do you accept?
[Yes] [No]

He didn't have much of a choice. If he didn't accept Cooper might attack him again, and if he got beat up enough then he would white out. He didn't believe the anonymous message. It was a troll, it had to be… But what if it wasn't. He wasn't sure he wanted to find out the hard way.

for him.

I'm trash.

2. Nebula
Theme Song:"Not There" - Younha

Note: Anything underlined means Nebula is unknowingly speaking out loud.

On the boat to Dewford, passengers could hear Nebula sigh. She wasn't enjoying the sky or the freshness of the sea breeze, she was just staring off into the distance while rubbing her stomach.

It was obvious that Nebula was sulking. A few minutes ago, she had finally remembered that she was supposed to go to the doctors the next day. Her recollection was like something stabbed her heart and kicker her pregnant belly. She was supposed to find out the sex of the baby and she was going to miss it all because she couldn't log out.

What sick humor did these administrator people have to deny a mother's joy of finding out the sex of her baby?

Messed up (insert curse word here).

She lazily slid her arm to open the menu. She was hoping the log out button would appear miraculously in the corner, but to her dismay it wasn't there. She clenched her hands in anger, and was going to close the menu when she noticed that one of her close friends was online.

She touched the name "Star Shower" with her index finger to open a message box. She pursed her lips before typing up a quick message:

Nebula: Kathy, I need you to get Simon and your doctor boyfriend to my apartment. Get someone.

Star Showers: Jordan? What why? ARE YOU IN LABOR?

Nebula: No Kathy… I'm only three months.. No anyways, I am stuck in the game.

Star Showers: What do you mean you're stuck?

Nebula played around with her inbox and then fowarded the message to Star Showers. She waited a couple of minutes before she got another notification.

Star Showers: You're joking right?

Nebula: Sadly not.

Star Showers: KATHY BOT TO THE RESCUE!

And then she logged off. Nebula closed her window and let out a small chuckle at the last message Kathy sent her. It was… what she needed to get her out of this bad mood.

Nebula felt the ship stop and a voice over the intercom telling the passengers that the boat had finally landed on the shores of Dewford. Many people, mostly trainers, sprinted off the boat. Nebula looked at the sky for a moment before standing up.

Granite Cave here she comes.

Marcello : Granite Cave

The girl smiled kindly at Marcello.

"Trust me I know this game is different, I just got the strangest message sent to me by an unknown sender" she said and shrugged. "Names Aurora by the way, I'm a big fan of the story Sleeping Beauty."

"Oh, haha. Aurora, I see!" Marcello chuckled nervously, actually remembering that movie from some time long ago.

Aurora called out two Pokemon - her Fennekin and Flabébé appeared before her.

"And of course I'll help you. Queenie can help light the way with her fire type moves, and Fae can help with Dazzling Gleam." She smiled looking at the tiny white Pokemon on a yellow flower floating in the air beside Queenie.

Marcello's interested mind got the better of him immediately. "Those are Kalos pokémon, right? I never played those games much actually..." Then something she had said suddenly hit him. "You... You got an anonymous message? Did it, uh, by any chance say something about a LOGOUT button?"

He tried to sound casual but realized as he was speaking that there was no way this girl wouldn't guess that he too had gotten the message now. He felt like the blood froze in his virtual veins for a moment. What if his secret was out now? What if she would try to beat him here and now to get one less rival towards freedom?

Waiting for her answer, Marcello started to slowly back away, towards the ladder nearby which he knew led to the lower grounds of the cave.

? : Route 33, Johto

The cape fluttered behind the hooded character as he left Azalea town on his way to the Union Cave. The MENU was up, moving along at a static distance from him no matter his pace. He was typing messages back and forth with another PLAYER as he walked, and onlookers would find him seemingly flustered.

"you know how some players get emotional and cry when they white out? I'm telling you, this was different. one of the players screamed and tried to run away when the rogues were about to hit his last pokémon. WHO runs away? no one does because you can't escape a battle that way. and the other player just stood there quiet with the most terrified face I've ever seen in MAO. and then they disappeared. I couldn't find them in Azalea."

The virtual weather system was certainly realistic. The wind caught the mantle and forced the player to grab it and forcefully get it out of his face. In the sky, the afternoon sunlight faded and gave way to darker clouds.

A reply came quickly.

"They probably respawned in Goldenrod."

"no, they didn't. I heard them say they were on their WAY to goldenrod through the forest. listen to me, they whited out and didn't respawn."

