I have an elusive Nintendo Pokemon Center New York Guitar and can't find any info on it. There is not a single instance of it being sold on eBay or otherwise EVER.

When I ordered it direct from the New York Pokemon Center in 2001 it was priced at $495.95 retail + $24.99 shipping.
They removed the item from the inventory immediately after my order the same day. I was worried that it wouldn't be delivered at all, but it was.

Does anyone here have anything to say about it? I believe there are pencil marking denoting it as "#4" manufactured. I really wouldn't be shocked if there were no more than 4 in existance, being that nobody has ever seen one besides the Nintendo World Store Display case.
The below Meowth picture with the guitar is from the included paperwork.

If thats real, then nice! That may fetch a pretty penny. You should keep it though.

Yep, it's real. Just like the one that was on display in the glass case at the original Nintendo Pokemon Center in New York (Now the Nintendo World Store).

I'll probably be offering it for sale on eBay shortly. 11 years since it was first offered for sale, Ive never seen another listed for sale. I've never even heard of another person that owns one besides myself!

Wow, I've never seen that before. Do you play? If so, what's it sounds like?

Yes, I play. To me it sounds like a single coil pickup in a humbucker sized cavity. The internal speaker leaves much to the imagination, same as the Japanese Fernandez guitars. I figure this guitar was probably also made by Fernandez. The similarities between this and the um-jammer-lammy guitar and ultra man editions are uncanny.
This is a real guitar and not a toy. Wood body, bolt on neck, GOTOH tuning machines, etc.

Plug this into a nice amp and it sounds like heaven.

I will probably post this collectors piece up for sale on eBay within the next week. There has never been another ever offered for sale on ebay, or ever offered for sale anywhere else in the world that I am aware of besides the official offering from the pokemon center that lasted what appeared to be a mere heartbeat. Besides once being able to see an example proudly displayed in a glass case at the Pokemon center New York store location over a decade ago, I doubt you'll ever lay your eyes on another again. :)

It's a tough one for me to part with and I'm still reconsidering.

Just make sure you get the right price for it. People on Ebay may not know of it's value or rarity haha.
I fully understand the rarity, but have no idea on the value. Was $520.94 shipped from the Pokemon Center when I first bought it. I had no idea they were going to immediately yank the product from the catalog. It was most likely one of those teaser items that they thought no one would really buy but would just look good on their website for marketing reasons.

By any chance do you know if there was ever another official Pokemon item with a higher base MSRP than this one had at $495.95US?

The only info I can still find on the net about this guitar is here:
    https://www.sugarshock.net/zeo/pokemoncenter/index.html

However, their pricing is wrong. I still have my original shipping invoice for my guitar stating $495.95, and also the guitar was a Pokemon Center New York exclusive and would have never had any Japan Yen pricing to begin with unless there was a cancelled release planned for Japan as well.
