Story: When a young trainer wanders into a cave while helping with the professor's research, they set in motion the first in a series of events foretold by an ancient prophecy. (Note: Much of this story's details are still being written at this very moment, this will be expanded on as more details are added)

I was actually helping with Pokemon Modified FireRed but due to some bad issues with my computer not working I had to leave the team, when I finally got everything working again, I saw the hack was cancelled so I was unable to offer my services again. Wish I could've contacted the creator before he cancelled the hack, it was a good idea:/

Anyway, since you applied to insert Pokemon, you won't need to submit any proof of work. Right now the main current project is still being prepared for distribution among the team, but it should be ready soon. I have other projects planned for the projects list as well, mostly just sideshow hacks, but those will be announced soon. Glad to have you on the team, let me know if you have any questions!:)

I also have the game's current story synopsis here, please (writers) feel free to take a look at this, and edit it as you see fit. Keep in mind that not every single change will be accepted, they will require a majority opinion or approval of the owner before hand. Current Synopsis

The player character begins in a currently unnamed village in the southern geographical section of the primary region in which the game takes place. Most villages, characters, and locations are currently unnamed, so feel free to provide name suggestions should any come to mind.

Now for the current synopsis of the game:
In a small, unassuming village south of the Sylvanwood Forest, a young Pokemon trainer has been called to aid the professor. This Pokemon trainer has recently graduate from the region's very own trainer academy, and is ready to become a full-time Pokemon trainer. The professor has been a close friend of this trainer for many years, serving as his/her mother figure since the passing of his parents, and she is reluctant to draw him away from pursuing his dreams, but she knows that there are more important matters at hand. The professor has called together a team of experts each specializing in different areas of research. Among these researchers are the former Hoenn champion, Steven Stone, and Pryce, the Mahogany Gym Leader from Johto (who is now a renown researcher of weather patterns and precipitation). The professor has called these researchers, and a few more, to discover the reasons for the catastrophic events taking place across the region, and to stop it however they can. The player character is unsure whether or not they should help the professor, but knowing they owe a lot to them, they decide to go along with it for the time being.

My main problem here is creating the reason that the Professor needs all these people in the first place. I need help creating the history/mythology of the region that would lead up to these events, such as a prophecy or something like that. My idea for the catastrophic events was something like this:

Long ago, many legendary Pokemon ruled the region of (no name as of yet, feel free to suggest a region name). These Pokemon became obsessed with their power and begun to fight for control of the region. A group of skilled Pokemon trainers called "The Seekers" was formed. These trainers dedicated themselves to stopping the tyranny of these legendary Pokemon. After a long war, the legendary Pokemon were defeated, and put into a deep sleep. The seekers sealed these Pokemon away in chambers underground, and the legendary Pokemon were never seen again. Many think this is just a story, so it is not widely accepted as truth except by various scholars or regional history experts.

I would like you guys to elaborate on these aspects of the story, filling in details, editing and revising when you see fit, and providing suggestions to make it better, whether it's adding something, changing something, removing something, or something completely different.

I will also have some more assignments for you soon, for character development + quests. I will provide these soon! ^_^

EDIT: Just so you guys know, I changed "Mappers" to no longer needed. This does not mean I do not need any of our current mappers to offer their services anymore, it just means that the mapper position is full so we don't need anyone to apply for that position anymore. We're still working with our current mappers. Just wanted to clarify:)

Wildfires spreading across the region, earthquakes splitting the nation, tsunamis and hurricanes rendering the coastline inhospitable. In light of these events, Professor Cypress gets world renowned scholars such as Steven Stone, the former champion of Hoenn, Shauntal, one of the Elite 4 from the Unova Region, and a few others. Together, they strike out to find the source of the catastrophes ravaging the land of Infi and discover a cave. A cave that tells of the past and shows the full extent of the battles of the stories of old. However, unbeknownst to them, spirits of the old pokemon had been locked in this cave and the darkness started to flow in. The darkness was avoided by everyone... but the player. However, this was the protection from the light of the spirits which controlled all the other people in the cave and turned them on each other. Each was warped away by their designated spirit, but which spirit was the player's?

Yeah, I couldn't find a great way to get across what I wanted at the end, but you get the general gist of it thought, right?

@DivineCorruption I like your ideas for the cave and the spirits of Pokemon inside. I think that would be a great starting point for the game's research into the natural disasters that are occurring throughout the region. I don't necessarily want the other characters to turn on each other as they will form the core group of researchers and will play a big part in the story together, & I probably won't be able to add Shauntal because of the difficulties there would be in doing so. I do really like the other ideas though, I've expanded a little further on that spirit cave idea. See the spoiler below. If you can, try to highlight your changes with a red font so I can find them easier in the future.