"A glitch, then. Maybe they ended up in New Bark again."

The hooded person squinted to see further ahead. The rocky mountain that held Union Cave was just ahead now. He had just been lucky, or in bad luck perhaps, to meet ROGUE PLAYERS this early in the day in the forest. They sure were more courageous in caves and forests than out on open routes. But these must have grinded their pokémon higher than usual; they beat the two unsuspecting PLAYERS before the hooded character could make the ROGUES white out. He had seen them in Azalea afterwards, apprehended by NPC police and stripped of their money and items. But the victims had not showed up.

He had an idea. Pulling up the MENU once again, he searched their usernames. You could not see more than a name and whether or not a PLAYER was online if you weren't friends with them. If you were their friend, you could also see PLAYER LEVEL and location.

But he didn't find anything. They had not even been logged out. It was as if those usernames didn't even exist in MAO all of a sudden. An even more ominous feeling came over the hooded character.

"what's going on?"

The reply came less quickly now; he was already at the eastern end of the short Route 33 when it arrived.

"Nothing. Keep doing your job."

• INTUITION
RN: Lucas Young · Lv: 67

Route 3

The suspicious anonymous message that arrived only a few minutes ago should of made Lucas a lot more worried. The actual disappearance of the log out button whenever he clicked to open up the menu should of made the situation worse. But Lucas wasn't fazed at all. He had tapped on the message, read it, shrugged and sighed, and then dragged it onto the trash can. It's probably some kind of prank by a hacker or something, it'll probably be patched soon, he had thought; and anyway, it meant more of an excuse for him to keep playing even more.

"But man, whoever did this prank is pretty outlandish and extreme - taking out the freaking log out button! Some of the stuff that guy wrote was pretty scary as well, especially that whiting out bit... imagine every single player in MAO was locked down like that - people here would go crazy! Well, whoever that fella is will probably go to jail when the police get in the case, maybe I can get a lawsuit in-"

Before Lucas could finish his thoughts the grass in-front of him suddenly started shaking ferociously, and almost instinctively a few flicks led a Pokeball on Lucas' hand. A few seconds later a bird-like creature flapped out of the turf and started squealing towards Lucas, who recognized the Pokemon instantly. He threw the Pokeball he had on the ground and shouted:

"Come on out, Pikachu!"

The ball exploded to release the Electric mouse onto the field, and with a cute cry and sparks on its red cheeks the yellow rodent stamped its hands on the ground, ready for a command from its trainer. Lucas didn't waste any time himself, and, pointing towards the flying Spearow, yelled "Thunder Shock!"

Recognizing the command Pikachu darted forward a few steps before flying onto the air and squeezing it's whole body in, letting out a spark of voltage onto the wild Spearow, who reacted badly to the super effective move and flapped a few times to regain composure. A moment later the bird flew down with its wings strapped onto the side of its body, its beak directing towards Pikachu. Lucas recognized the move. It's using Peck, eh?

"Move out the way, Pikachu! Then try another Thunder Shock!"

Pikachu reacted instantly and managed to side-step just in time, and before long another zap of electricity struck the wild Spearow. The attack had dealt the final blow, and after the yellow bolt had vanished the wild Spearow cracked into thousand mini pieces and below a screen came full of stats and rewards from the battle. One particular detail made Lucas grin.

"Sweet, Pikachu finally leveled up! One more and I can finally get the OP Double Team, hehe."

Happy with the results from his grinding, Lucas chose a repel from his Inventory and made his way towards the Pokemon Center not far from the spot he was in. The anonymous message he had received not-so-long ago was far from his concerns, no matter how suspicious it was.

Aurora- Dewford Island
Team
Spoiler:

"You... You got an anonymous message? Did it, uh, by any chance say something about a LOGOUT button?" He said and immedietly Aurora realized that he too had gotten the message.

"Yeah, I did and I'm guessing from what you said that you did too" she said softly noticing him backing away from her towards the ladder that led to the lower floor.

"You don't have to worry" she continued walking over to her with her Pokemon at her side. "I don't want to win this...I'd rather die or be stuck here than go back to the real world" she said honestly. "I want to help someone win this. I want to help someone else who is stuck here get out." she smiled sadly. "I'll only ask that person for one thing in return for my help"

• Tabris - Mt. Moon

Tabris sent out Charmeleon to stand up to the monster consisting of a filthy pile of sludge. There wasn't much time wasted before Charmeleon used his DRAGON RAGE. Tabris certainly didn't waste his use of the Dragon Type move, while it still served a perpous. Grimer was instantly brought down to barely over a quarter of its health, by the single technique. Retorting with a noxious blue cloud, released from its constantly gaping mouth. Grimer used POISON GAS. A basic Poison Type move that didn't deal any initial damage but afflicted the target with the Poisoned Staus Effect.

