[Completed] Pokémon Jade

still loving the game and about to face the 7th gym and wanted to know where I could find some heart scales

Sooooooo, I found a rock without hit detection on Route 1. You can use it to get out of bounds really easily. I was able to surf p much anywhere

Yo =)
Just wanted to say I've been realy enjoying this game. So far I'm at the second gym.
Will come back here once I finish it. =)

The game's got a lot of work put into it in terms of the world, it looks really good. The character spriting and art could.... use a lot of work still.

Glad you're enjoying it!

Our team put a lot of work into all aspects of the game, but regardless, appreciate your criticism. We've heard it many times, always nice to hear it again! Cheers!

Like I mentioned, we have a wiki now which hopefully can answer most of your questions relating to our Pokemon. Check it out here: https://pokemonjade.fandom.com/wiki/Pokédex

Are your favorite pokemon Grass types? I think the Grass types you made look amazing it really made me want to use one just cause of looks!
Especially the starter ! A hard decision to make since grass types are kinda meh overall...
I really loved the fakemon they were good the towns and everything was good. But the story was really lacking... the dialogs felt very childish it made me lose interest at some point... talking to towns folks or the "bad team" just felt a bit of a parody :/
Still the game was great. I suggest more attention to the story if you ever make a new one.

Yo! Just finished the game - I mean, I beat the elite four and am not that interested in doing the post game stuff

So here's my review / criticism / praise =)

(if you are still going to play I recommend not reading)

I really liked the game! It's fun, well rounded, the design of the fakemon are great.

125 fakemon - althoug it's not a great number for today's standards (because lots of fangames have basically all the pokemon) it's a solid number, especially taking in consideration
1) It's all fakemon
2) You see 121 of them during a normal run

There's an error in the pokedex where Feslow and Avaloth don't appear, and from Ptera to Dundatate the numbers are not matching the Wiki
(I will try to post the picture here)

Fakemon I loved:
Lashifly - wtf is that???
Capyboer - gotta love capybaras
Waybill - gotta love platypus
Aarquake - looks awesome and hits hard
Finjoy line - finally a dolphin pokemon (what's nintendo thinking?)
Spirworm - I loved the concept of it xD
Eegear line - I loved the concept of it
Woolamb and Harmirit - they're green but aren't grass type, and that's nice; is Harmirit sprite made from Megaman X?
Gargust, Ocrocerth, Daziflame and Euphizi - beautiful designs.

My final team:
Gargust (63), Royongarde (Pinhead) (64), Harmirit (62), Volmanian (63), Elequill (Chomper) (63) and Aarquake (65).
With those levels it was pretty ok to beat the elite four.

EDIT: in the middle of writing this I thought "gonna do the elite four again just to talk to the developers in that room", later I'll see the developer's teams.

Some critiques:
The most obvious: the obligatory HM slaves. Poor cayboer.
I don't feel much difference between running and using the bike. Almost didn't use it / didn't feel like an improvement
The game feels almost TOO well rounded. There are few Fakemon that from the getgo you think "Holy shit"; Eridantis, Trempede and Nauvithan being some of them.
With Mipep being part of the story, I thought it's final evolution was gonna be really powerful, but it isnt't (512 stats only). It kinda dissapointed me xD
Same with Angelle (I mean, there's an statue of one of those), but at least it's stronger than a starter (545)
I was hopping for Trippish being "the magikarp" of the game, but it's evolution is just ... a lil bit stronger. I think there could be a "surprise" like magikarp.
I don't see the point in only receiving a Wrucket in the post game (if you let the kid keep their's); could be sooner, even if not immediately.

Things I liked:

The story is OK. It's not too serious and not too childish.
The world, the diferent cultures, the Ibex Coral Reef, the dragon gym guy, the Karaku Rainforest being a gateway for many places.
The political commentary! Especially in Apollo Town, that bit about being a white protagonist. And Trump hiding,

So I really liked the game and problably gonna play a second time using a different team. =)
Congrats to the team that made this possible. \o/

Are there fairies in this game? I was wondering since there are no native fairies in the dex show on the front page?

You mean fairy-type Pokes? If so, yes, there are.
There are 14 fairy type pokes, in total.

Or do you mean like Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf?
If so, yeah, there are 3 fairies in this game as well.

Hey, bro which of you both guys have named the default name for Male portagonist.
(Just wanted to know as it was just my name) 🤣

Kind of a dick move to have Volt Switch in the department store for sale and then have it on route five for free right next to said store.

I've finished this game, and its an extreme disappointment, and I'm sorry.