The Pokemon Professor (Potentially Professor Cypress) has prepared a task for you and the other researchers: venture to a nearby cave and investigate it's connection to the legends of old. While she doubts that the ancient myths have anything to do with the region's problems, she has no other leads as of yet. Upon arriving at the cave, you discover that something is blocking the way. Steven removes it easily, and you enter the cave. You and your fellow researchers find nothing of interest at first, but after picking up an ancient artifact, something like a massive earthquake occurs and the cave goes dark. The words "It has begun..." echo throughout the cavern, and the light returns. The others decide to return to the Pokemon professor and tell her of their discoveries, while you may choose to go with them or stay at the cave to explore for a while longer. When you return to the professor, and show her the artifact, she immediately begins rambling about some place called Glimmering Cave, in the North. She asks you and Steven to travel to (Insert City Name Here) and speak with the professor there, who is a renown researcher of ancient stones, fossils, and ruins. In order to reach the city, you will need to make your way to Nautilus Harbor, which is some distance away from your current location.

The player will have to battle and defeat two gym leaders along their way to Nautilus Harbor, but along the way many other important story events will happen and some characters will be introduced. I need you guys to help me write the important events that will happen, I'm stuck with this as well:/

They must not be of grand importance but must be relevant to the story in some way; it's relevance should not be completely evident at the time the event occurs, but it can hint towards being relevant to the story, just make sure to leave it open to some speculation for the players, I want a little element of mystery/suspense.

@DivineCorruption I like your ideas for the cave and the spirits of Pokemon inside. I think that would be a great starting point for the game's research into the natural disasters that are occurring throughout the region. I don't necessarily want the other characters to turn on each other as they will form the core group of researchers and will play a big part in the story together, & I probably won't be able to add Shauntal because of the difficulties there would be in doing so. I do really like the other ideas though, I've expanded a little further on that spirit cave idea. See the spoiler below. If you can, try to highlight your changes with a red font so I can find them easier in the future.

The Pokemon Professor (Potentially Professor Cypress) has prepared a task for you and the other researchers: venture to a nearby cave and investigate it's connection to the legends of old. While she doubts that the ancient myths have anything to do with the region's problems, she has no other leads as of yet. Upon arriving at the cave, you discover that something is blocking the way. Steven removes it easily, and you enter the cave. You and your fellow researchers find nothing of interest at first, but after picking up an ancient artifact, something like a massive earthquake occurs and the cave goes dark. The words "It has begun..." echo throughout the cavern, and the light returns. The others decide to return to the Pokemon professor and tell her of their discoveries, while you may choose to go with them or stay at the cave to explore for a while longer. When you return to the professor, and show her the artifact, she immediately begins rambling about some place called Glimmering Cave, in the North. She asks you and Steven to travel to (Insert City Name Here) and speak with the professor there, who is a renown researcher of ancient stones, fossils, and ruins. In order to reach the city, you will need to make your way to Nautilus Harbor, which is some distance away from your current location.

The player will have to battle and defeat two gym leaders along their way to Nautilus Harbor, but along the way many other important story events will happen and some characters will be introduced. I need you guys to help me write the important events that will happen, I'm stuck with this as well:/

Ok next time quote me so I can actually get a notification. Anyways I thought you could add Shauntal in since some Gen V sprites would be easy for our team but w/e. Anyways 2 questions: 1. How many researchers? That is kind of important. 2. Why do we still have to fight Gym Leaders? We can make it a different type of checkpoint in our journey(I understand he wants to be a trainer but still). He could battle the Pokemon and their underlings who were released and held the Gym Leaders hostage or something. I think a 10 of them maybe Divine 1, Corrupted 8, Devil 1.
Major Story Spoiler as to what I would LIKE to do.

I would like to make a darkness aura somehow and make that a purifying essence while the light corrupts Pokemon and people. The Dark part of the cave where it says "I will begin." should be the Pokemon that was the only one not corrupted by his power and was either locked up with the rest or jus deemed to be worthy of guarding the spirits. I think #1 is better as it allows for more flexibility with the story... But hey that's just me.

For now, I'll wait for your reply before writing, but here's the deal with the characters.
You can name your rival(maybe) but here's Xevos/Seral(M/F Rival) Valas(Oh hai Wally.)
Xevos/Seral - Your "cousin"(Cypress's nephew/niece) who always outperformed you in everything except Pokemon. Determined to beat you he/she helps out to find out what happened in the Infi region.
Valas - A mysterious traveler who doesn't rely on his Pokemon to win battles(mind tricks make him win as in talking). He has a strange accent and is shrouded in mystery.