Not holdin' out on this one! Finish it right away! DRAGON RAGE! Tabris ordered. Again Charmeleon angled his head back, filling his mouth with a negative energy, before releasing the ball of dark fire taking out the Fossil Maniac's first Pokemon. His only remaining one was a Magnamite. The Electric/Steel Type Pokemon hovered watching the Poison take effect on its opponent. Charmeleon smiled even through the toxified state. An orange flicker was noticed from deep in his throat. Charmeleon spat out a Super Effective EMBER attack that took out the competition effortlessly, even before it could make a move.

CHARMELEON GREW TO LV. 26! TABRIS DEFEATED FOSSIL MANIAC CHARLIE! GOT $89 IN WINNINGS!

"I-I lost so easily?" Charlie seemed to question the possiblity. "Well I guess that a deal's a deal hear take this Fossil. It's a Dome Fossil, it was once a Sea Faring Pokemon, named Kabuto...I heard that there's a lab in Kalos that researches the revivial of fossilized Pokemon...Also some musium in Unova. Well thanks again and good luck on your journey." Charlie handed over the Dome Fossil then turned his back to Tabris examining the walls, most likely looking for areplacement fossil.

Tabris held his hand over Charmeleon's Pokeball. Guess he'd have to back track now to the Quest Giver to get his MoonStone. Then make his way to the Pokemon Center outside the cave to restore the Poison afflicting his Starting Pokemon, before passing through to Cerulian City.

PEPPERTON

«Philippa Watson»

Pepperton found himself rather deep into Mt. Moon. Charmeleon still by his side, as time went on it was getting easier to see, probably because his eyes were adjusting to the dark. The mechanics of the game astounded Pepperton, to include such a feature. It would be far too easy to forget his real self, or real life. That wasn't an issue for Pepperton, though some others might disagree.

Each of his Pokémon had gained another level thanks to training (par the poor spot-filling Rattata). The Pokémon in here were small fry (Pepperton did have to remind himself to be extra careful with the Geodudes though) thanks to their instense levelling, so training had been a little more tedious than usual. She had expected this - like every Pokémon game, it was obvious that the lower level wild ones were and the higher level you were, the longer it would take to train to even higher levels. Trainers were a little bit better than the wild ones, but still... he needed a real opponent.

Something ahead in the dim light caught his eye and Pepperton cautiously stepped forward, only for the light to eventually reveal a pile of... stuff. Potions, berries (that looked a little past their useby date), empty PokéBalls, gloves, rocks, random healing items... just stuff. Pepperton pocketed some of the more useful items (like potions and PokéBalls), carefully trying not to encumber himself with too many of them. Amongst these items though, Pepperton could not find the necklace. The only other logical place it would be was the 'hooligan's' neck.

As if on cue, a ominous growl came from behind the 'throne' of goods, and out jumped... a fairly unscary pink monster. Though Pepperton knew exactly what it was, his PokéDex eager to educate him anyway.

CLEFABLE - The Fairy Pokémon. A timid fairy Pokémon that is rarely seen, it will run and hide the moment it senses people. Its hearing is so acute it can hear a pin drop over half a mile away. It lives on quiet mountains.

Pepperton raised an eyebrow. Obviously, this Clefable had not read its entry and didn't know it was meant to run away from people, not steal their stuff and attack anyone who came back to reclaim it. Something shined around its neck and sure as heck, there was a necklace dangling as if to tease. Pepperton rolled his eyes, gesturing to Charmelon to fight.

"Start with a Smoke Screen, buddy." Charmeleon nodded, spewing a dark smoke at the Clefable, covering it completely. The Clefable coughed horsely, fanning the smoke away with its hands. It growled, and ran forward, arms glowing in preparation for a double slap. Pepperton gave a smirk as the attack missed and missed again. A Smokescreen was the perfect starting move to gain the upper hand almost instantly. What good would a Pokémon be if it couldn't attack? "Use Ember."

Charmeleon obliged, letting a few balls of flame spew from its jaws. The Clefable was way too underleveled to sustain such a hit, falling to the ground and attempting to pick itself back up weakly. It attempted a sing but again, with that lowered accuracy, the music was feeble and went no where.

