Welcome to the PCL Championships Final!

The Final has the same format as last week's Semifinal, with a 5v5 clan war to determine to winner of our first Championships and the Chief Clan of the League! The Draconian Empire clan, the runaway top seed, will face the Ghosts of Perdition clan.

Again, the same rules that governed the weekly clan wars apply here. Each match-up is OU, best of 1. May the best clan win!

The deadline for this clan war is Sunday, August 9th at 11:59 EST. We really don't want to have to have any activity decisions for the Playoffs. Get your match done.

The match-ups are listed below. A few notes: because both Chocolate and Jocund went quite inactive for The Draconian Empire, I asked punkysaur to choose a mercenary who had versed one of the two during the regular season, and he chose AmourPearlShipper. Also, his match-up with Nolafus will have a softer deadline since Nolafus is on vacation and the time zones are, well, quite ill-fitting. There was little we could do about this, so sorry.

The deadline is less than 48 hours away, so seeing that only 1 match has been completed, here's everyone's reminder to finish them. I'm only giving out extensions to matches that have a legitimate reason for missing the deadline.

Nolafus vs. AmourPearlShipper is on a bit of a different schedule right now. This was my fault: I should have told punkysaur that Nolafus is somewhat restricted by time zone. This will definitely be getting an extension though I hope the remaining four matches end 3-1 so we don't have to worry about it. :x

Lastly, for my own match, I have to call activity on Void., as he did not show up to our scheduled match yesterday.

i can actually explain this one. the feedback thread has largely stagnated but we have plans for the league that we want to enact very soon. unlike, say, spl, pcl is supposed to be a bit broader in scope (and indeed the spl-ish format was something of an accident or even a fallback because of how tenuously pcl launched), so we have plans for an "offseason." before doing that, we need to overhaul how membership works, namely by instituting a minimum requirement on entering the league (some sort of activity specification on the btb forum and/or the battle server) and then, essentially, holding sign-ups again and reorganizing the league with a much more solid userbase than the one that existed for this opening act of pcl that resulted in the large handful of activity decisions you saw throughout the weeks. from there, we want to get a concrete number of clans (probably 4 or 5: 8 is too many lol), hold an auction for the players (details pending), and then begin to churn out some events and other stuff to do (also in process).

so while we aren't in a rush or anything (i personally am because of my impending departure from pc, though that's another story), i don't want to just extend the deadline for the sake of extending it. while i agree that a final decided on activity is indeed a total farce, and i don't really plan on being a nazi about stuff like "11:59 est," i don't want this to drag out forever and don't think it's unreasonable to expect these to get done within the given timeframe...

(sorry for long reply just figured i'd mention the plans we have given the opportunity lol.)

anyway, i will be on at the same timeframe you initially gave each of the next couple of days so i remain free to battle.
