  • Hey all, I've been going over the recent usage stats for the NU tier, and believe I came up with a team that can counter most top threats.
Golurk, Alomomola, Sawk, and most Guts users are put down hard by this team, although it's lack of reliable recovery means you should try to end these battles as quickly as possible.
I have videos of this team doing work over on my channel, which is in my signature.

    Time for the main event:
    1. Scarved Simisear (Revenge Killing Speed Demon)
    Spoiler:

    Wangsworth (Simisear) @ Choice Scarf
    Trait: Blaze
    Shiny: Yes
    EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
    Timid Nature
    - Overheat
    - Flamethrower
    - Grass Knot
    - Hidden Power [Rock]

    2. Mixed Support/Attacking Glaceon (Winter's Howl)
    Spoiler:

    Chili (Glaceon) @ Life Orb
    Trait: Ice Body
    Shiny: Yes
    EVs: 120 HP / 128 Def/ 252 SAtk / 12 Spd
    Modest Nature
    - Ice Beam
    - Hidden Power [Electric]
    - Heal Bell
    - Wish

    4. Banded Seviper (Wannabe Physical Elektross)
    Spoiler:

    Slither (Seviper) @ Choice Band
    Trait: Shed Skin
    EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spd
    Adamant Nature
    - Sucker Punch
    - Aqua Tail
    - Earthquake
    - Poison Jab

    4. Lead Purugly (Beatifully Destructive Guts/WallBreaker)
    Spoiler:

    Noble (Purugly) @ Life Orb
    Trait: Thick Fat
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
    Jolly Nature
    - U-turn
    - Super Fang
    - Foul Play
    - Shadow Claw

    5. Physically Defensive Wartortle (Unbreakable Shell)
    Spoiler:

    Lady (Wartortle) @ Eviolite
    Trait: Torrent
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
    Bold Nature
    IVs: 0 Atk
    - Scald
    - Haze
    - Yawn
    - Rapid Spin

    6. Specially Defensive Stunfisk (Mutant & Proud)
    Spoiler:

    Barfolomew (Stunfisk) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Limber
    Shiny: Yes
    EVs: 248 HP / 8 SAtk / 252 SDef
    Calm Nature
    IVs: 0 Atk
    - Stealth Rock
    - ThunderBolt
    - Earth Power
    - Thunder Wave

Anyways, I would really appreciate your feedback on this team, I've really tried to refine it to its purest form. Oh, and while I'm at it, please change the nicknames if you plan on using this team yourself. You just look lazy if you don't.

  • Your team looks great offensively, but defensively I notice that none of your Pokemon resist Ground or Psychic (Both of them are common in the NU tier). I'd recommend substituting either a Shiftry or a Murkrow for one of your Pokemon to alleviate this problem. Here are my recommendations, although you might only want one of these two.

Life Orb Murkrow (to replace Purugly)
    Item: Life Orb
    Ability: Insomnia
    Nature: Naive
    ~ Sucker Punch
    ~ Brave Bird
    ~ Heat Wave
    ~ Roost

Nasty Plot Shiftry (to maybe replace Glaceon)
    Item: Life Orb
    Nature: Timid
    ~ Nasty Plot
    ~ Giga Drain
    ~ Dark Pulse
    ~ Hidden Power Ice/Fire

Lastly, Stunfisk should not be using Limber as its ability, because it is already slow and immune to Thunder Wave anyway thanks to its Ground-typing. Static is MUCH better.

  • Stunfisk is using Limber because of the dozens of times I've been in stall wars with body slam Miltank. **** Miltank.
I feel like Shiftry would be an excellent edition to the team, but Purugly is a dedicated lead at this point, and is a major powerhouse

  • Static is always better than Limber in many cases for Stunfisk. Having just a battle with Body Slam Miltank is just one case that serves no other purposes.

There is a definite reason why Static is recommended. It has a chance to cripple physical attackers. Therefore, as Miltank is a physical attacker, Miltank can even be paralyzed by her own Body Slam when Static activates. Some Miltank may not even carry Body Slam at all.

If you really want to take down Miltank, I'd opt to go for a strong Fighting-type move. A Guts Gurdurr may work best, although I'm not sure how well this fits to the rest of your team, it is definitely the best Miltank counter.

    I hope this helps.

  • Ask yourself why you'd use Simisear over harder hitters like Charizard or Rapidash. It's outclassed by both, IMO.

    Charizard:
    -Fire Blast
    -Flamethrower
    -Focus Blast
    -Air Slash/Hidden Power (Grass)
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 4 Def/252 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Choice Scarf
    Ability: Blaze

    Rapidash:
    -Flare Blitz
    -Wild Charge
    -Low Kick
    -Morning Sun/Drill Run
    Nature: Jolly
    EVs: 252 Atk/4 SDef/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb/Choice Band
    Ability: Flash Fire

I agree with Boilurn's suggestion of Gurdurr (or Sawk) to counter Miltank:

    Gurdurr:
    -Bulk Up
    -Drain Punch
    -Mach Punch
    -Ice Punch/Stone Edge/Payback
    Nature: Adamant
    EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 SDef
    Item: Eviolite
    Ability: Guts

    Sawk:
    -Close Combat
    -Stone Edge
    -Ice Punch
    -Earthquake/Toxic/Knock Off
    Nature: Adamant/Jolly
    EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
    Item: Choice Band/Choice Scarf
    Ability: Mold Breaker/Sturdy