"Good job, buddy. Finish it off with an Ember." With another flurry of flames, the Clefable fell to the ground, fainted. Pepperton casually walked over to it, taking the necklace from it before it disppeared. "Nice going."

A final look back at the throne allowed Pepperton's eye to be caught by something else. To anyone else, it would look like an ordinary rock, but to Pepperton it was...

"A Moonstone!" He said, hastily picking it up and inspecting it. Indeed, it was the evolutionary stone needed to evolve Nidorina later on. How had he missed this the first time? He smiled, pocketing that and giving Charmeleon another nod. When the fire lizard gave a happy gurgle back at him, he retraced his steps to find the quest giver.

Marcello : Granite Cave, Hoenn

"You don't have to worry," Aurora said walking over to Marcello, who had stopped in his tracks, with her Pokemon at her side. "I don't want to win this...I'd rather die or be stuck here than go back to the real world."

The words sounded honest, but Marcello (or rather, Markus) had seen his fair share of bullies bluffing throughout the years. He couldn't know who was hiding behind that pretty girl avatar. It was she who had brought the predicament up though... He briefly wondered what her real life must be if she'd rather let her mind stuck here forever while her real body perhaps rotted away in the outside world.

"I want to help someone win this. I want to help someone else who is stuck here get out." Aurora smiled sadly. "I'll only ask that person for one thing in return for my help."

Marcello glanced at the ladder just beside them and then back to the girl. "So you... Would not only help me find my Castform down there, but also... Help me more? In return for what one thing?"

Gym Leader Misty : Cerulean Cape, Kanto

A difference from the earlier games was that the gym leaders weren't static, standing in their gym waiting for challengers all day. They were programmed with the most advanced AI personalities in MAO, except for maybe some legendary pokémon...

Misty was standing on the beach at Cerulean Cape in the digital afternoon sunlight. To her, life was supposed to be bliss. She had powerful water type pokémon under her command, she had a PLAYER next to her whom had won a "Date of the week" challenge and thus got to accompany her to this place as a fun treat in-game. She was programmed to be happy and quirky.

But something felt wrong. Being a digital being, her mind separated from the main MAO core program through mere lines of code, she felt like any human would feel if there was something odd with their system. Nauseous.

The PLAYER on the date certainly got a surprise when Misty suddenly ran to the beachline to throw up into the sea. He worriedly asked her how she was feeling when she slowly walked back to where he sat in the sand.

"I think it's time to head back," she mumbled. "Sorry."

((OOC: picking up on what Aura Blackquill wrote about Misty being away! And putting some foreshadowing in too...))

• Madalyn Martinez [Parker] - Sprout Tower
133.png
619.png
156.png

The giant chamber-like doors closed behind Parker and Mina. Darkness ensued around them, as the light from the fire torches along the pillars holding the floors of the tower illuminated. She proceeded slowly, walking towards the swinging pillar that was in front of her. On the left side of the pillar was a large staircase that led to the second floor of the tower. Mina remained a little cautious, as she remained close to her trainer.

The tower was a little quiet, and sages were around the first floor, but none of them seemed to spot Parker as she headed to the staircase. She started to wonder if she had to battle the first sages on the first floor before proceeding. As there was one standing next to the staircase, she decided to walk up to him and ask.

"Excuse me, sir." Parker said, waving softly.

"The sages are upstairs." The sage said, then he pointed to the swinging pillar. "You see that pillar? That means all the sages upstairs are training vigorously. The faster the pillar swings, the stronger our sages are."

Mina gulped, enough for the whole first floor to hear.

The sage then stepped out of the way for Parker and Mina to walk up the stairs. "Thank you for the information, sir." she thanked, as she stepped on the first step.

Many moments later, Parker and Mina arrived on the first floor. The first sage she spotted was right next to the staircase railing. He then spotted Parker, and startled her with his hand pointing at her.

"You there." he said, "We must battle."

Sage Niko
wants to battle!
[Accept] [Deny] Pay Loss

The Deny button was greyed out.

"Uh....!!" Parker hesitated, she didn't expect her first battle to be right next to the stairs! The sage from the first floor should have warned her in advance, but she couldn't expect anything. She glanced down at Mina, who was ready for battle. "Go Mina!"

"Fooooo!" She shouted.

"Go, Bellsprout!" the sage yelled out, throwing out a Pokeball towards the floor. Out came a small Bellsprout, level 7. As Mina was higher-leveled, she had the full advantage.

