Nintendo had their annual general meeting (AGM) of shareholders last week and some interesting things came up in it!

Perhaps the biggest one is that Shuntaro Furukawa apologised for Joycon drift. After issuing a statement on the matter last year which didn't amount to much more than "we know some people have complained about it" it appears that Nintendo are finally willing to (or perhaps forced to) acknowledge the issue, although that is about all we've had at this point. Furukawa's full statement is as follows:

"Regarding the Joy-Con, we apologize for any trouble caused to our customers. We are continuing to aim to improve our products, but as the Joy-Con is the subject of a class-action lawsuit in the United States and this is still a pending issue, we would it like to refrain from responding about any specific actions."

Furukawa also apologised for the shortage in Switch stock and promised that titles planned for this fiscal year would still be released...although of course, he declined to say what games actually ARE planned for this fiscal year.

Furukawa also discussed the possibility that Nintendo Directs may be replaced with a more effective method of conveying information in the future. With no full Direct since September of last year and no E3 presentation planned, it seems that Nintendo may be exploring alternative ways of conveying information to fans.

So, let's discuss! What are your thoughts on the various statements from the AGM, and what would you like to see moving forward?
