It's not happened to me, I kept my Shiny Togepi on Soul Silver.

Props on getting a Shiny Sableye, even if it glitched up though ¬.¬

Trying to solve this. Was it a traded egg? The only logical solution I can come up with is that all the calculations were rechecked, and seeing as the Trainer ID had changed (which comes into the shiny calculation) it was no longer shiny. This is a COMPLETE stab in the dark, mind.

EDIT: someone has confirmed this for me.

    Code:
<JakeyBoy>	now for my next case

<JakeyBoy>	I must solve this mystery
<GreatMazinger>	it's a rare situation that can occur with trading eggs
    <JakeyBoy>	yes
<JakeyBoy>	that is what I thought
    <JakeyBoy>	https://www.pokecommunity.com/showpost.php?p=5848640&postcount=4
<GreatMazinger>	because the OT name of the egg is changed when it hatches to correspond to the trainer who hatched it
<GreatMazinger>	instead of the trainer who obtained it in the first place
<GreatMazinger>	this change doesn't occur until immediately after the hatching scene
<JakeyBoy>	that's pretty much exactly what I said
    <GreatMazinger>	in short
    <GreatMazinger>	game freak trolled him

Yup, if you hatch a traded egg and it appears shiny, there's only a 1/8192 chance that it's actually shiny. This also holds in reverse; a traded egg which hatches non-shiny has a 1/8192 chance of being shiny when you check its stats.
Incidentally, this glitch is actually the only way to get a shiny Manaphy.