Hah, if all the Bellsprouts are around that level, this whole quest would be a piece of cake. Parker thought of herself. It would only take one hit for her level 17 Mienfoo to beat this puny Bellsprout that was 10 levels down. "Mina, use Pound attack!"

Mina jumped up and tackled the Bellsprout down the ground, stomping on it with a crushed sense. The Bellsprout lost all its energy right after that pound attack. The HP meter quickly went to zero, which made the Bellsprout break down in data pieces.

Sage Niko was defeated!
Parker earned $200 in winnings!
[OK]

"That...was easy?" Parker told Mina. "I was hoping for stronger Bellsprouts but I guess we could pass this in a breeze." The sage stood there, not saying a word. Parker shrugged and moved on, looking for another sage to battle.

The Nugget Bridge Challenge was as crazy yet tough to beat as Natsumi thought. The challenger after Newman was a young lass who would love to talk about her Nidoran♀ and how cute yet strong it was. However, when the battle came down to it, her Nidoran♀ was so reluctant to battle that it ran away as soon as it was brought out of it's pokeball, leaving the lass to only drag it back to battle by it's tail. It faced Natsumi's Growlithe, in which after a quick and intimidating glance towards it, Nidoran♀ fainted on sight, leaving Growlithe as the winner.

The next challenger was a young boy, who identified himself as a young camper. He talked about his tales upon encountering a really big yet unidentified pokemon, and how he loved to roast marshmallows with his Ratatta, but, soon realized this had nothing to do with battling, so he sent out his Rattata, only to be greeted by Natsumi's Eevee. Eevee loved the Rattata's teeth so much that she wanted to wear them. Of course, Rattata was reluctant to give them, as Eevee chased after it with her quick attack for 5 minutes until Rattata ran right into a pole, and fainted out of pure exhaustion and headache from it's head throbbing. Eevee was disappointed to find out that Rattata's teeth are stuck on the Rattata forever, as with all normal teeth are.

Challenger number 4 was a girl who was a picnicker. Natsumi wasn't quite sure what a 'picnicker' was until the girl always talked about picnics: what is good for a picnic, what not to bring for a picnic, what to wear for a picnic, why picnics are actually called 'picnic's, how many times one can say the word 'picnic' until the word becomes weird to pronounce, and so on.
Her pokemon, Meowth, was quick enough to dodge Natsumi's Wartortle's Water attacks, until the picnic lover yelled at it to stop because it was ruining the grass it was standing on, since it was ideal to a future picnic. It took one water gun to the face and promptly fainted. "Well, i-it wasn't the ideal whether to a picnic!!" the girl snapped as Natsumi advanced on.

Finally, the last challenger was another young lad, who apparently loved to stomp on people as he blurted out, "I WILL STOMP YOU!" after Natsumi greeted him with a simple hello. His Sandshrew loved to stomp on nearby ants, but Natsumi's Eevee disapproved, so it quickly tackled it to get it to knock it off,, or else the ants will develop magical powers and will turn Sandshrew into an ant for its punishment on stomping on ants. Eevee replied, 'pleeasy squeezy cheeesy??' after Natsumi commanded it to use it's Baby-Doll Eyes move. Sandshrew fell for the eyes, because, everyone falls for those cute eyes, as Natsumi told Eevee to finish it off with a quick attack, fainting the enemy Sandshrew.

"No, no, NO!" the lad shouted as he was stomping on the ground after each 'no' he yelled. "Fine! You win the challenge! Take this Nugget!" He got out some sort of gold substance and gave it to Natsumi. "It sells for a high price on PokeMarts! You've earned it!"

"Thank you very much!" Natsumi thanked as she bowed. "This was a lovely challenge to raise my pokemon's experience too!"

"Yes, now! How would you like to join us!" the lad asked quite promptly.

"Er, us?" Natsumi asked. "Whom do you mean?"

"What! Don't you know who us are?!" the lad babbled. "We are US!! WE DON'T NEED TO IDENTIFY WHO WE ARE!"

"Okay?" Natsumi replied. "Although, I still don't know who you mean by us--"

"It's just US!" the lad explained. "And I am TELLING you to join! Or do you need convincing?!"

Okaaaaay... he's crazy, Natsumi realized to herself after a sigh. Then she had an idea. "Um... Uh... hey look! A distraction!"

"WHERE?!" the lad asked as he turned away to the nearby lake. Natsumi however, hi-tailed it as fast as she could out of the bridge, and towards the cape.

