This afternoon we were contacted by a man named Martijn Müller, the webmaster of an old and famous Zelda website. He claimed to have insider information on Black and White, and after spending a few hours verifying he was who he claimed to be, we decided to indulge and see what he had to say. Granted, we often get a lot of people claiming to know insider information on Pokemon games, with some going to extreme lengths to fool us. However, he has revealed insider information to gaming communities before, which leads us to believe he is telling the truth. He also personally showed me some developer material from Black and White, which further cemented to me that he was telling the truth. Nevertheless, this information could be one highly elaborate scheme (it wouldn't be the first time), so for now, please just take all of it with a grain of salt - it's not confirmed and could be fake. As a fan site it is our duty to post rumors when we have gone to reasonable lengths to verify the sources, which is why we decided to post this. Remember, grain of salt!

    • There will be 157 new Pokemon, bringing the total amount to 650.
    • Like how Giratina compliments Dialga and Palkia, a large, green snake will accompany Reshiram and Zekrom.
    • Tauros will have an evolution: Minotauros. It stands on two legs.
    • In previous games, either through moves or through abilities, players were able to alter the weather conditions of the battle field to boost certain types. For example, Groudon's Drought summons sunlight, which boosts Fire-type moves by 50%. In Black and White, players will be able to collect certain items that alter the weather conditions of the battle field. Approximately twenty of these items will affect the weather conditions so that they will boost certain types (kind of like Stadium cards in the TCG?), with some types getting added bonuses depending on the item. As a side note, in today's CoroCoro scans, there was a screenshot showing a new weather indicator (we overlooked it), which could give credence to this claim.
    • One example will be setting up a Poison Field, which causes all Poison-type attacks to gain 30% accuracy, Sludge Bomb to have a 100% poison rate, and the effects of Toxic Spikes' poison to have an immediate effect.
    • Black and white, good versus evil, and yin and yang are going to play a major part in the plot. However, unlike previous Pokemon games, the decisions and choices you make will "influence" the plot of the game. If you make "good" choices, you might get certain help or items, whereas "bad" choices could have negative effects. The point is that the plot will not be as cut-and-dry as previous games, changing depending on the player's actions.
    • Tsutaaja, Pokabu, and Mijumaru had rough designs over this past year or so, but in the last few months received major overhauls, becoming the final designs we see today.

Minotauros? Oh wow, this generation is going to be amazing.

    Wow. Uh...

I like the ideas, but I think they would release a Japanese name before an English one. Sorry maybe no Minotauros, or maybe one of a different name...But these are probably just rumors. :l

Good idea an the yin yang thing. If any body has played shadow the hedgehog for gamecube, they know the mechanics of how good, and evil choices can effect the game.
Wouldn't that be cool if, by the end of the game, you could either be the next pokemon champion, or the leader of theam Plasma (or what ever team)?
And, on that note, you might even beable to choose a role:
Pokemon: Trainer; Ranger; Badguy; Breeder; Thief; maybe even a business man. Like you could work your way up to owning a string of Poke Supermarts

This is my favorite rumor, right now. I've always wanted to see something like this implemented into a Pokémon game. I would be extremely happy if this turned out to be true!

Tauros doesn't even need an evolution though. He already has 100 attack and 110 speed, not to mention anger point. If he evolved it would be overkill. ._.
    ^ this

A pre-evolution on the other hand...

As cool as some of these are, the dead giveaway that these are completely fabricated is the fact that Minotauros was given an English name instead of a Japanese one. XD

I still want to see a karmic branching plotline. :D

He has he potential to be amazing though.
Up him to 120/130 Attack, keep his speed the same.

Electabuzz, Magmar, and Scyther didn't need evolutions either, but they sure helped.

Minotauros could be its Japanese name. . . In Japan Tauros is just Kentauros.

Like I said though, even if a Pokémon doesn't need an evolution, getting one can still be a lucky break.

Also regardless of stats, a minotaur would just be cool?

Ying and Yang is NOT good versus evil. It resembles the balance of natures, the aggressive Yang and the gentle Ying. Men are born with more Yang and Women are born with more Ying. Both still possess the qualities of the other, but need one of the opposite to create new life through balance.

Good versus Evil in terms of Ying and Yang is a western rendition to it. Since most of the Pokemon games are more influenced by the oriental heritage, this is highly doubtful.

As for Minotauros. Would be cool, but not likely because of Tauros's stats, and the fact that it has an english name.

If this is the owner of an RP site, I question how he could even get his hands on this information like this other than through word of mouth from other people speculating the same thing.

Yes, this is highly, HIGHLY false.

Tauros' name in Japan is Kentauros, making Minotauros a completely viable Japanese name, as addressed earlier.
Also, Pokémon with higher stats have been given evolutions before.

If this is the owner of an RP site, I question how he could even get his hands on this information like this other than through word of mouth from other people speculating the same thing.
This person is the owner of a Zelda website, has given insider information before, and is personally believed by the webmaster of Pokébeach.
I fail to see how this is a case of word of mouth.

Yes, this is highly, HIGHLY false.
    False? Maybe. Highly false? Lolwat.

Some of this stuff sounds interesting. I can't see the third Pokemon of the trio being green though... They already have a green, Legendary Dragon. I can't see them repeating this.

The whole good-bad influenced plot is definitely cool and would definitely give us a bit more of a modern RPG feel.

Why would we need a 3rd installment of a Large Green Cobra? Too close to Rayquaza and we JUST got introduced to Tsutaaja. I think this is fake... at least I hope it is but the weather effects sound great.
