Same here; in my eyes, Golem looks like a turtle as well. :P If its entire body weren't round (except for its back), then I'm pretty sure it would have looked exactly like one, haha.

  • Golem seems more like an armadillo to me. Like I could see it retracting its arms, legs, and head and then start rolling around all over the place like a wrecking ball.

Ahaha, no Golem is just a lump of rock with a derpycute face to me :3 I used to have no idea that it evolved from Graveler. I really thought they were unrelated until I played the game and saw something about trading Graveler to evolve it. Because when I first played, no matter how high I raised Graveler's level, it didn't evolve. I didn't know about trade-evolution 8)

I was mostly angry that I couldn't get the sleek, cool looking Alakazam when I trained my weirdo Kadabra so much :p Or Gengar from Haunter for that matter. Golem-Graveler was the connection I didn't make, I somehow knew that the others were connected. Maybe from the anime.

  • I never had a link cable, so I was in the dark about the trading evolution as well. I kept bugging the in game kids to trade, but obviously to no avail

  • Ugh the Geodude line has always been among my most hated Pokemon ever, adding to the fact that in X/Y I'm completely unable to trade right now, meaning I'll never be able to get those trade evolutions in the Dex.

I also hated how Graveler's 3D model turned out with that creepy face and all, every single time I ran into that thing it made me want to throw my 3DS on the floor lol. Doesn't help the Geodude line have two 4x weaknesses and were used by almost every single major Rock-type specialist barring Grant.

I don't really hate any evolutionary line, but I do sort of dislike the Tentacool family. Tentacool's everywhere when you're out at the sea, so you'd have to put a lot of your money under repels if you want to stay away. As for Tentacruel, well, it could be pretty annoying to go up against when battling. d:

  • Then I'll say it for you- I hate the Tentacool family. They've been my least favorite Pokemon from the very beginning, with the only thing coming close to them being Roggenrola (lazy design, bad name pun + Sturdy). I didn't even mind Zubat that much when I was younger, since bats are kind of cool to a 7 year old boy, but jellyfish- not so much. Too many times I remember one of my Pokemon getting poisoned out at sea, meaning I either had to turn back, or be down a Pokemon on my way to Cinnabar/Seafoam Islands/Cianwood, etc.

Oh god tell me about it, the Roggenrola line was probably among my least fave 5th Gen Pokemon (and then again I actually love most of those Pokemon) mainly due to Sturdy plus the fact Boldore is pretty much seen in almost every single cave in Unova. Oh, and there's Roggenrola hordes in Kalos. God have fun fighting those.

I really hate the new mechanics for Sturdy... it means you'll want to carry a Mold Breaker or one of those moves that hits multiple times in a turn. If they survive your attack they'll be sure to annoy you back, and it makes fighting Graveler even more annoying in X/Y.

  • I actually do like the Tentacool line! Sure, its annoying as heck, but the Pokemon itself is pretty cool imo. If i had to chose a Pokemon line to hate, it would probably be the Tepig line. Its designs are meh, but its such an uninspired Pokemon, i mean the 3rd fire/fighting in a row, really?
And while annoying, i think Sturdy is at least useful after they improved its mechanics, before that is was useless

Now that I think of it, it's ironic how Tentacool has "cool" in its name but is actually cruel, while Tentacruel has "cruel" in its name but is actually cool. (And a bit cruel, though)

You know what annoys me more than Tentacool? Zubat. Every time you're in a cave, you're guaranteed to encounter them in each of your step. ;o; Plus, its cry is a screeching sound, which doesn't help make it very pleasant. In gen five, though, it was replaced by Woobat, so that was a nice change of pace.

  • Yeah, Zubat are more annoying just because of what they can do to your team. On the flip side, I love using Crobat. Hey, if you can't beat them, shove it into a Poké ball and use one to beat up others! :D

Tentacool were never too annoying to beat unless you had a Grass type with Mega/Giga Drain, then in newer gens half the time they're annoying. D= I suppose they can get boring if you encounter them too darn often in water routes though, especially in the earlier games.

Boldore's line though...! You know you could OHKO them with any old move, but nope, Sturdy. How annoying. Sure, it makes Sturdy actually useful now and viable as a tactic to use in the games, and that's neat. It doesn't make it any less annoying when it works against you (for a minor thing) over and over again. :V

Thankfully they did tone down Zubat's appearance as of late, such as only appearing in Castelia Sewers in Unova (B2/W2) and Connecting Cave in Kalos. Funnily enough, Connecting Cave is also called "Zubat Roost". Must be a trick to let the players know there's Zubat in there.