• INTUITION
RN: Lucas Young · Lv: 68

Route 3

Entering through the glass doors of the Pokemon Center Lucas greeted the Nurse with a smile and gave his Pokemon to heal. Not many PLAYERS were in the Center itself, and only a handful of NPCs with nothing of importance could be seen. Remembering that his LOGOUT option was gone from the menu, Lucas decided to ask a few people around to see if they had the same problem too, while he waited for his three Pokemon to heal up. He found it strange that the Game Masters nor GameFreak hadn't made some sort of announcement or gave any news about something huge like this, but he brushed it off for now.

Lucas approached his first PLAYER, who was seating down on a sofa, playing around with his inventory.

"Hey, sorry to bother you buddy, but have you heard any news of when the LOGOUT button will be back?"

"When the LOGOUT button will be back? What are you talking about mate, it's right here," The guy signaled this with pointing at the option from his own menu. Lucas raised an eyebrow and after thanking the PLAYER walked to ask others about the same thing.

Trouble was, even after researching with six other PLAYERS the answer was the same thing. No one's LOGOUT button was gone. He checked several times afterwards, clicking frantically to open his menu, trying to look for the button in every nook and cranny of every possible menu in the game. But it was pointless. He really was stuck here, in MAO, with no clue on how to get out of the game at all. Then he remembered the message.

Well, thank god that this mail system having a trash can, otherwise I would of killed myself for obliterating the one explanation there was for this whole mess... A click and a few gestures later Lucas was back on the message he received fifteen minutes ago, and he gave it a hard long read. His forehead crumbled with confusion on every word, and alarm bells started ringing on his mind.

---

I can't stay here forever. No way. Not happening. Even if my real life isn't the best right now, even if in MAO I'm literally doing what I wanted to do all my childhood, even if I would die happy catching and battling with virtual Pokemon... that's the problem. This world, this thing, it isn't real. And I can't live like this. I'm still young; I've got so much life left in me. And I can't let go of that just so I can pretend to do something that doesn't even exist for the rest of my existence.

I've got to get out. Somehow. And if that message is true and whoever did this is not lying, then there should be a few others who are stuck here like me too. As much as I hate to do this, I need to come out on top. I'm not lagging behind them. I won't 'white' them out as that's horrible but if I need to I guess I can... slow down their progress. I mean, I can't be the bad guy here. I'm sure all of them are thinking of doing the same thing, some worse than others. But I won't be the one losing.

My parents wouldn't have wanted me to stay here forever, to waste my time not living. And my sister, she's... still in coma. What if she wakes up one day, to find out that her brother is gone forever in a place which doesn't even exist? Oh god, my sister... Ellie... I-I need to see her again... I can't die like this... what kind of a brother would I be if I don't take care for her? Who would pay the bills to keep her alive? There's only so much money left in my account.

I need to win. For her and for me.

• Tabris - Mt. Moon

Tabris alternated between Pikachu and Nidoran to take on the swarming Zubat and occasional Geodude, reserving Charmeleon's slowly dwindling HP solely for the purpous of defeating any Paras that tried to attack. Overall it was a reletively easy, still Clafairy-less journey back to the Quest Giver. The information was passed on how the trouble makers were nothing more than old Team Rocket Members that were after fossils. Tabris explained how he chased them off, and they shouldn't be a bother for awhile. Giving his thanks the spelunker handed over the wad of bills and the small grey Evolution stone for completing the objective.

The entrance to the cave wasn't terribly far from his current position, so Tabris decided to move quickly running from any Wild Pokemon encounters he came across. Being that the Pokemon Center was just outside the cave he wandered over giving the Nurse his Pokeballs heading over to a table to wait the few moments it'd take for them to be restored to full health. Waving his hand infront of his face, Tabris opened his menu, and checked for the 'Log Out' Button, but of course it hadn't reappeared. He let out a sigh as he rubbed the back of his head.

Only thing Tabris cared about in the real world was his snakes, they'd be able to live for quite awhile without food, water was another story though. He still had a couple weeks before they'd be in any real danger, but then a seemingly obvious thought crossed his mind, catching him off guard. What about his real body?! How long would he really be able to last?

The familiar chime of his Pokemon being healed snapped Tabris back to reality, or at least what was his current reality. He rose to his feet and walked back over to the desk to recieve his Pokemon. Nodding his appreciation he once again made his way to the exit door and into the Cave. Figuring he'd have to make the best of his situation he quickly went back into gamer mode. Maybe Clefairy were more common at night, it seemed likely, but he lost his motivation for looking, and he wasn't too sure about waiting around until it got dark.
