I think it was a good starting ep, it was funny and I liked it. I wanted to see that older sister (and not just a memory type thing) but oh well, maybe next ep.

Just absolutely wonderful dialogue and visuals; in this respect it's still on par with the first series. Koyomi and Mayoi's conversation on "courage" felt like something straight out of Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei, and Hitagi's every word at the beginning made me feel like I was going to have a heart attack.

For the characters that got screentime, we pretty much saw all of their endearing qualities ratcheted up to eleven and it was pure entertainment. Hitagi as tsundere dominatrix, Koyomi as bemused straight man/raging pervert, Mayoi as tongue-twisting loli repartee master. There wasn't a moment that I didn't have a smile on my face and several moments had me openly laughing like Hitagi's TMI expression of her love for Koyomi in response to his fear of needing to use the toilet while chained up and Koyomi's various raep faces during the Mayoi scene.

My only note of disappointment was that there was zero plot (or even establishment of plot) aside from the mysterious foreshadowing at the beginning, though if they get on with it next episode it's forgivable since it looks like Nise has 13 episodes as opposed to Bake's 12. I just hope that the next episode isn't another "getting everyone up to speed" series of introductions since Tsubasa, Suruga, and Karen didn't get any screentime and Nadeko and Tsukihi only had small roles.

Still show of the season by a ridiculous margin though.

Another Chiwa Saitou opening, which I really enjoyed, pretty nostalgic too with all the staples and stuff. REALLY enjoyed the opening scene with Senjougahara and Araragi. It's rejuvenated my fondness for Senjougahara. Most of the characters that we did get to see in this first episode were all introduced pretty well. Getting to see Araragi and Hachkuji again was very interesting. The plot didn't get much exposure in this episode, except for the fact that Araragi is a vampire. Overall, an enjoyable first episode.

According to MAL, Nise is only going to be 11 episodes instead of 13 as originally stated. This really changes my opinion on the first episode and makes it feel more like a waste of time to me, even though it undeniably had its good moments.

It might very well do what Bakemono did and have extra episodes shown off of TV. But if it's only 11, whatever. I'm entertained even with the slowly moving plot. XD

Kanbaru proving yet again that she is the best monogatari, probably even best SHAFT girl, coming from me a self confessed SHAFTfag that's quite a complement.

As for the slow plot development over the first couple of eps I'm not worried, from what i've seen all of Nisio's work is like that, It's clever and entertaining so I'm sure it'll be good.

Did I mention dat Kanbaru.

i'm.. a little at a loss as to where i should use spoiler tags right now, as there hasn't really been enough plot development to actually spoil anything, but.. if you really don't want to have ANYTHING spoiled for yourself, i guess you should stop reading.

Ararararagi's pervertedness has reached new levels, it seems.. i have to get used to it all over again. but hurray for Sengoku and Kanbaru's comeback!
it said on MyAnimeList from the start that Senjougahara would turn out to become a supporting character, and i guess here's where it starts. too bad though, i love senjou XD;

i agree with Lapras. there wasn't such fast plot development in the first season either if i remember correctly, and that turned out to be sheer awesomeness as well, so i'm not worried so far..

seriously though. i'm loving the ファイア シスタース already!

yeah, it's nothing new, but still. it's been awhile since i watched an anime like that. XD;

if that's the case, i feel sorry for Senjougahara.. but seriously, it fits Ararararagi. a LOT.

I watched only one episode of Bakemonogatari I think and quit watching it for some reason I've heard of this one but never tried watching it