Pros:
-Good Fakemon Design
-Good Characters
-Well Made Game
-Actually Giving Monotype Teams To Type Specialists Despite Limitations

Cons:
-Ice Type (I've never seen a type get so bad since Johto with Grass types until Ario with Ice types. They're locked until 8th gym, and does not do well against any important matches after that point)
-Bad Type Distribution (only 3 fully evolved Ghost types before postgame, cannot get an Ice type until endgame)
-Coromon Syndrome (a lot of stuff happens with a low numbered dex, which meant a lot of repeating mons, unbalanced teams, etc. like what happened in Coromon)
-Locking 2 Wruckets to postgame (I feel sorry for Bully's Wrucket so I would have let him keep his, only if I wasn't doing a Professor Oak Challenge, but if you don't, Wruckets are locked til postgame)
-League Rematch is Mandatory to Unlock Certain Mons (No indication of this, I had to check a wiki, and I hate how you have to do a league rematch to get Mysteroul and Symph, as well as your last Wrucket and last remaining starter. League rematches should be optional, yet its mandatory for full dex completion)

Rating: 6/10, I'm sorry, but I cannot give a higher score due to so many disappointments that I have stated above.

I heavily disagree with your opinion. This thing you claim is is "Coromon Syndrome" is heavily enjoyed by most players. When a game with a big dex releases ppl complain but when its lowered its not enough. I know that criticism is normal but your "review" just seems like a disrespectful rant. Make a fangame better than this if you want to complain about others games so much.
Good Day

I am extremely sorry if it was too harsh, but maybe its my horrible memories of BDSP's horrible Pokedex that made me generally dislike monster games with extremely low rosters, because like, you're gonna face at least 5 hikers in a row with only a Geodude or a Zubat, because that's their only option. I'm not opposed to Kanto's dex, because its a really solid one, and trainers do have quite a lot of mon variety as I've seen in Let's Go and FrLg. Meanwhile, Sinnoh, because of how low their options are, you're just gonna fight like, 5 trainers with identical teams and you're just gonna see repeats beyond repeats, compared to stuff like SwSh where their large roster meant every trainer can have a completely different team without repeats.

Meanwhile, Ario, is even worse when, if legendaries are excluded, only 119 (Mysteroul is a legendary I think considering reasons) mons are available, and minus 8 Ice types, meant only 111 species have to be distributed, which is even smaller than Sinnoh. So, what do we get? Basically 1/4 of all NPCs use a member of Stagmite line, including basically every member of Team Wild and Rock Type Elite 4, as well as virtually every NPC in those Ice areas, including Ice gym leader, having identical teams because they only have 8 options. Also no other trainer aside from Arin uses Candlo or Candlodon, which lowers us to 109 normal species. Kanto's trainers may only have 146 non legendary options, but still you're not gonna face basically 5 trainers with identical teams in a row.

I may be a bit rude, but I generally prefer monster games with larger rosters for a much more unique experience and less NPCs using identical teams.

Anyways, as a bonus, I'm gonna do a Best/Worst Types Calculation

Best Starter: Marleaf (gym wise its only good against 3, being Grass, Water, and Ground, but why its my choice for best starter, is because it completely counters Team Wild, who mainly use species who are weak to either Grass or Flying. This is important, since you're going to fight them way more than you fight gym leaders. Despite Chardillo gaining Steel and Fire defeating first 2 gyms, it fares worst against Team Wild since Stagmite line has Ground coverage, and they mainly use Granpede line and Maskit line, which completely destroy it.

BUT, this does not mean Fuegarmor is bad, because Fuegarmor's Fire/Steel is a complete full counter to every Elite 4 member. Fire defeats Bug, and Steel defeats Fairy and Rock while immune to Poison, but if you don't choose Chardillo, get a Metacannon if you want to do a one mon Elite 4 sweep

Best Type: Fighting with 4/1, as its only major weakness is Fairy, and it destroys Team Wild's Rock and Fighting which they commonly use.

Worst Type: Ice (0/1 record, but if they are obtained earlier, then their score would be 3/2, but if by statistics wise, Ghost is worst with 0/1, since there are no Ghost and Psychic specialists)
Normal has 0/0, but I mean, its Normal, and since there's no Fighting specialists, its easy game for them.

For now, thank you

Does anyone know how Exp. Share works in this game as well as when you get the item in the story?

Here: https://pastebin.com/ZbejVuk2

Q: Where do I get the EXP Share?
A: You'll get it during a mandatory story event in Melbourne City.

If I remember correctly, it's for just one poke, not for all. But it's been a long time, I might be wrong
=)
