  • Myspace was the coolest back when I was in high school. It was the first website I go to when I get home from school. I think I give credit to Myspace for my HTML knowledge. xD

  • I don't think I ever had a MySpace. It didn't catch on at school or anything and everyone I wanted to talk to had Livejournal anyway.

I've never really had a real separator between online friends and offline friends before. I have more online friends on Facebook than IRL people and generally any kind of social media site I've visited in the past, I've kept the same profile for both online and offline friends because I'm too lazy to segregate. I don't know a whole lot of other people who do this... usually people have very clean lines between their friends from school/life and the people they meet exclusively online. :x

I don't have a barrier between my online and offline friends either. I see them as friends regardless and I don't see a reason to separate them.

  • I think lots of people (especially at a place like this) separate them because they don't want their RL friends to know some of their interests—and you can be a lot more open about your interests on the internet—but that was never an issue for me.

  • I used Myspace more than Facebook, haha. Myspace was popular when I was in middle school, and many of my closer friends already knew that I was into certain video games or anime. As for Facebook, I'm just not interesting. I rarely put up new pictures. I never really talk to anyone from high school anymore. I just log in to see if so-and-so is still at x college or in x relationship. Just a bit of spying.

  • All of my real friends are from the internet. And that's a little saddening. They know me more than any of my RL friends.

Not being able to see your online friends often or even at all is hard, but I try to look past that and only focus on the level of friendship we are able to connect on which is the same of that as RL friends.

I think online friends are a bit easier to make especially at a forum like this because you are likely to have more things in common. I have met more friends from here than I have anywhere else, including my best friend.

  • Ever since I left school in 2010, the only friends I have are those in the online world. It was due to anti-socialism kicking in as a result of me getting bullied badly.

  • I think I prefer my Internet friends over my real friends anytime . I can see them more often and actually do see them more often.

Yeah, who ever knew I'd meet so many awesome guys on PC alone? They even share my Pokemon interest, unlike my friends in real life.

There weren't many kids that I knew of from my school that played Pokemon and my brothers weren't particularly interested so joining PC was great because I now had friends that shared my love for Pokemon.

  • Yeah I was made fun of in 8th grade for still liking Pokemon at my age. :/ In high school I knew people who like Pokemon , but all of them were the "nostalgic" fans who only mainly liked gen 1 and 2(or some gen 3 to an extent) . One person I knew still liked current Pokemon games (gen 4 and a bit of gen 5 at that time. I graduated a few months after gen 5 started in the US.) So I really felt left out . (which is way I joined here. )
